Choosing Brian, think they were both good but Pillman was a bit more interesting, he was before his time too.

God dammit such a soft spot for both of them esp pillman after reading liams book. But realistically Pillman is more cult figure who never quite did what he should have. Very tough call. Have to mull it over.

Pillman was a great personality, but I think Owen was a better overall package as a wrestler. I feel like Pillman never got the chance to put the two together. He could have been awesome as a cocky, unstable Flyin' Bryan, but his personality really came through when his ring career was all but over.
Owen was great in the ring, had some really fun feuds and was just as entertaining as a personality, if not moreso. |

This. Very tough call. Both really hit all the checkmarks for me as an overall performer and wrestler. Both gone way before their time.

I think Owen is the most over rated wrestler in history, change channel material everytime he came out. Pillman for me.

Owen was better in the ring, Pillman was better as a character. It's close but if I'm starting a company, I go after Pillman first. There's just more to do with him as a character. White meat babyface, obnoxious heel, batshit crazy. Killed it every time.

I think owen had done all he was ever going to do. Pillman had more potential. Since both careers were nothing i take pillman on what if alone

I liked Pillman but I found Owen better. Always a mark for technical wrestling and Owen was entertaining.

wow tough one and tough for me not to be biased here. But overall Pillman was such a trailblazer in the industry. His stuff from 95-97 will forever be talked about and he was doing things we had never seen before. Definitely a prelude to the attitude era. And before all that he was one of the best wrestlers in the world. His career was a tale of two halves for sure.
I think inside the ring, Owen had the better career, but Pillman just has so many memorable moments that are still talked about today |

Owen. Pillman was great, but I don't think he ever reached his full potential before his tragic death. He had an easy year-long feud with Austin and no doubt could have drawn loads with it. I'd have love to have seen it, but alas that will never come. And Owen is my fave of all-time.

To vote owen because pilman didnt reach his potential implies owen did...doesnt it? And wouldnt that be an argument for pillman seeing as owen went out as the blue blazer?

Hollywood Blondes team with Austin, pulling a gun on Austin, joining the Hart Foundation, feuding with Goldust. These are the only things I really know him from. I did think he had potential, but I don't think I ever thought "they should make him world champ" like I did with Owen. Maybe I would have if I saw more of Pillman, or if he didn't pass away and continued his career..... but I can only go based on what I thought at the time. Which leads me to give Owen the nod. |

I mean... Owen was a mainstay on PPVs and kind of a staple fro 1994 onwards, whereas Pillman had lots of ups and downs and when he was about to break through to the next level fucked his ankle up. And by ups and downs, I mean he'd pretty much just be a jobber. Owen never sank to those depths after his feud with Bret.
If Pillman didn't fuck his ankle he'd have been a main eventer and we wouldn't be having this conversation. |

Legit can't come up with a reason to pick one over the other. Very tough matchup. Both guys were great across the board. Both never got to where they could have given the time. Both gone wayyyyyyy too soon. Time to flip a coin boys.
Pillman wins my vote. |

Pillman. Seemed like a really cool guy that I'd have a blast partying with. Owen was good, but kinda felt like he was too invested in wrestling to hang around with.

And well, as for wrestling I enjoyed Pillman's matches more. Owen was technical, Pillman was entertaining.

Apparently Owen wasn't that fussed on wrestling and actually wanted to leave to be a firefighter at one stage. He was also the biggest joker in the locker room. Not that it matters for better wrestler

Pillman sucked after the ankle injury. Owen was never as boring to watch as Pillman during that run, in ring wise anyways.

Tough choice but gave the nod to Owen.
Gave the nod to Pillman in terms of character/charisma and nod to Owen in terms of in-ring skills. Both had their share of memorable moments (ex. Pillman's "Gun" incident, Owen-Hart at Mania X) and legacies left with big "What If" questions because of their early passings. Ended up leaning towards Owen mainly because I saw a lot more of his stuff as it happened and don't have a strong of a personal attachment with Pillman's stuff as with Owen's stuff. |

I know Pillman was a skilled worker and a brilliant about working to get himself over but I can't say he was more skilled than Owen and none of his characters ever resonated with me. I know a lot of people get raging boners for the Hollywood Blondes and the Loose Cannon but I never got on board with either. Owen on the other hand was supremely entertaining in everything he did. I'd easily vote for him over Bret given a chance.

This one was about as much of a coin flip for me as I can remember. Went with Pillman. Kinda relieved my vote didn't decide it.
