Scott Hall. Even his punches were tremendous. One of the first great big man worker in the WWF in a long time. A big shift from the slow, jacked up big men.

Hard one, but Scott Hall for me.
Loved him as Razor and he had some awesome matches. He was a favourite of mine growing up. Him and HBK's ladder match was so good. I think he was extremely underrated as an in ring performer. Honestly, him as Razor would be tough enough for me to choose from because i was such a big fan and he gave me more memorable moments as a performer growing up, but then he jumped to WCW, did a little thing called the New World Order and revolutionised the business. Another cool match up with the links between the two, Diamond Dallas vs Diamond Studd and nowadays DDP joga. Also two of my all time favourite finishers. Hall takes it though, not just for his, imo, superior in ring ability, but also his massive contribution to what being a modern wrestler is. |

DDP.
In all fairness this could have gone either way, but back in the WCW days I was such a huge DDP mark. And plus, since his active career ended DDP has excelled with his DDP Yoga and helped so many people, including Scott Hall. Scott Hall, on the other hand, had the world at his fingertips in WCW, and had a lazy, piss-poor attitude, which spiraled into drug and alcohol abuse. Not knocking Hall though, both men are legends. But DDP wins this one for me. |

Scott Hall.
Just his Charisma alone was enough and then you add his impact on the Monday Night Wars and being one of the first Intercontinental Champions to hold the belt more than 3 times. DDP was Great but Hall was just that much better. |

Went with DDP
No real reason other than Ive been exposed to far more of DDP than Scott Hall side note as a kid it was a bit weird to me that Halls Razor Ramon character was a face. If this was a battle of their theme songs I'd be torn. |

Went for Scott Hall because he was better at his role than DDP. Page wasn't a wrestler. He planned every move out and couldn't go catch as catch can style. DDP might have reached the World Title but it was at a point where who was WCW Champion didn't mean shit.
Hall did more with the IC and the WCW Tag Team Titles than Page ever did with the Big Gold Belt. Hall elevated those props rather than having the props elevating him. |

hmmmm.... somehow I procrastinated on voting in the Raven/Bray Wyatt matchup..... and then COMPLETELY missed the Raven/DDP match even happening.....
Which brings us to this match! Really interesting match, and I'm honestly having a hard time..... Scott Hall definitely had a bigger "impact" and "legacy"..... but for me, he went downhill quick in WCW and I wasn't interested in him at all when he came back to WWE with the nWo. DDP, on the other hand, kept getting "better", and I loved his WCW run. His WWE run he also did go quickly downhill.... only to raise to never before seen heights via feuding with all-time great Christian! Anyways..... I think overall I have a lot more fond memories of DDP than I do Scott Hall. Plus the Diamond Cutter "is GOAT". For that reason, I give the nod to DDP. |

Scott Hall. My second favorite of all-time, no contest for me. No doubt in my mind that if he could have kept his demons in line, he'd have been in the "greatest of all-time" coversation as he had it all.

In all seriousness I preferred DDP, he was one of the first wrestlers I became a mark for when I started watching. Always found myself enjoying his matches, and I'm always a sucker for a finisher that can be hit OUTTA NOWHERE. Diamond Cutter motherfuckers.
Since I started watching in 1998, basically my first exposure to Scott Hall was him vomiting on Eric Bischoff. Love the old Razor Ramon stuff now I've gone back and watched it but still love DDP's old stuff too. Just personal preference but these are both good choices. Glad to see the poll is tight. |

DDPYoga and his work with Jake and Scott has zero to do with how good a wrestler he was

If you look at the success and the body of work through both promotions I don't know how you can't go with Hall. Love DDP and all. But Scott Hall had the "Jake the Snake" main even status in both feds. Not a world champ but always one of the biggest and most over stars.
WCW was DDP's playground and when he came to WWE even though he did his best to make something out of nothing, it was a forgettable run. Plus Razor was just the fucking business, chico. |

Tough choice but went with Scott Hall.
Hall pretty much edges out DDP in everything except WWE/WCW champion tier success. Very likely could have matched DDP there had he staid in WWE or not struggled with drinking/drugs problems and Hogan in WCW. Both were good in terms of in-rings skills but Hall had the better character/gimmick, promo skills, and overall package. If non-wrestling stuff was counted, DDP's greatest success as a wrestler would be his Yoga series mainly for how helpful its been for the lives of several wrestlers and regular people in general. |

Tbh a lot of these threads have people voting for one candidate or another based on things like promo work which also is unrelated who was better as an actual wrestler. Better overall act? Sure. But being the best wrestler technically implies you're only looking into what goes on in the ring. So in something like that ring charisma/presence is important but their actual promos or how they're pushed would be irrelevant.
I should know, I myself have needed to search for tiebreakers in some of these matchups where I really love both and don't have clear preferences for how much I like them in the ring. Genuinely preferred DDP in this matchup but have no qualms if Hall beats him. Both are excellent. |

When i put together a roster i need guys who can cut a promo. I will hire them to be wrestlers based off that. I will not book shane douglas based off him being the best damn target manager ive ever seen

There is no doubt that cutting a promo is key to being a good PERFORMER. But cutting a promo isn't something that happens in the middle of a match (well, not usually). And during the match is where the wrestling takes place. Therefore, if somebody wants to discuss who is the better WRESTLER, they might choose to put a high focus on the in-ring work of those being discussed.

The biggest failures in wrestling can be summed up in one sentence "unfortunately the bell had to ring."

My point is that these threads just like any other wrestling discussion are subjective because we all have different tastes on what is important to our own personal enjoyment of a wrestler.
We've seen it in these threads "this guy always put on great matches but his character was boring, so I went with the other guy". And others went the other way for the opposite reason because to them their main enjoyment is watching dudes work in the ring. |

I was watching an Al Snow shoot once. Ask Al Snow what the best match of WrestleMania 3 was.
Spoiler alert: it's not Savage/Steamboat based on what his personally defined metrics of what a good match are. |

When i vote in these things, i think about all the aspects that create a great professional wrestler, from his in ring talent, to his look, to his character, to his charisma, presence, promos, psychology etc...Right down to if his theme got the crowd buzzing and if his finisher was established. If you don't fix down on the literal meaning if wrestler and think of it more as "Better Professional Wrestler" these things are more fun to debate and discuss. Everyone will interpret which of these things are most important and what matters most and i think that's the fun part of it |
