I dunno, I'm a bit skeptical that Bryan was really ever going to go elsewhere.

If WWE never cleared him by the end of his contract, I'm sure he would have. I'm more convinced after his speech on Smackdown.
Getting cleared by WWE was the ultimate goal, but he could have also thought that spending a year on the indies and being fine could have been a path back to WWE had this not all happened. |

Yeah, this is why I'm not worried about Bryan:

It wouldn't surprise me if contract negotiations greased some wheels and convinced the WWE to look at things again, but I just don't think he would have left seven figures on the table to go and take bumps in Mexico and ruin his wife's show and all that sort of stuff. |

The impact test after every single match feels to me like this is not someone who should be wrestling.
Hope I'm wrong and it's juts precautionary, but it seems like overkill from people who are extremely worried |

Yeah it's pretty smart. Only problem is it's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. The second he takes a knock on the noggin, he's pretty much fucked.

I don't see how that does anything. It won't stop his brain from being mush the next time he gets his bell rung.

Who cares? He is a grown man. If he wants to wrestle why should anyone tell him different? He knows the risks, if there are any.

I'm a huge hockey fights fan, but seeing what has happened to guys like Wade Belak, Stephan Peat, Matt Johnson, Steve Montador, the list goes on and on as a result of repeated concussions, it's make you rethink things.

I mean I've read the articles as well. And we saw how it effected a guy like Benoit. But he was pretty much begging for concussion after concussion.
Hockey fighters literally get punched in the head every night. The way guys wrestle now, is meant to avoid head trauma. Bryan's style certainly was, but if makes a few changes and avoids the unnecessary stuff, he won't go the way of the hockey enforcer. Plus, baseline tests every night will keep him relatively safe. The second he gets his bell rung, that's pretty much it. |

It's definitely not avoiding trauma and Bryan's style was definitely not avoiding it. Top rope diving head butt, top rope flat back missile dropkick, suicide dive etc...
At their peak a fighter was maybe fighting 30 times a season. Hardly the same as taking bumps 300 days a year. |

Sorry I made a typo. I meant Bryan was conducive to trauma and he needed to change his style.

The baseline tests basically will diagnose a concussion that already occurred. The concussion still happened. With his history the next one could be it. I don't want to see another Matt Johnson where he a homeless pill head. It happens far more often than people realize.

You're a little sensitive to the matter. Those guys were subjected to more abuse thanBryan

He was cleared though, so I think that means, in the likely case he gets another concussion, he can take some time off and heal up a bit, and then go back. He's not going to die if he gets another concussion, he's going to get another concussion, almost every wrestler will. The point of him being cleared is that if he gets another concussion, he isn't in some kind of red zone danger area, it would be just like a normal person getting a concussion.

I'm sorry. But I don't subscribe to everything being a concussion. It's the new SJW culture in sport. Like most things, the truth lies in the middle.
You notice how Mats Sundin (who was dealing with heavy body contact every night) didn't suffer the same trauma as Wade Belak? You don't think Mats was taking lumps to the dome? Enforcers were subjected to a fight pretty much every night they played. And likely remained quiet about concussion symptoms as a means to keep their job. Bryan's style in the ring has always been high intensity, and it caught up with him. But it's not the same as subjecting yourself to maliciously thrown haymakers at your head, night in and night out. |

I would compare what happened to Daniel Bryan with what happened to Sidney Crosby. Looked like "the kid" was done, and he's been better than ever. It's not like he isn't getting his ass run into the boards night after night. |

Thisnisnt complicated: wwe legal used danielson as leverage in a law suit. This is and always was fake news. |
