Fox and Marvel's Gambit film that has been in the works since 2015 suffered another serious delay. Another director dropped out while Fox still wants filming itself to start by early 2017.

According to the producer and director of Captain America: Civil War, they had a second ending planned in case Robert Downey Jr. decided to not return as the actor for Iron Man. Would have lead to around a third of the film being changed as a contingency plan.

"We were always trying to put him into these interesting moral conundrums because of his nature. That would have made a compelling third act because if civilians are the antagonists, how could he stop them without killing them?"

An emotional component was also present, as Captain America would have had to fight his superhero friends, who would have been taken over by the Madbomb as well.

"Somebody you know has turned into a zombie and now you have to fight them," Anthony said.

But then Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios reached a deal, and everyone lived happily ever after. The end.

comics now made steve rogers more confusing than ever. one comic he's on carol's side, the other on tony's side and it's not like he switched, they just show him differently as they please apparently. not to mention that whole hydra bullshit.

Oh, I didn't realize it'd already been reversed haha. I just remember a huge backlash from people being angry that he was revealed as Hydra, and thinking that whatever it won't be permanent etc.

Damn, that is a long ass wait. Hopefully it's because they have a larger budget for the Kun Lun stuff. Of all the defenders, Iron Fist will be the hardest to represent with a small tv budget.

Surprised this hasn't been talked about on here, but Tim Miller is off Deadpool 2, due to creative differences with Ryan Renolds. Miller apparently wanted a huge budget flashy superhero movie, while Renolds wants to keep the low key tone of the first movie. Renolds is now in serious talks with David Lietch who produced John Wick, and is attributed with much of that films awesomeness.

I'm with renolds. The tone and budget of the first film was a perfect fit for the character, and it sounds like it's in good hands with Lietch.

Also, am the only one who thinks it's kind of awkward and weird to have Cable debut in a deadpool movie? Like, I know they are rivals/allies whatever, but that's a small part of who Cable is. He is a time traveller who came from the future to stop Apocolypse. That is the whole reason for the character's existance. Deadpool is just a side feud from when he was training x-force. I don't even think tjey've been enemies since the 90's.

It just seems weird to have an Apocalypse movie without Cable, and then put him in a deadpool movie immediately afterward. Due to how epic his backstory and mission is, he just seems bigger than a deadpool movie to me.

Kinda agree about Cable, but given that I completely ignore the X-Men movies as I find them pretty bland at best and terrible at worst I'd prefer Deadpool's movies remain as distantly associated with them as possible. Let the X-Men in his universe be a completely different set of X-Men that are closer to the comics like they were in the first movie.

They don't give a shit about smaller details, and tney shouldn't, as it's better to focus on telling a good story than getting everything accurate to the comics. But maintaining what makes a character in the comics is important, and for the most part, studios have been doing really well with that thelast few years. I wouldn't even mention it if they hadn't.

Thougj I suppose out of all of them Fox has been the worst. For example Mystique as an inspirational, speech giving hero is fucking awful. She may as well have been a different character.

Anyway, I'm just commenting that it's weird. Don't really expect anything one way or the other.
