I mean he can still "go". Just not at the same level we've been spoiled with.

Voted Andre. His impact was bigger, his draw bigger. Cena, despite his success, cant touch those two factors and theyre are arguably the most important.

It's not like Andre was a lump either. A good worker, not even "for what what he was." Dude knew how to do what he needed to do.

It's not like he sucks or anything, but it's always going to leave a dampness over a match when people are conditioned to expect ***1/2 or **** performances every match he has. The pay-off to the angle is going to be that match, and if that match disappoints, he's not going to have the effect intended. |

Cena although for similar reasons to a couple other matchups of this type in the past. Just seen a ton more of his stuff and when it occurred for a personal connection (good and bad) while almost all of Andre's career and best stuff was before my time watching wrestling.
Andre is a very deserving legend in the WWE and in wrestling but just don't have a real strong personal connection/feeling to his work overall to vote for him. |

Perhaps the biggest draw in the history of the business. Andre.

John Cena.
Andre was the way before my time (started watching in 1992 at the age of five), and what I've seen of Andre hasn't really entertained me. |

Lex luger is behind the death of Andre im sure of it. Andre the Giant should beat everyone in the better rassler contest except Hogan bc he slammed him at Rasslemania 3.

Not much of a doubt in my mind....Andre. One of the greatest ever, and the best big man. He could draw, work and had a great presence.

I'm curious to hear that debate. Just how recognizable was Flair? I personally wonder how far it got, because when people talk about him, they still spell his name as "Rick." He seems more "obscure" a reference.

Most people here ever heard of Hogan, but I know a few people that heard of Flair even if they haven't seen wrestling at all. |

Interesting. The wrestlers I had heard of pre-fandom were Hogan, Andre, Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Rikishi, Kane, Mankind, Kevin Nash, Kane, Mr. Ass and Goldberg.

I legitimately wish I had more to contribute on the subject, but I've never really appreciated the impact of the NWA/WCW historically until recently, due to the smearing of Vince McMahon's narrative over everything.

Vince also learned this the hard way when he caused the "Black Saturday" incident to occur which generated massive backlash from wrestling fans in the South who didn't like WWF style wrestling. Probably the first time Vince realized his growing wrestling empire wasn't as dominating as he thought at the time.

It would make sense that this would change with Austin, as his roughneck style would go over well in the South.
