Bye Bye Shield
Confirmed that Dean Ambrose suffered a legit tricep tear and will require surgery.
Say goodbye to the shield for quite a while. Generally a tricep tear requires 4-6 months of active healing before you again gain full motion of the arm and tricep area. Total recovery time with healing, rehab, and arm restoring to full strength and mobility, likely 12-15 months. Probably won't be seeing Dean again until end of 2018 or early 2019. Sucks to hear about it and wish him well and a speedy recovery. |

Even before Ambrose's unfortunate injury, WWE was already doing a soft split considering they stopped showing up as much as a group on tv. Even dropped the Shield theme for Ambrose and Rollins for their matches.

I never bought into the notion that Roman was going to carry the IC Title into Mania to do a Double Title match against Brock. That would be ridiculous. It already feels obvious enough that Roman would go over, adding the IC Title would make it even more obvious because they aren't putting the IC Title on Brock goddamn Lesnar.
So maybe Roman loses it in a wonky fashion and Rollins then goes after that belt at Mania. I'm sure they'll figure something out, I can't imagine Seth Rollins being relegated to Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal duty. |

Now with Ambrose out, can legit see them keep the IC belt on Reigns till Mania. Gets rid of any need for Reigns to win the Rumble to face Lesnar and avoid any cheap/bad losses deflating his momentum going into Mania. Reigns can drop the IC belt after Mania without taking any real hit to his now coronated mega stardom.
Has Ambrose not been hurt, the other rumor was for him to turn heel on the Shield and take the IC belt from Reigns. Would not be a cheap/bad loss for Reigns and repeat the first breakup but now with Rollins defending the Shield's honor. Also frees up Reigns to go off on his own way for the Lesnar feud. |

They should go full blown heel with Roman and Seth. Roman wins the Rumble (which sucks but is most likely going to happen regardless) setting up title vs title with Lesnar at Mania. In the interim, Seth and Roman fake some issues that split them apart, leading to them having an IC title match before WM. Then Rollins beats Roman with the finger poke of doom. They get up, laugh, hug it out and explain Lesnar doesn't deserve a shot at the title Roman made prestigious and that it won't matter when Roman takes the Universal title anyways.

Should be Lesnar vs Reigns in the Mania main event
Rollins should win the MitB and cash it in. Totally original. |

Sucks for Dean. I actually wasn't looking forward to the split though. What's the endgame there? Ambrose is a great performer as a heel, but it's not like it's going to go anywhere. They're all better off being aligned. I was hoping they would team at WrestleMania and then go to SmackDown and run the show over there, and still be "friends," but friends that they don't mind fighting each other.
I can see Seth Rollins facing Bray Wyatt or Samoa Joe, for whatever reason. I doubt he'll have a big match, because Triple H needs to have a bigger match even though he "put Seth over" this year. Actually, I can see Seth in an IC Title Ladder Match or something. Seth, Jason Jordan, Sheamus, Cesaro, The Miz, Bray Wyatt, Matt Hardy and Finn Balor -- eight guys just beating the piss out of each other in the opener, like they were sort of doing before the wanted to put The Hardys in a Ladder Match this year. |
