I can think of stellar matches from both guys. Bubba was in the some of the best tags the century and 1-2-3 kid had some memorable matches.

X Pac was one of the four original "indie darlings". X Pac Heat nonsense has overshadowed one of the great workers of the early to mid 90's. His 1999 work was fantastic and probably the best of his career. X Pac gets my vote .

I firmly believe that Waltman will go into the HOF someday, and not just as a member of DX. And when it happens the internet's reaction will be fascinating.

Time has been kind to Waltmans work. He has also implied he was sandbagged towards the end of his tenure when x pac heat peaked. I think some of it was his fault. Too hard on the drugs and didnt freshen his character. In saying that, Gert is right about XPac in 99. Loved him and Kane.

Shisen will love this: the 4 who were considered the "Original Indie Darlings" were X Pac, Sabu, Cactus Jack and....Chris Chavis a.k.a Tatanka

The only thing against him is the Chyna porn tape. Insane that he was in both DX and nWo when both were red-hot. |

This one was as easy as 1-2-3. Bubba Ray flipped me off after a Smackdown show back in 2001. How rude!

Tatanka had the highest workrate out of all of them. I got out the old Workrate-ometer, remember that? And Tatanka had one of the highest scores ever 157.48

Heres my hang up: both are hof bound, though bubba is more likely and waltman will only go in after death. Butnwhen i compare legacy i think the dudleys will be trested better by history.
Also the dudleys act did sell tickets and im not sure waltman ever did. Can anyone car to refute? Sell me! |

Dudleys sold tickets. But this is just Bubba. Same thing as saying DX sold tickets (more too) in favor of X Pac.

DX with just HHH and the Outlaws would not have been the same. X-Pac was VERY over even after DX split when he was teaming with Kane.

It was a totally different incarnation before him. After Shawn left, it had every reason to end up just being a failed attempt to keep the "DX brand" going. Instead, they took it to another level.

And I feel like X Pac was more over than HHH was in DX.
Don't know if the Dudley's sold tickets in the WWE. |

X-Pac was def over back in the day. Had a few friends who considered him a favourite. I really enjoyed quite a few of his Kid matches and his early X-Pac stuff particularly.
I think his peers had a lot of respect for him as a top in ring guy. I remember Jericho saying that they put him in the ring with Waltman in his initial crisis period, because if he couldn't get a good match out of him, noone could. Basically, X-Pac is several levels above Bubba from an in ring perspective, was extremely over in his time and had successful single and tag runs. He was a personality and very charismatic in his day. Bubba's better mic skills don't make up the difference |

X Pac had more big league success as a singles though. His run as the 123 kid provided some memorable moments (though he never quite got the break he deserved) and XPAC from 1998 until the beginning of 2000 had him as a pretty damned integral part of the show.
Tag work with Kane was also fantastic. Bubba's limited singles success means nothing to me. Never watched any Bully Ray and the very little I saw didn't resonate with me. |

also love that Tatanka was an indy darling. That's more laughable than Bryan Christopher being the next Shawn Michaels (though in 93 Shawn wasn't quite Shawn yet).

Waltman. He was well above average in every aspect in his career, and if "given the ball" I have no doubt he would have been a success as a top guy.
Nothing against Bubba, but Waltman gets my vote. |

X-Pac easily.
The best in-ring performer in the WWF next to Austin for a long time during the Attitude era. His early WWF stuff was pretty groundbreaking, and he contributed to both shows as a supporting act in pretty historically significant ways. The Dudley Boyz were a hot tag team for a while there, but where they really "selling tickets?" The Hardy Boyz always felt like they were that tiny little bit more over, and the product was white-hot anyway. You could just as easily put "Dudley Boyz" and "X-Pac" on a program and people would have gone "Whoa! Cool!" back then and bought a ticket. As a singles guy, Bubba sucked. I think he's an overrated promo. He's a confident talker, but I can't remember much of any of them. That promo X-Pac did when he debuted with the WWF is infinitely more memorable than any Bully Ray thing. Pac was valuable during a period of time where the competition was at its best. Bubba Dudley lives in the creases of history books written after the war has been fought. Fuck Bubba Dudley. |
