don't recall this (and apparently it turns out it was Scott Putski) but I have no desire to see it, guys getting injured or even generally taking awkward looking bumps makes me cringe. Even if I knew what you meant and watched the match again, I'd turn away when that part came about. Definite GASH. |

going to go with GASH. In spite of some incredible matches, he was blandblandbland when he first showed up. This said, he did have a spectacular few weeks, starting with the "hinting at a return to Bryan Danielson", his mini-feud with Michael Cole, complete with a great promo, a really believable intense segment where he kicked the shit out of him, Cole playing the heel foil etc (all GOLD) and of course culminating with the infamous debut of Nexus. And then he was promptly fired. After that it was pretty much a bunch of good to great matches and absolutely nothing else, even being outshone by Derrick Bateman in their segments together. tbf this stuff would have been fine for most people plodding along in the WWE midcard but we saw what was to come. From the second they started that slow build douchey OTT heel turn with him and tapping into solid GOLD with the Yes! stuff, he's been absolute dynamite and has exceeded surely even the most hardcore slobbering mutant of an ROH fan's expectations and is now one of the must-see acts in all of pro wrestling and for once, it's not just because of the quality of his matches. Compare that to his first "definition of vanilla midget" year-18 months, it's a shocking (and hugely welcome) transformation. |

Match: Billy Kidman vs. Paul London from No Mercy 2004.
Moment: William Regal's promo on Triple H sometime in 2004, or around then. Triple H was bullying Eugene around and Regal stood up to Triple H, bringing up their past and telling Triple H that taking advantage of that disadvantaged boy was one of the stupidest things he has ever done, because now he's gone and made an enemy out of him. Memory: Kane dominates in the 2001 Royal Rumble. |

GASH. Bit controversial I know but it wasn't as good as HBK/Taker 1 and it was the exit of Shawn Michaels as an in-ring performer. A nice send-off sure, a fitting send-off absolutely. But as a Shawn Michaels fan from the age of about 7 ft. (awful) homemade HBK tights, it was something that was never supposed to happen. Even in the build up to the match it never once occurred to me that this was actually going to be the end of HBK, it was something I never really believed was going to happen. "How does somebody that good, that still outperforms 100% of the wrestlers on Earth on a nightly basis, walk away?" My reasoning is entirely selfish obviously, it's still a very good match, off the top of my head maybe somewhere in the top 5 or 10 matches from the last 5 or 10 Manias but if they'd have stopped after 25 and HBK carried on forever, I'd have been a lot happier

GOLD. Flair had been working for Vince for like what, 3 months tops? And he gets the title from almost the get go. Shows the greatness of the guy right there. Love the whole story, Flair was perfect throughout the match (and in the promo) My favourite part of the whole thing however is still and always will be Bobby Heenan (and Hennig), on commentary and after rushing off to join in the celebrations afterwards. The whole thing was just great. GOLD GOLD GOLD.[/quote] have really liked this since the very first time I saw it. Feel like we should see more things like this in modern day wrestling, one of those things that would really "add realism" that also makes perfect sense. GOLD. |

GOLD. The real arrival of "Shane the super non-worker". Had no business having a match anywhere near this good for a guy that isn't a professional wrestler (tho the fact he was in with Angle certainly doesn't hurt) Was actually showing this to a friend recently, such a brutal match as well, the thud when Shane's head hits the floor on one of the failed suplex's is sickening. Great stuff.
"Holy shit, Jeff Hardy is going to get the push." GOLD for the reason alone. More GOLD. Kickstarted the power couple gimmick. As much as they dominated TV afterwards, the Triple H/Steph in control stuff/Vince leaving was great TV, both were/are great heels for very different reasons, Steph went from dull daughter of Vince to entertaining bitch that suddenly became really quite hot. Plus the angle/turn itself was very well done/perfectly executed and YOU DIDN'T. SEE IT. COMING. BANG! Still only the 2nd most over thing I remember from the show however, 1st obvs being Miss Kitty's tatars |

GASH. For the same kind of reason I'd call Vince blowing up in the limo GASH and so forth. It was something that we never got to see extend to it's true potential/really see where it was going due to the Van Dam bust/subsequent punishment/"outside forces".
GOLD. One of those rare "you HAVE to see this", the kind of thing that makes wrestling fans giddy because they know something "big"/gamechanging just happened. Very well executed angle, can't really ask for a better way to introduce a bunch of new guys to the "main audience". Solid GOLD. Loved this so much. Was frothing for them to go in this direction with Daniel Bryan at the time since it was all very well played by the 2 guys involved and it was by far the most interesting he'd been since the start of NXT. He's the best guy FOR. THIS. JOB. Nice bit of foreshadowing right there. |

Let's hope CSL feels that way. While I would like to get at least one GOLD from him, he has had it in for me around here ever since 2009, when I argued (and rightly so) that because Jamie Noble had been released from the main roster (or had to retire from the active roster because of Sheamus attacking him), even though he was still a behind-the-scenes guy of some sort, that I should recieve credit for having him on my Pink Slip Pool 2009 list, and was immediately and repeatedly refused by Mr. SL.
