Apparently Madusa/Alundra is not a fan of the current Divas Revolution angle. The rant came from a recent post on her Instagram account and went off on a few people involved in the storyline.

As noted, Vince McMahon has not been happy with the recently low Raw ratings trend, and according to The Wrestling Observer, after the low rating came in for the 9/21 edition of Raw, Vince put enormous pressure on the creative team, even more pressure than the previous two weeks.

This week’s Raw rating came in at a record low, so you can imagine how upset Vince was when he was made aware of the number. Vince has been known to make major changes to the WWE product when he begins panicking about the ratings, and one move he’s made for next week is to bring Brock Lesnar in for the show.

This e-mail incident really did happen, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It turns out Dixie sent an e-mail to several unintended recipients. Whoever she was sending it to, the e-mail was mostly Dixie complaining about how Discovery doesn't send out information on the +3 ratings, since Impact Wrestling usually does 15% to 20% more viewers when DVR viewership over the following 3 days after it airs is factored in.

Dixie reportedly called Graboff some negative names in the e-mail and took a shot at his intelligence in some way. Besides the intended recipients, Dixie also sent the e-mail to Destination America Group President Harvey Schlieff and several other Discovery executives. Schlieff responded to Dixie and said he was sorry she felt that way about Graboff. Graboff was also copied on the e-mails, apparently by Schlieff so he could see what was happening. Obviously this did not go over well with the network and likely added to the problems that the ratings had brought on.
Update to the TNA email incident that likely played a big role in getting them kicked off of Destination America.

MLW Radio revealed on Twitter that a major cable network is currently working on an exposé piece on WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka. As noted, Snuka was arrested on September 1st for the 1983 death of then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino. He is currently facing third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges. MLW tweeted:

We can confirm a Jimmy Snuka expose is in the works for a major cable network. No information on who is being interviewed or when it airs.

On when he found out Seth Rollins would be turning against The Shield:
"Day of."

On a possible Shield Reunion:
"It's tough because I enjoy what I'm doing now. I enjoy being a singles guy. I enjoy commanding the stage with myself and an opponent. It's a different process when you're teammates. Especially with the way we work. We're very unselfish with how we work together in so many different regards. Not just what you see as the final product of the match. Just strategizing, psychology, teamwork. What made us so empowering is that we helped each other and we always looked out for each other and you didn't see that in wrestling too often. Even in factions, it's a very individual game, but The Shield, we were just iron-clad brothers in black. We made it more about the group than anything. I miss that. I miss that camaraderie."

On winning back the fans who turned against him at the beginning of the year:
"It's been a work in progress. The crowd is the crowd. You're gonna take them as an individual performer how you take them. The key is how do you learn from them. How do you use whatever is happening reaction-wise to get better."

I was just thinking the other day about how NWA needs to try to get some national attention again. Use that rich history that companies like TNA, ROH and GFW don't have the benefit of. They need to start slow though. None of this trying to go prime time on Spike right off the bat and ending up putting themselves in financial peril. Get a nice late night/afternoon slot somewhere where you can go kinda low budget and not have to worry about ratings right off the bat and carefully build it back up for a bit.

The NWA would really benefit from something like the WWE network. They could air all their promotions on it. With all their promotions they could have a pretty good weekly wrestling schedule and wouldn't need to do all the extra shows like the WWE network does.

The territory system could be used like a brand split. All those guys in the company being showcased weekly but never coming in contact with each other thus bulding up small scale "dream matches". Could get over like ghostbusters or however that phrase goes.

TNA teasing a huge announcement for next week. Could be the rumored big tour that is supposed to happen soon, something else that could be good for TNA, or just a big disappointment like most big teases they hype up.

They've sold the company and the video rights to WWE.

The cost? $2 Million.

As in: Panda Energy paid WWE $2 Million to get the dumpster fire that is TNA off their books.

