Question of the Week: Who would benefit from some time off TV?
TLP Question Of The Week:
We’ve seen people disappear and come back better, like Miz, Ryback, and now potentially Curtis Axel and Randy Orton. Who do you think would benefit from some time off TV, and why? |

Cena so he can learn to properly apply an STF. Really think he'd get booed less if he actually took the time off when he was filming a movie instead of rushing back for Raw every week, not like he has to worry about his spot.

So where do you cover QOTW on the podcast? I am curious to see what you guys thought about the hypothetical TNA network.
As far as this one goes, Cena and Corporate Kane. |

Sheamus, I think he is grouped into the Rey Mysterio/John Cena realm of being a face due to merchandise sales and was a lot more convincing when he was a heel. His early career is the only reason why I don't hate him like I hate Rey Mysterio, even though I didn't always hate Rey Mysterio.

Cesaro needs to go away for a while. Work on promos during his time. I would have taken him off tv and come back in the Rumble with a great showing.

Gertner is right when it comes to Cesaro. His current upper-card enhancement role is ruining his credibility. Jack Swagger is another guy I'd like to see them hold off on until they work out how to push him.

The Uso on the left. He's holding the team back.

Agree 100 percent on Sheamus, just been fed to Rusev, so is the perfect time for him to disappear. I actually enjoy his matches, but his face run has run it's course and now he is no longer seen as a top guy. Actually think he just isn't intriguing anymore and the US title run lowered his level rather than raising the titles.
He could stay off TV now, and come back as the Sheamus that started it all off, the vicious, violent heel Sheamus. If Cena has to face Lesnar again, you could do it at the Rumble and have Sheamus cost Cena the match, cutting a promo on Raw to say he was going back to the sucessful Sheamus that beat Cena for his first WWE title, the Sheamus that was better than Cena, and still is. Make the program personal, have Cena completely enraged that he was cost a potential win over Lesnar again. You have two months to build up to something really anticipated at Mania, I think the two would have a great match and it would finally make Sheamus interesting again. Sheamus as the brutal, dangerous heel and Cena as the face struggling to stay in control, it could be great imo |

Shit. I kinda like the idea of Cena vs. Sheamus at Mania.

Cena.
Would have been the best had it occurred after the Summerslam match to sell how vicious Lesnar was. Gets to have his big return prior to TLC or the Rumble to set the stage for their rematch and keep the feud fresher than it is now. WWE gets a few months to focus on building up other guys as possible big stars without the shadow of Cena looming over (and Reigns being out). No Cena getting involved in the Rollins-Ambrose feud, no needlessly squashing of the Wyatts because Vince panicked, and no random Team Cena feud with the Authority even though he's been treated better by the Authority than Orton has overall. |

Probably Triple H and Stephanie.
It would help develop heels that aren't authority figures or their henchman. |

I honestly believe that everyone should get a month or two off per year. Not all at once, but like a staggered time off to heal up and recharge the batteries.

I agree with the above thought, Vastardikai. Instead of just having Sheamus work pointless matches to keep him on TV when not in major storylines, give him some time to rest his body, perhaps work on some other skills, spend time with his family, maybe do some acting work. It might help the heart become fonder when some of these guys are removed from the public eye for a while too.

Oddly enough, though, he got over as a face.

Another example of WWE "cutting off their nose to spite their face".

This could have multiple benefits. Crowds generally mark the eff out for returns, regardless how long/short the absence has been. I feel like this would also give a chance for some of the mid/lower talents to develop more and help with creating future stars. Quote:
