Eventually Stark will find out about it, and that will be a big deal. But even outside of that, Buck's at least a known HYDRA super assassin linked to who knows how many kills. Cap is risking a lot just being seen palling around with him.

Not a fan of the costume is my initial reaction, but I'm sure it is fine.

The face is very classic Spidey, but I am more of a fan of the larger eyes on the mask and think they nailed it in Amazing Spiderman 2

I like it. He's always expressed emotion through his eyes in the comics, so it makes sense to use that technology.
In previous films spidey had to get the shit kicked out of him and have his mask ripped to show any emotion. This is better, imo. |

Yeah, you prob right.... initial instinct is "it makes no sense for a costume to have animated eyes", but then... you know.... pretty much everything is "unrealistic" because it is a comic book movie, so it actually fits right in. Will prob be fine.

Marked out hard at Spidey, but didn't expect him to be on Team Iron Man. I like the costume also.

Even though he probably didn't (never read the comics), going to just assume Spiderman pulled a "Hollywood Hogan" with the heel turn on Iron Man.

This is the best looking Superhero movie coming out right now. It's leaps and bounds ahead of anything else. Can't wait to see it.

His eyes aren't Deadpool animated they had a servo sound to it. Guessing its optical tech in universe, but of course to have the expressive effect like Deadpool. I'm cool with the costume overall. Amazing 2 perfected it on screen and the only way to go was to make an MCU version to differentiate from Amazing and Raimi.

i think this movie has a chance of actually making civil war more interesting as in, in the comics, it was impossible to root for ironman's side, he was just a gigantic asshole, but here, with RDJ's charm I think he might actually seem like a good choice or something |

Quote:
I've never liked the civil war comic. You have to have certain suspension of disbelief when reading comics, as there are plenty of plot holes. The biggest of which is that thengovernment would just let thousands of super powered vigilantes run amok. As readers we're able to ignore itand enjoy the comic, but when it is the focal point of the story, you can't ignore it, and it shatters any suspension of disbelief you had. Marvel's tagline was "pick a side", but superhero registration is such a realistic, and logical choice, that tney had to write a bunch of pro reg people completely out of character, almost to the point of being villains, for anyone to pick cap's side. That's why involving bucky is a brilliant stroke. Because now it can genuinely pull the audience in two directions. While the registration act may be a good idea, you may not be too keen on it if they were imprisoning a friend who was only a victim. The whole thing makes it much easier to empathize with cap's viewpoint. |

Very much look forward to seeing this. I do still feel concern with the amount of characters on screen. However, Stark and Cap are far and away my favorite characters of the universe, and Winter Soldier was my fav Marvel movie.
Pretty certain this will hit it out of the park. |

I think there was more nuance to Civil War 616 then you're giving it credit for. Sure Stark was written as a light antagonist overall but there were valid points for both sides. The fallout of Spidey unmasking being a major one.

So early screenings or whatever of this have been getting amazing reviews, with a lot of praise going to Spider-Man's portrayal. Can't remember if it was by critics or Marvel fans in particular though, but either way it just adds to my excitement.

Yeah, heard that too. Not that I doubted Marvel for a second. I mean the idea of an actually bad Marvel movie is pretty much an alien concept at this point.
DC fanboys are gonna be shitting all over it though just in retaliation for Batman v Superman lol. |

A bad Marvel movie is still miles above anything DC puts out.

That's the thing, Marvel really hasn't ever put out a bad movie to begin with. Even the "worst" of Marvel's movies have still been well structured, good movies. They just weren't up to par compared to the other Marvel movies. So, yeah, basically what I'm saying is that Marvel seems incapable of making truly bad movies at this point. It's like instead of bad/good/great Marvel movies have got good/great/greater.

The great thing about the Marvel flicks is they all offer something different.
Cap is very spy thriller/political Ant-Man was a great heist comedy Guardians obviously was awesome sci-fi etc. |

The lowest tier MCU movie to me was Incredible Hulk and that was still on point. They made Ant-Man fun.
They shit gold. The only way for DC to compete is to let Bruce Timm or Greg Bertanelli (CWverse) run their movie universe. Zack Snyder is to polarizing to handle a movie universe that is contingent on going on forward. |

For the life of me I have no idea why WB/DC doesnt build on what they already have succeeded on in the Arrow/Flash/Nolanverse characters and rolling them into the flicks.
I'll say the same about the MCU as well for that matter...at this point, if Daredevil and Punisher dont make it onto the big screen in supporting roles at some point it would be a crime. |
