Terminator Dark Fate
OG Sarah Connor is back, and James Cameron is involved. Yeah, I'm feeling good about this one. |

A great film that never should have been a franchise

So where does it fit in the series? Is this a sequel to T2 and we disavow all the other films?

I'm okay with that.
I didn't hate T3 or Genesis. They were totally fucking dumb, but I enjoyed them for what they were. Glad we have what looks like a more capable sequel here. Hope it's good! |

I want to be excited, especially since I love the franchise and Terminator 2 is one of my all-time favourite movies.
But with that said, I'm just not feeling it. Feels like Linda Hamilton and James Cameron returning to the franchise is a desperate attempt to make people care. Plus, the CGI in that trailer looks pretty naff. |

For all James Cameron's bitching about superhero films the Terminators now move like/resemble superhero film characters a lot.

James Cameron is a world class arsehole but I will always love him for Terminator, T2, True Lies and The Abyss.

Aliens didn't affect me as much as the listed films despite it being an excellent film. I think I just lump it in with the Alien franchise.

Aliens is just a different movie but Alien just has something special about it much like Abyss

It actually took me three or four separate attempts to watch The Abyss fully. I just couldn't get into it for some reason, then when I finally did see it all I couldn't rate it highly enough.

First saw it at a D&D convention back in the 90's and was hooked. Try to watch it a few times a year now and am never disappointed.

Terminator Genisys was an okay movie that I'm glad isn't cannon. T3 was entertaining. Salvation was so far in the future that it wasn't damaging anything.
Would have liked a movie built off of The Sarah Conner Chronicles, tho. I cried during that lava scene at the end of Judgement Day. Like a little baby. I was like 5 or 6...the things you remember. |

Terminator Genisys is probably the worst major franchise sequel ever made. I include every Halloween, Friday the 13th, Predator, Alien, Rocky, Rambo, Fast and Furious.... Dumb and Dumberer... Everything you can think of, it is worse than.
Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor - might as well have cast Peter Dinklage as The Terminator. |

Peter Dinklage would be a better Sarah Connor too, Linda Hamilton was... not hot...

Peter Dinklage would make for a great soccer mom, too.

With Genesis It’s almost like they wanted to take the subject matter seriously, but didn’t have the balls to do it. This all the goofy stuff that awkwardly stood out.
However I don’t go into these movies with any sort of expectations so I typically end up enjoying them despite their flaws. What I can’t ignore is when a movie is boring. Like the most recent Fantastic Four. I don’t think I’ve seen anything that was as by the numbers as that film. |

I liked T3 for what it was. It at least tried to tell a story branching off the 2nd one and while it wasn't a masterpiece, it's better than anything they've come out with since. Salvation was bad and its just gotten worse.

Yeah... T3 was an alright action flick that at least tried to do its own thing and stand on its own.
Salvation I don't really remember at all. Genisys was a movie very much "concerned" with setting up sequels and a new franchise... and forgot to actually make a decent movie in the process I enjoyed The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and thought Lena Heady made a good Sarah Connor.... |

That's the most positive thing I've heard so far, James Cameron re-hiring a black listed junkie woman beater to play the only role he's known for.

He made a lot of films bud, I'm sitting here looking at a copy of Animal Factory but he's known for T2.

It was fun. The best sequel since T3.... of course still nowhere near the first two.
