Nah, Freesync is the variable refresh rate stuff. So I've got a G-Sync monitor and what it does is change the TVs refresh rate to whatever the framerate of the game is running. What this means is that it removes some of the big issues with framerate drops like screen tearing or frame pacing. It makes things so much damn smoother.

Seems to follow the same rules as Steam. Thank fuck, I swore off the Windows store because it fucked up too many times, a couple even requiring reformatting where Steam just works these days. At least now I can feel better about trying as if it just breaks shit again, I can refund.

For those of you still on the hunt, Nintendo is discontinuing the Nintendo Classic Edition. Their miniature plug-and-play version of the original NES.

Supply issues seem to be the main reason since they're still really hard to find.

Didn't they also only make around a million to 1.5 million of these Classics as well? Don't think they even bothered with a second run of production at least in the US.

One of their biggest weakness in recent years is them being really bad at guaging public interest for their products as a whole. Unless its something Mario, Pokemon, or Zelda related, its more likely than not they are going to under-estimate the demand for it by a lot.

Think they even had to hire another company recently to help them out because of how bad they were getting with this.

Nintendo has a strange kind of modesty on their Japanese end. They'll talk about Zelda or Mario like an indy passion project rather than them being some of the best games in history. Compare that to how western devs talk about their game; Bungie especially has become massively cocky to the point the community had to pester them to stop being so flowery in blog updates.

And Nintendo leaving money on the table is strange only in the context of what we're used to with other companies. Any other company would be on the tenth expansion of a Pokemon MMO by now. Or Metroid Prime 7.

Yeah, I do get underestimating demand, that's fine. But discontinuing a product already in production people want to give you money for is just batshit.

Looking at the stock checker for this country, they were restocked in March and not one retailer had stock for more than 10 minutes.

Eurogamer has a rumour up about a SNES Mini by Christmas. Congrats to the 10 people who buy them.

I also saw a rumour elsewhere which is the only thing that makes sense to me about the NES Mini: The CPU they use in that is a discontinued product and Nintendo just bought them up cheap to make it which is why it is now discontinued.

I'd like to say I'm excited about a prospective SNES Mini but at the same time like you said if they only make about 15 of them I'm not gonna lose aaaaaaaany sleep over not getting one.

They did pre-orders for the NES over here. I got the controller to use on the Wii U virtual console and PC, just didn't fancy the console until it was hacked and then it was too late.

I will pre-order a SNES mini though.

Activision confirmed rumors of the next Call of Duty going back to the WW2 setting with the official debut to occur on April 26th. Sledgehammer was also revealed to be the developer for this year's game.

A company is making a streaming app called Rainway that they're saying will stream your games to a browser, phone, XB1 or Switch. They were claiming that it will be on the eShop, but I have a feeling that once Nintendo figure out what it is, they'll block it.

Still, if it works in a browser, it should still be fine once it actually gets a browser. Would be pretty sweet.
