I thought Punk wasn't elligible for awhile.......
Gonna throw him a vote just because I don't think this will be close, especially with how much the IWC has turned on Punk. I still love him, though........ |

Idk, Destor said I could do it a bit different if I wanted. Figured Punk would be an even match with HBK

HBK's catalogue of classics is undeniable. Punk was fun sometimes, but HBK is a god damned legend.

Never been a fan of Punk. In fact the last time I stopped watching for a while was his long title reign. He's got an understanding of the business and can be entertaining but the strait edge stuff I wasn't a fan of. Rightfully so as that was the intention but I never really got past it and his character continued that undertone. Not bad on his part but he just didn't clique with me.

Oh my god this ones EASY HBK
CM Punk may have his die hard cult of fans and Chicago thinks he walks on water But he is nowhere near HBK despite what he'll tell you. He had a great match with DB but ffor all his bitching about not being in the ME at mania he just never came across as that guy theres a reason DB got it because hes better and because he felt like Main Event material. And seriously HBK is just that dude Punk may know more moves than HBK but he cant string them together like HBK. Punk is better on the mic (in fact his mouth got him over) But I don't think Shawn has ever even had a bad match. |

I don't disagree, it was a great gimmick and got me to hate the guy. He carried that persona with him throughout his career which isn't a bad thing. The guy understands the business outside the ring. I've never been a real big fan of his in ring work although I'll admit I tuned out for most his main event run.

I guess the biggest difference in my dislike for Punk and Bryan is the way WWE presented them. While I really didn't buy Bryan as a main event talent WWE presented him as so and I wanted to see HHH or who ever beat him. Punk was believable as a main event talent but I just didn't care enough about him.

HBM easily here. Punk is good and all, but I feel like the whole pipe bomb thing has made people greatly exaggerate just how good he actually is.

CM Punk.
No doubt HBK is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest of all time, but Punk just always captivated me so much more. His in-ring skills were easily on par with Michaels, but he has a much more "real" style in the ring and on the mic. His delivery was so intense and engaging. |

Punk is a world class douchebag at least HBK could blame drugs. |

Punk better on the mic and that's about it. He made the most out of what he had athletically, but HBK was on a whole other level as an athlete. Just compare the top rope elbow drop of the two.
Said it every round, but HBK's ability to bring emotion into a storyline and really make the audience feel what was happening is what makes him so special. Punk had great delivery, but basically, he was angry because he thought he was better than Cena (lol). He only had one switch, legitimate anger. Overrated in the extreme for me. |

I was thinking of alternating Undertaker with Steve Austin but I went with Taker because of he and HBK's rivalry. I guess we can all agree mine would've been the way to go then.

Punk can talk a good game, but only had a couple of really outstanding matches. One being against DB, as others have already said, and the other being against Y2J. His match with Rock could've maybe been something special at Royal Rumble (2013), where his 434-day WWE Championship reign was ended at the hands of The Great One. Punk also had the look, but ultimately a lot of unrealized potential during his time in WWE.
Shawn, on the other hand, cut great promos, had an awesome look, and far too many outstanding matches to list. We all know he's not called Mr. WrestleMania for nothing. So, yeah... easy vote for HBK. |

Cena match had way better heat. Bryan match better action. But ill agree in that heat usually trumps great action. Feel like Bryan and Punk had a lot of crowd heat though just not cena punk levels which is impossible in this day and age

I don't know which Jericho match he was referencing but the Extreme Rules match I would put above the Bryan match as far as action. Next to the Cena MITB match, it's definitely my favorite Punk WWE match. It actually kinda felt like an old school HBK match. It was beautiful.

HBK definetely. His old stuff is great, didn't care much for his later stuff. The comedy shit with Triple H sucked ass. CM Punk seemed way too cocky (yeah, HBK too, but it somehow fit him), I loved it when he got his ass handed to him in the UFC.
