Would you bet upset if Charlotte ends the streak at WM?
It feels like that could be what WWE is setting up for. I will say that I don't anticipate Nakamura to win against AJ. With that in mind I don't think they will have both first time Asian Rumble winners go down at WM. If not Charlotte, who? Ronda? It's unlikely Ronda stays with WWE for years and years, so would you use her to put over your first WWE Womens Revolution Era legend? And is that Charlotte or Auska? I think they are going to chose Flair in that comparison.

Nah. I like Asuka but the streak feels like something that should end at a Mania and I'm not too keen on seeing her now run through another year undefeated on SmackDown.

Alternatively I'd have Asuka win a grueling match but then have Carmella cash in successfully. It'd get enormous heat to end the streak in such a fashion but it still protects Asuka and it could set up her first "proper" loss for down the line.

No and I think it's the only way to go. Asuka staying undefeated does nothing for the women's roster. I was wanting Alexa to end it but Charlotte will do.

I'd like to see whoever the internet considers the worst woman on the roster do it.

Not at all. Charlotte is legit so it's a good way to put her on the way to becoming the undisputed star of the women's division if they want to go that route.

I do think Asuka should win, but won't be upset if Charlotte wins. Either way I think Asuka is going to lose to Charlotte pretty quick here. Could see them even doing the hotshotting of the belt between the two like they did with Charlotte and Sasha.

I totally don't get Asuka. Really don't see what makes her any more special than all the other women. Just another flavour of the month that'll soon be another face in the crowd. Especially when the whole women's revolution thing dies down.

Totally with you on this. She is not some technical star, not some impressive powerhouse. I guess in a way she is kind of like Bret Hart in that she makes her opponent look good in a losing effort, but yeah....I dunno, not sure what her gimmick is supposed to be other than not having speaking skills.

I know how to put this debate to rest for for good. Turn Asuka heel. Everybody knows win streaks on Faces should be ended at the earliest possible opportunity, but if it's a Heel they need to go on for years on end. Asuka turns sarcastic smarkfriendly heel, she totes needs to retire in 7-8 years undefeated.

Not really. Probably would feel like with Taker's streak in the shock being that it actually happened.
Mania and Charlotte are the ideal combo to do it but with Asuka just arriving on Smackdown and her being the 1st Women's Rumble winner, wouldn't pull the trigger on breaking the streak at this Mania. Either SummerSlam or next year's Mania would be better options especially if the speculated streak vs streak match happens between Ronda and Asuka at Mania 35. |

Charlotte ending it would be fine as long as she doesn't follow it up by losing a non-title match on the Smackdown after WrestleMania against Carmella or someone and ultimately make herself and Asuka part of the parity. Since that's probably what would happen, no. I don't think Charlotte should end the streak. |

Asuka is not going to lose to Charlotte though, at least not clean. WWE still holds up RAW as the A-show; they aren't going to have Asuka, who has beaten pretty much everyone on the A-show, go and lose her first match on the B-show. Not going to happen. The only outcomes I see are Carmella faking a cash-in and getting Asuka or Charlotte DQ'd, or Carmella actually cashing in and pinning Charlotte. My money is on the latter.
Bold prediction, Droford style: Carmella cashes in at Mania and pins Charlotte for the title. Carmella beats Charlotte at the next PPV by DQ to retain. The following PPV Asuka beats Carmella for the title. Asuka and Charlotte have a feud in which Asuka goes over earlier and Charlotte finally breaks the streak at SummerSlam. |

I can definitely see Carmella pulling a Rollins.

Seems like she's had the case forever. I forget she even exists until someone mentions her here. Feel like I haven't even heard about her being in a match or anything since Ellsworth got released.

I think WWE is going to build to Ronda/Charlotte possibly for WM 35's main event. I say Charlotte because she is a brilliant worker and a very strong promo and actor. Auska is amazing but she can't promo her way to a WM main event.
I say Charlotte beats Auska at WM. |

It was already happening late into their pairing but she got pushed to the side for the Survivor Series build and then when it looked like they might resume building her, she got pushed to the side again for the Women's Rumble build. Then they wasted several more weeks when they couldn't decide what to do with Asuka based on the the rumors of her Mania plans. |

Nah. It's hard to really "care" about the women's division in that sense, since it doesn't really have the pro-wrestling booking style of NXT. Being undefeated for Asuka is just a "thing." If they take that away, they will give her another "thing." Even with traditional booking, you could have Asuka lose and bounce her back by turning her vicious and breaking Becky's arm or something and continue to build the feud.
I don't mean this in an overly cynical way (really), but it doesn't matter who wins. Both women are still going to be in a very similar position afterwards. One will just have the belt and the other won't. It will be fine and I am sure they will work their asses off at Mania. |
