Kane is one of my all-time favorites and one of the first wrestlers I became a mark for. First wrestling-related autograph I got too.
But objectively Edge was way better in the ring. He could get a good match out of pretty much anybody. I don't really recall a time when I'd groan before an Edge match. Even during his less than stellar face run in the early 2000s at least you knew you were getting a really good match out of it. Even though I like Kane he's had more than his fair share of eyesores. His Corporate Kane run in 2014/15 led to funny segments but had me wishing he would retire rather than going out there and stinking out the joint night after night. |

I went with kane....as much as I like Edge, I pretty much always enjoyed the Kane character...except when he had to go through the Katie Vick angle, which was probably no fault of his.

Kane. I have no valid reason for this.

I think the conversation of legacy is interesting with these two. In ring Edge is better, hard to argue anything else. But which of these two will be talked about the longest? I think from that perspective I think the answer is Kane. The character is more "iconic" (using the term loosely) than Edge and I think in 20 years Kane will be more memorable than Edge.
I think these two are much closer than this poll suggests. If you exclude the average fans propensity to prefer fast paced matches (and thus preferring Edge's in-ring product to Kanes) they ae pretty even in every meaningful category. With that said I'm giving my vote to Kane due to the legacy which is my 2nd biggest metric for voting since neither really generated a boat load of money. |

I just enjoy Edge's work more.
I mean Edge will never have anything as iconic as "THAT'S--- THAT'S GOTTTTA BE KANE" but damn if his TLC feuds aren't pretty fucking iconic themselves. Plus Kanes lows are far lower than Edge's. |

I don't think we can put Kane over Edge in terms of being more iconic and memorable...when Edge just beat Sting.
Kane is in that same "character" genre as Sting. Sting is better than Kane on every level as an iconic character, as well as bettering him in the ring and on the mic....and he STILL lost to the Rated-R suuuuuuperstarrrr. In other words, if Sting couldn't beat him, no way Kane is |

Edge.
Kane isn't bad for a generic big man, but never felt he has shown anything more than being big and able to slam people a bit. Don't get me wrong, he does it well, and certainly the Kane gimmick works, but in terms of wrestling ability he is nothing special. |

Hard choices. Don't think Kane was ever really the man in the WWE. Edge carried Smackdown for years as a heel.

Edge.
I liked Kane back in the day (and even today I respect him), but he's just never been someone I considered one of my favourites. His legit "monster" days were great though and he was terrifying, but over the last decade his character/background and everything else has been so inconsistent that I haven't really given a shit. Corporate Kane was kinda a nice twist though when it first happened. |

A lot more people would tell you Sting was their favourite growing up than Kane I would wager. In any case, poor Sting has been and gone. Edge is much more well rounded than Kane and right from his breakthrough, he had energy and charisma and memorable stories. Kane has had a LOT of years in the wilderness and that has soured me on his legacy somewhat. |

I dont mean to put the entire weight of WCWs demise on Sting but it was the first dominoe to fall and then many that came after did them in. Had that match gone well I think things go very differently for the industry as a whole. The neigitves of that moment are so huge, possibly the biggest failure of any one worker ever, that it destroys any good will made from other aspects of his career. |

What was he really supposed to do with Hogan though? I mean Hogan didn't want to put him over.
I honestly think if there was no fuck finish, the shittiness of that match wouldn't matter because Hogan ALWAYS had shitty matches at that point of his career. I'm not one of those guys who hates Hogan's workrate because in the 80s (literally ALL of the 80s) and some of the very early 90s, Hogan's work was pretty solid for what he had to do. But Hollywood Hogan was the drizzling shits, and he sewer fucked that finish. |

I just don't think that really matters.
The Rock match is a totally different ball game. Angle and Lesnar are Angle and Lesnar. 2 absolute machines of men and could wrestle around Hogan. Let's not act like Sting even in the best shape of his career was going to do that. Hogan's as much to blame for that match as Sting is. If not more so. It was a badly booked match. Why not have it go 7 minutes and have Sting win with the Death Drop? High octane Stinger splashes, no Hogan back rakes bing bang boom, do some business. Notice how Goldberg couldn't wrestle more than 5 minutes at Mania so they didn't make him go more than 5 minutes? I mean you spend all this time building up a match, you see the guy is in less than ideal shape and you set the match up to be a flop. |

I thought about how much both have accomplished, and they're honestly very equal. Then you look at the garbage they've produced and Kane leads that by a mile. Gotta give it to Edge even though I think Kane is great.

Gotta say Edge. It's close, really, but Edge has greater raw ability and he's never touched the depths of shit that Kane has.
