What Randy "I'm a magician so watch Aliens disappear to another developer" Pitchford neglected to say is that Borderlands sold like shit in the first week then popularity exploded a few weeks later. Battleborn is going the opposite way and already losing players on Steam despite debuting less than Evolve or even Brink.

Also worth noting that in all of Europe, of fails to outsell Ratchet and Clank on a single formst, which is in it's 3rd week of sales.

EDIT: There's more people playing Borderlands 2 than this right now on the steam stats even.

1) Newest gaming related petition involves people trying to get a review for Uncharted 4 removed from Metacritic due to it being the only negative review at the time of the report's release. Apparently one of the game's voice actor, Troy Baker, ended up being responsible for the spike in signatures after he publicly lashed out on the negative review.

I am excited as fuck for BF I.

Also, trench warfare can be insanely tense. I remember Cod 2 on 360 was like that on the beach landing mission.

Soooooooo many more things occurred in WW I other than trench warfare, and I am glad that will be getting exposure.

Still time for Activision to make Modern Warfare remaster a standalone game. They'll sell a lot of legacy editions, but e-bay and gamestop are going to see a lot of resells/trade-ins of Infinite Warfare.

Warner Brothers are re-releasing Batman Markham Asylum and City for $50 on Ps4 and XB1. Its weird though, they're putting effort into it by moving it from Unreal Engine 3 to 4... But then gave it to the people who remastered Final Fantasy X and have managed to create the worlds first Demaster.

The first two Arkham games still look fabulous. There was no reason to 'remaster'.

Mid to late generation 360/PS3 games are virtually on par with at least year 1 and 2 current gen games.

To attempt to touch them up is now a risk to their aesthetics and fidelity. As said; wtf.

Re-releases are fine but current gen is not such a jump in tech that games merely a few years ago need to be touched up. Just straight ports are needed. Especially with emulation making all this moot.

Totally agree. I'm all for remasters of the PS2 era and before getting HD makeovers, but last gen... No thanks. Big exception is where there's not a PC version and they can up the framerate. Last of Us was so much better in 60fps.

In regards to the Batman Arkham remastered set, some of the images leaked do look better than the originals but some also look way worse.

Being speculated Chinese developer Virtuous is just porting the PC version straight into Unreal 4 and then quickly porting it again to PS4 and Xbox One without doing any real port work needed since its meant to be a cheap cash grab.

Had they used the Xbox 360 and/or PS3 as the basis and done real porting work, the jump in quality likely would have been a lot better or smoother.

It's not speculation, that's the people doing it. They just made everything on FFX sharp and didn't give a fuck if it was hair or whatever. Now they're doing it again.

The worst part is that it isn't a cheap cash grab; Unreal Engine 3 is fine on PS4/Xb1... They're porting it to a new engine and just fucking it up in the process.

A couple bits of indie game news from the past week:

1) Asymmetric, the company that makes the Kingdom of Loathing browser MMO, announced last week a new game: West of Loathing. It will be an adventure RPG and it currently scheduled for release in early 2017.

2) On Sunday, the 1.3.1 update for Terraria was released. The update includes improved controller support on PC, as well as many new mechanism items, like conveyor belts and logic gates.

4) Capcom announced the Monster Hunter series will be joining Nintendo's amiibo series line starting this October although at the moment is only for Japan.

5) According to recent reports, the upgraded version of the Xbox One called "Scorpio" is rumored to be about four times more powerful than the current Xbox One model. In terms of comparisons with the PS4 Neo, Scorpio would be more powerful by almost 2 terraflops.

If No Man's Sky is delayed until July, then that's cool. But if it goes to August, I just can't have that. As it will clash with precious Deus Ex: Mankind Divided playing time.
