Rate the Game: Week 142
Yay, I can get around to this early. We're set to say adios to the month of July, but we've got more fuckery to which to attend. Can't believe more than half of the year is already gone. I hope you've been using the time for great games! Even better, games that are great and are also on our leaderboard! Speaking of which, last week's Syphon Filter needs a spot on the list. A fairly divisive outing, but what does the average have to say about all of that jazz? Behold!
Well, a solid 3.0 average puts it in some good company, but not in an outstanding overall position as it lands at number 113. Throughout all the twists and turns of this endeavor, the one constant comfort we can all rely on is that Ghosts n' Goblins still owns that last place spot. For now, at least. Who's to say if what's next can fall harder? What do we have in store for this week? Talk to us, bowl... The weekly ritual has been performed and we've got our game for the week. It's time to put Bethesda in the hot seat, this time as we explore the trials and tribulations of one Corvo Attano! It's a revenge-fueled romp through a plague-infested world as this week's game is none other than Dishonored! It had a lot of work behind it and it ultimately garnered a hefty amount of praise, but how do you feel about it? Are talking about a can't miss hit from Bethesda? I leave the floor open to you all as we kick off week 142 of this party. Until next week! No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes... ...again. |

Marked haven't played because I never played more than about 2 hours or so. Nothing really "pulled me in" to the game, and then it would get uninstalled as I would make room for others.
Even with both of them on Gamepass.... Nope |

Gave it a 4.
It was a really cool game at the time with all the different ways you could play. |

So this is certainly a first for me here on Rate the Game. While I have not played it to date, I am in possession of it as it's one of my downloaded games from way back when, so I am in a position to start this puppy and rate it. In fact, let me get on it right now.

Gave it a 4.
I remember enjoying playing it a lot but gave up on trying to do a mostly pacifist or low chaos run near the end of the game once the assassins or whatever those masked guys with special powers were called started popping up. Still managed to get the low chaos ending though even with the full on murdering spree for the last 2-3 missions. Dishonored might have also been the first time I ever played a game from Bethesda. |

Wrapped up the first parts of the game, you know, the whole prison escape, sewer diving, and dream sequence in the pub. Graphically, it's along the lines of what a lot of games were doing around that time, like BioShock: Infinite and Thief. They don't really aim for realism, which can be great if the style is interesting to look at. It handles great as it gives off vibes of the aforementioned Thief and the series to which it belongs. If Assassin's Creed were more like this, I'd probably be a bigger fan. So far, so good. I shall continue to update.

Really fun abilities, and lots of replay value with all the different ways you can assassinate targets. |

Haven't made it that much further into the game, but even at this early stage, this is looking like it's going to earn a 4 from me. Unless something really major occurs story-wise or there's a series of stages that just blow my nuts off to get that glorious 5 that is. Games that earn a 5 from me are those that really stick in my brain and I can recall having a blast the entire way through from minute one. This is coming close, I'll be honest.

4. Great game, but a bit too flawed to receive a 5.
