Whelp, bought an exotic engram and got a helmet for my lvl 8 Warlock I never use. That's like, 2 legendary and 1 exotic item waiting for her when the time comes.

Wasnt overly impressed with the Titan helmet, so I bought the Ice Breaker and will keep the strange coins in my back pocket until next week. Stumbled upon a legendary sniper just a few hours ago too, but I figue its good to have different elements (legendary was void, ice breaker is fire).

Feel like capping points should be worth more. Came in last place in control because I didn't get a ton of kills, but capped 10 points. Other dudes probably wouldn't have even gotten so many kills if I wasn't distracting the other team by grabbing objectives like a BOSS.

Remember Control in Destiny is different (and odd) because points only multiply kill scores, so it's still about getting kills. I'm not too crazy about that, really. I'm a 'hold points to gain score Domination/Conquest' kind of guy.

Yeah, me too. Mainly cause I'm typically not great at leading the board in kills. But I'm pretty damn good at taking objectives.

Usually never even play standard deathmatches in shooters.

Jesus. That special Summoning Pits strike I picked before I complete The Thorn weapon bounty up is crazy hard. Need a full fireteam and arc and fire weapons to even stand a chance. I've read stories of people actually soloing the damn thing.


This better be worth it if I pull it off today.

Talking about just staying at the entrance room? That won't work. When you do that, the game spawns a strong enemy behind you. In the summoning pits its a screamer. Super tough Hive version of the servitors.

Yeah they covered that at launch. I learned the hard way.

You gotta keep moving. Though there is this spot of rocks at the edge that gives you good cover from everything, but hell if you can kill enemies at a decent rate from there. You need a team or all your weapons at 300 damage. I'm working on that Thorn bounty myself. Gotta wait for a special witch to come out after the third dropship.

Hotfix going down today. Mostly tweaking some of the gun stats. Upping scout rifle damage while dialing down the auto rifle damage. Also, Rocket Yard loot cave is being shut down, too. Here's the full details.


Summary
The most recent hotfix (1.0.2.2) for Destiny goes live on October 14th. This hotfix includes a number of changes to weapon balance across archetypes (e.g., lowering Auto Rifle effectiveness and increasing Scout Rifle damage output), specific weapons (Vex Mythoclast and Pocket Infinity) and includes a number of fixes to issues with the Templar encounter in the Vault of Glass.

We're still working on a larger update which will address under-performing Exotics and overall class balance.


General
  • Fixed a bug where the Valkyrie-O5X Ship was the same as the Aurora Lance



Classes
  • Titan
    • Unbreakable: Fixed an issue with the perk granting more agility than intended
  • Warlock
    • Brimstone: Perk can now activate if player is airborne


Weapons
  • General
    • Fixed some issues related to quick weapon swapping
  • Auto Rifles
    • Base Damage decreased by 2%
    • Reduced Precision Damage multiplier from 1.50 -> 1.25 (head shot bonus)
    • Stability decreased by 4% - 17% (driven by stat value)
  • Hand Cannons
    • In-air accuracy now increased
  • Scout Rifles
    • Base damage increased by 6%
    • Damage vs. Combatants increased by 6% - 25% (based on tier)
    • Improved target acquisition, plus additional recoil tuning.
  • Shotguns
    • Decreased base damage at maximum range (falloff) by 20%
    • Shot Package Perk now has a slightly wider cone of fire
    • The Rangefinder and Shot Package perks are now mutually exclusive
  • Exotic Weapons
    • Vex Mythoclast
      • Base Damage decreased by 34%
      • Increased Precision Damage multiplier from 1.25 -> 1.50 (headshot bonus)
    • Pocket Infinity
      • Enhanced Battery Perk has now been replaced with the Speed Reload Perk
  • Perks
    • Metal Detector: Fixed a bug that prevents this perk from actually providing additional ammo
    • Lightweight: Fixed a bug that allowed additional agility to apply even when a weapon was stowed


Activities
  • Strikes
    • Engram rewards from strikes now appear in the post-game Activity Summary
  • Raid - Vault of Glass
    • Templar Encounter
      • Kill volume added to sniper platforms to prevent players from sitting on top of them

Whelp, beat the Raid on Hard yesterday with a few buddies and landed the Vex weapon...too bad they nurfed the hell out of it. Still a solid weapon, I just feel like for beating THE hardest thing to beat in the game, you SHOULD be rewarded with a weapon that is exceptional.

Yeah a lot of people were pretty pissed at it getting the nerf stick, and it raised questions of what it means to earn something and have it reduced in power. Gamers tend to whine over certain nerfs but I can sympathize with this point. Another good thought was how balance changes seemed to be informed by PvP, when people needed certain weapons for PvE encounters. It's a tricky line.

Well and the silly thing is, its still an absolute BEAST in PvP...like, Ive not dropped below a 2.4 k/d ratio in my matches since using it. I'd rather have them work out that that reduce its damage in PvE

Holding out for the wish of raid matchmaking comes true. I got a few friends who are just about ready to do this.

Other news, soloed that hard summoning pits strike and scored the Thorn. Now just hoping Xur comes through with some good items tomorrow morning and I'll be a happy camper.

No. I'm content with all the gear I've got now. Everything in purple with a blue here and there. Only exotic I'm missing is something in my special slot and an armor piece. Would love to get my hands on Patience and Time. Saw a couple of those won through crucible.


Basically on a quest for an exotic piece of armor for my hunter right now. Backed off of upgrading my armor cause I'm gonna go down a few levels once I get it. Pretty comfortable with my Bladedancer class so I'm on the lookout for the Mask of the Third Man helmet. But Xur screwed me over again and had Archolphage Symbiote on sale last 2 of 3 weeks.

I just played a level 18 strike for like two hours with two random peeps and when we almost had the boss killed it kicked me off saying there was a new Destiny update. Is this a regular thing because it seems like they should let you finish what you are doing before forcing you to update, specially considering that my PS4 updated this morning.

Destiny update went into effect this morning. Big fix came in the form of people using the cheap way to kill Atheon by knocking him off the platform in the Vault of Glass. Can't do that anymore.

Also, for Halloween, postmaster got 3 Jack-o'-lantern masks. They last about 30 minutes and you got a pumpkin on your head in the shape of a Hive baddie.

First DLC pack is arriving on December 9th called The Dark Below with PS4 owners getting an extra strike mission in the pack.

Finished the Vault of Glass with some buddies last night. End boss with the new tweaks drove everyone crazy. But after a few deaths and a strategy, we did it. Walked away with Plan C.

Level up to max, and run it again on hard mode.
