Chris Jericho GOAT.
The only thing Funk is better at than Jericho is coming out of retirement. |

Someone want to point out a sweet Funk match to watch so I can see why "he's so great"? All I know of him is the guy who looks 125 and can barely walk to the ring for his Exploding Ring Death Match with some random Japanese guy.
I know he really was great but I've never seen any of him in his younger days. |

How many times has Jericho retired? Not nearly as many times as Funk. That makes Funk better.

Wrestling is entertainment, and no wrestler has entertained me over the years more than Chris Jericho. He's my favorite wrestler ever for a reason. It's tough for me to ever vote against him - think I've only voted against him once in these things, like when he was against Angle or somebody.
Funk ruled though. |

I only really remember Funk from his last WCW run so I am going with Y2J.

Jericho really is one of the best of all time, great on the ring, great on the mic and this fantastic ability to tweak his character to not get stale. Also has had fantastic runs as both heel and face. Has put a lot of people over and even when he comes back for a short term run still works house shows.

Jericho is going to put Terry Funk on the list.
Had to go with Y2J. Not just because he is the GOAT not named Kevin Nash, but because the only thing I can even think of that Funk was better at is the hardcore shenanigans. Y2J is better on the stick and in the ring and he just doesn't get stale. Everyone seems to have trouble not getting stale except for Y2J. |

Terry Funk is a legend of the business for good reason. Fantastic promo and great personality. For me, he is better than Jericho at everything that wrestling involves.
It was strange that he went over Andre, because of the vast difference in their star quality, but I at least understood that Jericho was better in the ring and a better talker than Andre. Funk is better in every way though as a performer, as well as being more of a legend and a star in the history of the business. |

Non-Joke Response:
I usually don't vote in rounds where people are all "This dude is a legend, you just haven't seen his stuff. You are so dumb." But this is Chris Jericho, so I am voting in this round. I admit that I haven't seen all of Terry Funk's work, more specifically his younger work which I guess was when he was good. Saw him a bit in WCW and WWF, and wasn't too entertained by him. At least not to the mass levels of consistant entertainment that Chris Jericho has provided for me over the years. I don't care if he wasn't a "draw", he is one of the best of all time, and there aren't many I'd vote over him. |

I vote Funk. Not for rep. Not for argument. Not because I don't want to be contrarian. Hell, my vote has very little to do with the wrestling business.
Nah, I vote for Terry because I'm pretty sure in any cinematic appearance, he did all his own goddamn stunts, and since he was always someone's lackey (Roadhouse, for example), he is always on the losing end of an action sequence... and now I'm imagining him "singing" the theme to The Fall Guy, which only solidifies my vote. |

Love Jericho, but Funk means so much to wrestling, and might just be one of the best all-round workers of all-time. He was fantastic and drew money as a babyface and a heel. He wasn't just about being hardcore. For all that people say Jericho has reinvented himself, he really never did as many times as Terry Funk. Especially if we are talking in-ring.
This is actually a really fun match-up, but for me it's fairly clear that Funk was just slightly better at everything. My test is always who would you rather have in your promotion. Who is going to get people in the seats and get a stir about your fed. If I can only have one of these guys, then it'd just have to be Funk, because the guy wasn't just "very good," he was a maestro. |
