Ruinn Vs Sinn (Good Match)

These guys don't have a ring yet so they aren't wrestling to there's full capacity but they still put on a really good match so enjoy it right now.

When I first saw the title I thought I had to go toe to toe with Sixx.

Nice turn-out and production values.

* Ruin/n is a good promo. When his in-ring career is finished, I'd like to see him give managing or commentating a try.

* Speaking of commentating, the ring announcer/commentator for the match was hilarious. I would like to see him do a take-off of the Howard Finkel Hair Club For Men spot.

* Sinn had good babyface charisma. I could tell he was trying really hard to work chickenshit heel, but I think he is a natural babyface. I hope a double-turn is coming.

* I thought Ruin/n was supposed to be a heel at first, but then I realized Sinn was the heel, but then Ruin/n told that fan to "shut up." I like the shades of grey, but newer fans to professional wrestling might get confused as to who they are supposed to cheer. Just two bad-asses going at it though, which is nice.

* Sinn's in-ring, well, on-mats, is really crisp. And when Ruin/n's boot came off, he improvised on the spot really well. You can tell this isn't his first rodeo.

* Crowd was really starting to get into this match.

* I love that these two guys tried to tell an actual story in this match. Old lion vs. young lion. This also explains why Sinn was acting like a heel -- he's old and cagey. Ruin/n is cocky and impudent. Great attention to the gimmicks there.

* I like the way that the shoe coming off was a precursor to the Hammerlock DDT spot. I really bought it as a false finish, and I can tell that moves like the Hammerlock DDT and the Ruin/ner usually beat their opponents, which is more than you can say for modern WWE a lot of the time.

* Great body slam spot. A lot of people in modern wrestling make it look too fluid; this is supposed to be a struggle. That Ruin/n had a tough time getting Sinn up made the fight feel more authentic.

* The second Ruin/ner ending the match was a great touch, because the move had already been established as devastating. I feel like I can anticipate it coming in future matches now.

* I get that Ruin/n was supposed to be heel, but you could tell he was genuinely stoked when he won that match. You can see him whisper "Thank you" to Sinn after the veteran did the honors, and he was genuinely emotional as he walked to the back. Moments like that, every now and then, are touching.

I don't want to give you guys big heads, but one of my favorite things about Bret Hart was how he told a story. If he was tossed across the ring by his hair, during his comeback, he would do that to the heel in order to get his back. He layered these personal elements into his matches, and I could see that happening here. I'm not saying you guys are as good as Bret Hart -- maybe in time, but not now -- but the layers to the finishers, and the call-back to the shoe -- it was all designed to tell a story.

If I can offer some constructive criticism: I would have liked it if you were wearing different attire. Wrestling is very much visual and symbolism a lot of the time. In the sense that Sinn felt like he could have been Ruin/n 10 years earlier, I get the choice to put them both in all black, but I think they could have used something a bit different. I think you could have shown the progression of Sinn from being a cocky youngster to being the effective veteran in a different way -- some sort of hype video/audio-visual package, perhaps? Maybe a different colored shirt? These are just ideas.
