WWE Attendence Issues - Will WrestleMania be affectes?

Do you think WWE’s attendence issues of selling under 5k per arena for Raw and SD’s could mean WM won’t sell as well?

I remember last year Meltzer reporting it took a long time for WWE to sell 55k seats compared to in year’s past. Personally, I think WM will still sell really well but was curious what everyone else thinks - are we looking at 40k attendence in the Superdome (that they would label as 60k no doubt)

They'll fill the Superdome. It's WrestleMania. People will go to "celebrate wrestling" at this point. And even when it does start to become less of a big deal because all the true stars are too old to be a part of it, they'll be able to paper it a bit to fill the arena for another few years.

WWE.com just confirmed Ticket Prices will range from $35 to 1,000 (I think that's less than usual, smart move on their part).

Seating in the first 9 rows will cost $2,000

No at least for the near future. Wrestlemania at this point sells mainly because of its name alone and even if domestic sales declined, it probably would get made up easily by people traveling from outside the US to see the event.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Around WrestleMania time, the WWE will usually put up some sort of attraction that will get people going. Ticket sales were slow going into WrestleMania 32, so they got Shane back and put him against Taker. If ticket sales are going slow, they will get The Rock on that poster or they'll beg Shawn Michaels to come back. I don't think it's as clear-cut as "It's WrestleMania -- it's always full" because the product is so cold and you do hear of the slower sellouts. But because WWE are marks for WrestleMania, they will put everything they have into getting it huge. Well, not necessarily good booking or people in the right places on the card, but they will throw money at the problem to make it go away for appearance's sake, whereas they don't care about Hell in a Cell. I mean, they've tried to sell out these shows -- Brock and Shane were on them, but it's not "call in the big guns" for those ones.

Also, WrestleMania has become a week for even those rubbing their hands at the idea of Vince taking that bullet and deciding he needs to buckle down. Everyone flocks to wherever WrestleMania is, and there are legends conventions, high-profile indy show, comedy feds and New Japan will be there. Even if you don't like WWE, there's still enough around the weekend to go and see and do, and if you're there, why not go and boo Roman Reigns?

I think it would be a different story if the week weren't so big and WWE still locked guys out of town. I still think they'd sell out, but they'd have to use the stars bigger than wrestling, lower ticket prices, book smaller arenas eventually, etc. It would eventually become an issue (remember when WWE had to relocate WrestleMania VII?), but when it becomes a more pressing issue the WWE will realize it needs new stars -- real stars -- and then it will try to create those, and they will be able to sell out Hell in a Cell.

If things get real dire and they can't create new stars, they will take WrestleMania to places they know they can sell out. England will get a WrestleMania, India will get a WrestleMania -- you get the drill. That will help them sell it out, "everything's great," and keep the myth of the event alive even if they are finding it harder to cover up that they are dropping domestically. By that point though? If the WWE can no longer sell out WrestleMania domestically? I'd say that something else has taken WWE's place and we're thinking about the problem in more terminal terms. It wouldn't be about whether or not they crawl towards those ticket sales, but whether or not there will be a WrestleMania, because there will be something else stealing their wrestling fans.
