I'm not too surprised at #1. A 40+ man battle royal is a very rare spectacle.

If I'm not wrong, there are very few clips available on YouTube, so this does the actually mean that much.
The majority of big matches/moments are not on there. |

WWE has loads of videos, thousands actually. These are from WWE's page. They add like 10 videos a day to their YouTube page. People had to actually search out these random-ass matches (India is probably to blame for Khali).

I guess India explains Khali! That and the fact that people just love giants in general lol. Can still remember as a kid being stunned at Giant Gonzalez, looking back now, I cringe! |

If the Evolution Titantron video is eligible, I am responsible for at least 4,000 views of that alone. PUT IT ON THE LIST

When you take off "wrestling fan goggles" and give everybody the same blank slate, yeah, he kind of does. He's eloquent on the mic, but he's this tiny dude without much of a physique. I'm not even sure if being eloquent on the mic is something a potential fan would be looking for. It's debatable Punk had anything for mainstream audiences.
In some ways, he reminds me of a less-crisp X-Pac. There's a Better Wrestler for you. |

Khali being a spectacle would also have something to do with it. I'm not sure how he would do as a compelling draw in 2017, but when you see this giant dude in Get Smart and find out he's a wrestler, your interest has to be piqued.

Which matters WAY less to a potential fan than mic work.

Hmm, I dunno. Bryan had an energy that made his shit look *real*. Punk never had that. He pretended it was real, but it didn't come off as crisp. Bryan had a bit more credibility. His mic skills also weren't shocking. He developed a reputability and sincerity on the mic. I think people would rather hear a ranting Ultimate Warrior promo than a twenty-minute Triple H monologue. When you say "mic skills," it's quite a broad spectrum. People want charisma and credibility on the mic, I'll agree -- but I don't necessarily think they enjoy guys who enunciate clearly just for that very reason.
That being said, I do think Punk was a charismatic speaker. Ultimately Bryan was just better though. |

A list like this is meaningless really since a single person could (in theory) account for all the views. If this were 55mil unique views that would be something. For all we know some twat rubs one out to these every night before bed.

Bryan was never anywhere near as natural on the mic as Punk. At his peak he was still pretty awkward. Also, a potential fan knows it's not real. They want an entertainer. They don't care who "makes it look real" more. Punk was not that far behind Bryan in making his wrestling look real. He was MILES ahead of Bryan as an entertainer though.
Bottom line: If you think one of them "sucks", it's tough to make the argument that the other one sucks much less. Personally, I liked both. But realistically, neither should have been more than a supporting act to the legit stars. |

Hopefully that cajoles the members of the WWEWAA into giving him their vote. It'd be a shame for him to be ineligible.