Dirtsheets sponsored by Steve Blackman's quest to rid the world of cheese:

Quote:
As noted, WWE United States Champion John Cena has been removed from several WWE live events and RAW tapings after WWE Hell In A Cell later this month. However, as of this morning, Cena still remained advertised for the WWE European tour. Since that report, WWE has removed Cena from the European tour. Cena has actually been removed from all WWE televised and live events until the December 30th WWE live event in Toronto. It should be noted that WWE only has a handful of events listed for December, so there is a chance that Cena might be added to more events that month. However, WWE has their full schedule for November and Cena is not advertised for any shows that month
Either he's dropping the belt very soon or the WWE didn't plan for the second Open Challenge series to be a weekly thing like the original.

The new record low they heading toward, which would be the lowest including holidays, would be a 2.24 rating and 3.14 million viewers for a show that aired on Christmas Eve in 2012. The last time Raw did a 2.3 rating non-holiday was October 27, 1997, a night they went not only against the NFL, but also against a Nitro show that did a 4.6 rating. If you want to think of it in another way, Nitro, as horrible as it was in 1999, never came close to a 2.3 until the summer of 2000, and that was against a Raw show that did a 5.3 rating.

So, if all things are equal (and they’re not, because viewership of TV is up since 8/31, so the affect of football is slightly greater than the stats comparing dates will bear out), we’ve had a 15.0% drop in ratings over the four weeks and a 14.7% drop in total audience. Usually football will cause about a 9-10% drop in ratings and audience so it is hurting Raw more this year than any year I can recall.

Scott Fishman of Channel Guide Mag spoke with Paul Heyman, who was discussing Lesnar's WWE appearances this month. During the interview, Fishman asked Heyman about WWE's declining ratings.

"I think if there is erosion in the ratings then we are in a cycle within the industry where fans are going and looking for or finding other interests," Heyman said.

"This is not dissimilar to any other forms of entertainment. The key has always been to replace those who leave, to bring in more fans at any time you are losing fans. At this particular point in time there is a search to find the new fan. I am not one who looks at the ratings every Tuesday and says, 'Well, we haven't replaced everybody that is left. The ratings didn't double.' I'm not expecting that type of increase tomorrow or the next week or the week after that.

"Any business with longevity, and this is the one company in the business that has survived, deals with this. They survive because when there was an erosion of the audience and they had to replenish the audience, there isn't a panic. Panic is never the answer. Panic never brings up the ratings. A long-term solution is with a number of brand new stars, all in compelling situations with riveting storylines and new matchups. That is what will bring an upswing to the ratings ever so slowly to where the average rating goes up a little bit each month. Then a couple of years from now the erosion have taken place of the people that have left being fans and a new generation or group or crop of fans has come in. It's natural evolution of any form of entertainment."

On the supposed Turner vs McMahon feud that the WWE likes to hype up a lot for the MNW/Attitude Era.

As of right now, Rock vs. HHH is still one of the projected main events, so that takes Rock out of any possibility of facing Lesnar, and takes Rollins out of any possibility of facing HHH. Those in WWE close to the situation knew nothing about an Austin vs. Lesnar match. Every indication from Austin has been that he’s not going to wrestle again, and a few months back, when he did that promo on Lesnar and then I was told point blank he wasn’t going to wrestle at Mania and Vince was upset about the promo, that to me seemed to close the book on it. If there was ever going to be a place and opponent this would be it, but there was a good reason he retired in 2003 and has resisted all attempts to wrestle again.

I would imagine TNA aired them at the same time on purpose, but that would require some kind of cunning business strategy.

those things never work. I mentioned this in another thread. Say someone in NXT, like that new dude - Creed or whatever - say he hits as the next Rocky. Do you just keep him isolated on one show? Do you tell USA Network "yeah we know you are paying us a ton of money for RAW, but we cant use him on RAW, because he's a Smackdown guy, and this will theoretically build to a bigger match one day on PPV".

The odd thing is people who have been following wrestling for so long generally ignore certain facts. For example, most of the biggest matches in history were done multiple times before the huge match (Hogan-Andre, Hogan-Savage, Austin-Rock, etc). Very few matches I can think of did massive business because they were held off. Maybe Rock-Cena is the best one, but even that is not quite the same. You look at a program like Hogan-Flair, which is what people want, and that bombed at house shows. Lesnar-Goldberg was a disaster (albeit there were circumstances that hurt that fight).

I just dont see the benefit of brand splits/extensions.
