Where the 'Kai tells a Legends Show story

So, I just got back from a Legends of Wrestling show. A few things I can tell you about...

* A friend bought me a ticket for $20. Meeting the Legends was a VIP package for $300. He wasn't going to buy me that, and I don't blame him.
* I did get to shake hands with Ricky Morton and Hacksaw before the show. A guy I went with got to meet Jesse Sorenson, Knux, and Tatanka. I know the joke is coming, but I want to make it later.
* I felt bad that no one went to meet Greg Valentine or Ron Simmons. If I had VIP, I would have met them. Everyone was there to see Ric Flair and the Rock n Roll Express. I'm guessing Flair was the reason the VIP Package was $300.
* There was a "dark match" for the show, which was a tag team spot fest between two local guys. Most notable one was Anthony Henry. He took the fall.
* Show formally opens with Ric Flair cutting a promo. The "Legends of Wrestling" deal was set up by Knobbs and Saggs. He talked briefly about how the Christenberry Fieldhouse was nicer than the Bell Auditorium (which it is).
* Ring announcer was David Penzer.
* I'm not going to go into most of the match qualities. Because it is exactly what you'd expect, however, I'll mention some thoughts. No heels won, which is good.
* A guy hailing from Syria comes out for a match I say to a friend "I know who HE is gonna face." And yep, it was Jim Duggan.
* Line of the night came from local guy vs. Andrew Anderson (who?). Local guy say he isn't a legend, and he is right. Anderson replies "I'm not a legend, BUT MY STEP-DADDY IS!!!!" and he brings out his Stepfather, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.
* Someone said "Valentine isn't having a match." Another friend said, "He's wrestling with sobriety." I reply, "And losing." Side note: My group is filled with horrible people.
* Much of the Aces and Eights B-team served as jobber fodder for the Legends that were wrestling. I only recognized three of them: Sorenson, Knux, and Brisco.
* Ron Simmons grabbed two of them and told them that two legends were going to give them a legendary ass kicking and teach them a legendary lesson. He brings out... Buff Bagwell and Johnny Swinger. At this point, I have to say the term "Legend" is completely meaningless. Gigolo and Swinger went over, but I think Bagwell hurt his knee. Unfortunately, I still didn't get to take a shit in his hat. Fuck that guy.
* There was a tag team hardcore match between two more Aces and Eights B-Teamers, one of them being Knux, and the team of Jerry Saggs and Gangrel. Knobbs was allegedly taken out before the match. Saggs bladed. Knobbs came out on a crutch and dragged a trash can to Gangrel to help set up the finish. After the match, Saggs handed out weapons used during the match.
*Intermission is next, so they could clean up the little bit of blood we got from Jerry. Rock n Roll Express was selling merch.
*This is the whole point of this post right here. I got to shake Robert Gibson's hand, and I asked Ricky Morton the question on everyone's mind: "How did you get off that Cherry Picker?" He looked at me for a long moment as if I had smoked some of the shit Jeff Hardy is on. Then he realized what I was referencing. He then said "I was up there all night! They didn't let me down til the next week! It was cold that night, too. About 20 degrees outside." I believe exactly one part of that story, but it was too awesome NOT to share here.
*After Intermission, Wes Brisco faces Tatanka. His name means "Buffalo," and from the look of him, it was kind of an appropriate nickname. Post match, Brisco is a spoiled sport and jumps Tatanka. Gangrel makes the save. I say to a friend "I don't remember playing Vampires and Indians as a kid."
*Rock n Roll Express wrestled local guys. Wade Adams (the only one I was familiar with) and the other guy get to have the distinction of being the last wrestlers Ricky and Robert faced before getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
*Rick Steiner, filling in for his brother Scott, wrestled Sorenson in the Main Event. Scott was there, but underwent shoulder surgery. It was sad. Booker T ran in to help Rick win.

"KARA-TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Question Mark.

I thought Buff was dead. Glad he's not.

Johnny Swinger needs work I guess. Might as well call Simon Diamond a legend.
