Hmm, I went with Hawk over D-Von because, while neither guy had a lot of singles success, I saw clear potential for Hawk to have a better run on his own if he were to be given the chance. But Bubba actually did see success as a solo guy and I fucking loved Bully Ray.
Bubba's first "singles run" in 2002 failed, but I use that in quotes because they totally half-assed it as he was still teaming up with Spike more often than not. I remember him cutting a really great promo on Triple H that they did nothing with, and that was that. When he finally got the chance to be Bully Ray though, he hit it out of the fucking park. TNA had long been a joke but I went out of my way to tune in just to see whatever Bully Ray was doing. I won't hold the fact that it was TNA against him, because the personality and promo skills were always there and I think he could've ascended into a reliable upper card heel for WWE had they given him the opportunity. It's close, but I gotta go Bubba. |

Bubba. Very close in my eyes, but Bubba had success (albeit with TNA) as a singles star and Hawk never did....

Bubba on the mic, getting grown men in the 90s to get so angry like that. Just amazing.

Wasn't paying attention, honestly. Still love him most for ECW and TLC matches.

Dunno. Not a fan of Bubba in the ring. Kind of a fat sloppy walk n brawler. Thought he was great during the TLC years but Hawk was a fucking badass. Never believed in Bubba.

Bubba ft and away better as a singles guy. Fantastic promo at times and had real personality.
Hawk needed to be in a tag, Bubba didn't |

Bubba I hate to admit it but TNA got me to do what WWE failed at:seeing Bubba as a singles guy
Neither is very technically sound but I think bubba had more in his arsenal mic-wise Hawk and animal cut the ever popular muscle bound shouty wrestler promo (and they did it well) But Bubba could bring fans to near riot. |

God damn it, I really don't want to vote Bubba...
Personally, I've never really liked the guy. I did check out his heel run in TNA, but another thing to consider is that it's TNA. If Hawk were around and went to TNA and got to cut loose, I'm sure he could beat Eric Young or whoever it was for their "World Title" too. Bubba's a confident speaker, but it's never meant much to me. I can't remember when he actually made me invest in something. It could be argued that the energy Hawk brought arguably did more to lure people into wrestling. I don't remember any particularly great Bubba matches, even though he got more of a platform to deliver on that front. Hell, he still has the platform, but he's busy showing off his tope con hilos. I just find something about Bubba unbelievable. Always have. Even when he got into shape for the TNA run, it was just him shouting about New York and how big his calves were. If Bubba were fat for that run (and granted, he wasn't, so this could be seen as a moot point), then that run would have just been Bubba Dudley as World Champ. And it arguably was. Good for him getting that run, but when he returned to the WWE he was still more valuable as Bubba Ray Dudley. As for the tag team stuff -- Road Warriors just completely trump Dudley Boyz in terms of importance, in my opinion. Road Warriors are arguably the team. The Dudley Boyz has a lot of success, and make a good "kayfabe case" for being the best (most title reigns, etc.), but outside their run with The Hardys and Edge & Chrstian, I've always found them to be an act that got stale real fast, hence the constant face/heel turns. This sounds like a diatribe against Bubba. I don't really have a big problem with him. I just think he's overrated by a lot of people who forget just how small the pond was in TNA, just how easy it is to call women whores, and just how easy it is to get over when you're working with The Hardys and Edge & Christian. Not that they're shit, but just overrated. Fuck it, I'm going Hawk. He did more at a time where more was more important, and lets not kid outselves -- Bubba Ray Dudley didn't crack it as a singles star in WWE today, so how well do you think he would have faired in earlier eras? |

Voted for Bubba.
With the Hawk-Devon matchup, it was more of a tossup but went with Hawk because I felt Devon's singles run was pretty bad or not memorable. Don't have the same issue with Bubba's singles run. Of the Dudleys, Bubba had a better singles run even if most of his best moments came in TNA. Between Bubba and Hawk, leaned towards Bubba due to seeing more of his stuff. Also leaned towards Bubba due to him being pretty good with promos especially during his ECW days. |

For me, always the Warriors bar none....favourite tag team of all time...that doesn't mean the Dudley's are bad in any way. I feel that Hawk had the potential to be a big singles star if he had've had the chance so I went with him.

Very tough. I was originally gonna go with Bubba but voted Hawk since Bubba seems to be running away with it. I want this to be closer.

Didn't get to vote but would have voted Bubba. Im no fan of the guy but he was I think very underrated as a singles wrestler and got lost at a time when WWE was overloaded with stars. I think he could've been a serious midcard contender if WWE used him differently.
