Roman Reigns vs Kenny Omega
I bet Roman would win if they wrestled in the WWE!

Maybe they'd have the match on PPV.
Of course by the time the PPV arrives, nobody would care as it would be after both men (and really everyone else on the roster) bust their ass in random 20 minute singles matches on Raw every week despite the fact that those matches won't be remembered and mean little in the overall context of the story. |

I wonder if Kenny is strong enough to body-slam Roman Reigns

Roman.
Omega is from Japan pretty sure he's not nearly as good as made out to be. |

I heard Omega's finishing hold is a hip-toss! Can you believe that, a hip-toss as a finisher in 2017!!!

I've been watching WWE all year and all the Japanese wrestler suck. None of them could beat Roman.

I want Omega vs. Orton and Orton to beat that flippy guy and send him back to Honshu on a bullet train. Shiagari, bitch.

Yeah Roman is definitely the BIG DOG in professional wrestling. Kenny is more like the The SIEGFRIED AND ROY of professional wrestling, brother.

LOL at the bumped thread. But the difference now is even more apparent than it was 4 years ago.
4 years ago, Reigns was in front of everyone trying to figure out who he was. Omega had the luxury of having Good matches with Okada and a promoter who told him no. Today, Reigns knows exactly who he is and carries himself like the biggest star in the business, because he is. Omega has regressed without people telling him no and Okada to make him look good. |

In fairness, Omega had really good matches with everyone, not just Okada. He's been just another guy since AEW started though. Even as champion he's no where near the level he was.
I lost a lot of respect for omega when he left njpw. I get that his reign wasn't booked great to that point, but if he stayed he would have beaten Tanahashi, Okada, and probably kept it until dropping it to ibushi. Instead he left the company that helped make him a star in a shitty situation so he could go play with his pals. Omega going to AEW wouldn't even mean anything if not for New Japan. Meanwhile all the bad booking in njpw and loss of prestige of the iwgp title can be Traced back to Kenny leaving. |

I think NJPW did a reasonably good job in the immediate aftermath of Omega leaving. White getting the title felt a bit rushed and Tana only having a one month reign didn't feel right. If it were up to me I'd have just done Tana vs. Okada which always is a classic at MSG. That said it's clear they felt they needed a gaijin headlining MSG and Whie/Okada did deliver.
But I liked Okada with the belt through 2019 and Naito finally getting his moment in 2020. The booking has been bananas since the pandemic though, EVIL getting a needless reign seemingly just to give him an accolade when long form NJPW style main events weren't his strength. |

White winning the belt was way too soon. And a gaijin champ was unnecessary for the MSG show. Everyone interested in that show either watched njpw, or at least knew of their wrestlers.

Yep. That they then went and did Okada/Tana in Dallas for the G1 just made it a little more annoying that they could’ve just done it at MSG.
White ended up getting really good and his first reign would’ve been more impactful later on. |

Yeah, I'd have no problem with Jay winning it now. I'd certainly take him over EVIL.
God damn, it irks me to no end the EVIL has a heavyweight title reign, and Goto doesnt't. |

On paper, the idea of EVIL turning his back on LIJ and becoming Double Champ had some really nice potential but Gedo completely bungled the execution of his heel run and title reign.
Something about Gedo's booking mentality after NJPW came back from the coronavirus pandemic break went down the gutter hard. Mostly the double whammy of NJPW rushing key stuff more frequently now and leaning more heavy towards WWE style booking that a lot of people hate to see in the company. |
