Just got done with another onlne session. Sent kalyx an invite but missed him by like 2 seconds.

And yeah, played like 20 matchesand they were all either against ken, sakura, or akuma. Played this one dude for a while who would just alternate between ken and sakura. But after I ABSOLUTELY DISMANTLED his sakura with my abel, he stuck with ken. Finished up with an incredibly epic Ryu vs Ken fight. With me being ken for a change. Was even on the molten rock stage for added pelvic-thrustingly epicness.

First round was pretty technical tbh. Lots of nice combos, wake ups, and general zoning strategy. Beat him with a wake up EX shoryuken. Second round was a lot sloppier, as I spent the second half of the round trying to catch him with my Ultra, but failed miserabley, due to my previously mentioned problems with the 360 controller. o he won that round.

Third round was so awesome you'd think it was staged. Traded shoryukens at the start of the match, and just traded hits the whole round. Both of us went for our supers and both wereavoided. At the very end, we both have a sliver of lfe left, and he goes for ryu's ultra. I see it coming tho and have time to jump straight up over the haduken. He jumps in, and I FINALLY hit ken's ultra combo shoryuken to take him out of the air and win the match.

I totally came in my pantsafter that one.

I like to use everyone, but I'm definitely going to be maining abel. Was kicking ass as E.Honda for a little while too.

El Fuete was completely useless, however. His little running like a fucking idiot move has good potential, cause you can do a couple fake outs and goade the other person into making themselves vunerable, but it's going to take a while o get good at it.

So for the moment, I hate el fuerte.

I was unlocking Akuma and Gouken, which pretty much means I'm done with the roster (fuck Seth). Kinda sad at the amount of work they want for colors. Not to unlock a color edit mode, but just colors. You'd think preset colors went out with Tekken 4, but here we are. Which leads me to one of those wish lists...

Hypothetical "Street Fighter 4: Championship Edition/Turbo/Hyper Fighter/Dash"
  • Color Edit Mode. Older games had it for free, and I wanna be really demanding, shoot us some parts and attire so we could edit our new 3D modeled characters. One of Sakura's post fight messages is suggesting to Chun-Li that they switch costumes. A sign of things already on Capcom's minds?
  • Online lobbies should have one or two more spaces. Doesn't have to have six like HD Remix, but two is a bit lazy.
  • Like HD Remix, blind character select for Rank Matches. I don't need to see who my opponent is going to choose and vice versa. Look how quick the process goes in HD Remix without some jackoff trying to counter-pick your character.
  • As far as new characters, I think the three major eras should be represented. Karin from Alpha, Dee Jay from SF2, and Yun or Ibuki from SF3. Though it seems Dee Jay and T. Hawk is confirmed for some sort of update in the future.
  • That's it, this game is fucking awesome.

Femme Fatale pack comes out soon. Chun li's new outfit is good, but it's not her alpha suit like I was hoping. Cammy's is her killer bee outfit, and looks awesome. Sakura has a karate gi thing going on that looks kinda neato. C.Viper and Rose's are forgettable.

Time Attack stage 11 is awesome. The rules are for both you and CPOU:

No Ultras, No Throw Escape, No EX Special, No Target Combos (not even sure what that one is), No Dashing and it's 12 stages of just SSF2 characters, ending with Balrog, Vega, Sagat, Bison. Pure SSF2T.

Just played a bit more then, still haven't won an online match but had a fun series of 4 matches against some random guy and gotten used to Ryu. I'm having a bit of trouble pulling off a Shoyryouken or however you spell it, 8/10 in training I can pull it off but if I try in an online/offline match it tends to either be a Hadoken or a normal punch.

I wish there was a "preview" button for the trisal mode, where it shows the cpu doing the combo. Pretty much every other fighting game has something like it, and the fact that street fighter,which has much more precise timing requirements, doesn't have it, is kind of bullshit. Makes the trials like 10 times harder than they ought to be, cause you have no idea what the timing is for each move in a combo.

I am pretty happy at the moment.

As of recently, I've been trolling CheapAssGamer (as everyone in here should) and noticed that Gamestop was selling old Hori EX2 joysticks for 39.99. I didn't think it was much of a chance, considering every website on earth is out of nearly every type of arcade joystick, and I'm sure plenty of gamers have scoured the earth for anything that will work for SFIV. But I checked the store locator on the website, and low and behold...a Gamestop an hour away had one.

So I called up and they had it and I had them reserve it for me. All the way in Winder, GA (middle of nowhere), but it was close enough to UGA that I figured I would just make a day out of it.

So I get in the store and get in line, and the guy in front of me asks the guy at the counter how many fightsticks they have for any console at the store. I am absolutely relieved that I reserved it a few hours earlier, because I'm pretty positive this guy might have bought it had he been given a chance. Luckily, the store guy informed him mine was reserved...and he bought the other two fightsticks they had left. The guy said he ran a gaming website and needed the Wii Fightsticks for a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom tourneys going on soon.

So hopefully when I get home tomorrow I will open it up and find it in good condition. If not, I'll just buy some better parts for it. 40 bucks for a stick is a steal.

The only thing that pisses me off is the 8 o' clock to 2 o' clock motion for Fei Lons's flying kicks. I got so used to SSF2THDR's fireball motion.
