Not really an Impact Pizza just two Wrestling themed pizzas that fans will vote for. 6 sided pizza was a lay up though and they missed it.

The Sriracha Scissor Kick (spicy jerk chicken, roasted corn, black beans, salsa fresca, red onions, jalapeños, sriracha drizzle)

The Pulled Pork Piledriver (smokey pulled pork, pickled onions, red chillies, jalapeńo peppers, smoke bacon, BBQ drizzle)

They also have a drink the Atomic Drop made up of gin, tequila, rum, blue curaçao, 7-Up, and a splash of lime and lemon. Pretty sure its just a promotional thing for Bound for Glory and Impact tapings that follow.

Raw finished third for the night on cable. The Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles game did 11.28 million viewers, and the other show that beat Raw was the SportsCenter episode after the game ...

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 3.33 million viewers
9 p.m. 2.97 million viewers
10 p.m. 2.56 million viewers
Turns out the drop was the largest since RAW went to 3 hours after some more data crunching by the Observer.

Meltzer noted that the WWE is planning on adding a special guest referee to the match, though the company hasn't yet settled on who that would be. John Cena's name was mentioned as a possibility, and Bryan Alvarez pointed out that it would make sense to insert Cena into the match in order to set up a storyline with Mahal for the future.

There are other names being floated around, so Cena is not a lock to referee the match. Without naming names, Meltzer said the other possible referees might not want to do the match, so Cena might end up getting the spot by default. The WWE's main goal in adding a special guest referee is to put someone in the ring who would be intriguing with Lesnar.

Alvarez raised the possibility of the referee being Goldberg or The Undertaker, considering they are two superstars who would definitely add some intrigue. Meltzer refuted that idea because both those rivalries have run their course and he doesn't see the WWE going back to them any time soon.

What happened was Jarrett was to work shows in Calgary and Edmonton this weekend for Real Canadian Wrestling (we had mistakenly called it River City Wrestling yesterday as our first report just came in as RCW). He showed up in Calgary, in no condition to perform although he did do a match and it was said to be similar to his performance at TripleMania. The promoter said he didn't know Jarrett was in such bad shape until the match started but others there said that couldn't be the case because it was clear backstage. He told the promotion that he was held at customs and was told he had to return the next morning and would have to miss Edmonton. The promotion later found out that Jarrett rebooked his flight from Sunday morning to Saturday morning and left before the Saturday night show in Edmonton. The promotion said that Jarrett boarded a plane and left the country on his own accord Sunday morning and later said Jarrett "chose to leave the country due to his own issues."

To me, it doesn't look good for Braun Strowman. They could do so much with him, but aren't. Now the latest with Kane returning to help him win the match with RR. Why would BS need help? It seems to take a lot of air out of the balloon, or am I just not getting it?

I like that you wrote BS for Braun because bringing Kane back felt like BS to me when it happened on Raw. I don’t get it either. It was totally unneeded to add him to the match. It actually made me care less, not more. The one good thing about Reigns getting sick was that at least they get another chance to do The Shield reunion. Hopefully they will do it the right way. They sure messed it up by making the TLC match a 5 on 3. As for Braun, I agree. Having him lose to one measly F5 in his match with Brock Lesnar was a huge mistake. WWE booking keeps making those. The fans want new, fresh talents to believe in and WWE just won’t give them to us ...

I saw the Impact One Night Only PPV pictures on the site. Was the crowd that bad for the entire show?

From what we were told, yes it was. We heard the number of fans for the show was 161. It says a lot about the drawing power of Impact, or lack thereof.

WrestleMania has once again ranked on Forbes' Fab 40. The Showcase of the Immortals, which just celebrated its 33rd edition this past April in Orlando, ranked at No. 6 on the magazine's long-running list of the world's most valuable sports brands, above institutions such as the UEFA Champions League and the Daytona 500.

This year's WrestleMania broke the Orlando Citrus Bowl's attendance record with 75,245 WWE Universe members from all 50 states and 62 different countries. The previous Orlando Citrus Bowl attendance record – 74,635 – had been set by WrestleMania XXIV in 2008.

However, the 1,507,000 subscribers for the Network, while up four percent from one year ago, was a decline from the last quarter. There were 392,000 new sign-ups and 453,000 cancellations during the quarter. During the third quarter last year, there were 388,000 new sign-ups and 455,000 cancellations, so the trend was very close to identical.

This shows that the strength of the pay-per-views, as the main events were stronger this year, only has a very minor effect on subscription numbers. The other take is that the Mae Young Classic, with all the hype, really meant nothing for subscriber numbers.

They also predicted another drop in Network subscriptions, as much as 50,000, in the fourth quarter.

WWE also increased profitability of house shows, although it was by running more total events as the average attendance dropped from 5,300 to 4,900 per show.

Licensing profits went from $4.6 million to $6.7 million due to an increase in mobile game sales.
The Network's numbers dropping instead of growing is not a good sign. Still stuck in the 1.4-1.5 million range when they were expecting the 2-3+ million by now for original plans. Also some of their money increases has catches to them which can become a big issue down the line.

The company pushed the new television negotiations. The deal with NBC Universal expires on September 30th, 2019, while deals in the United Kingdom and India, the other two largest revenue television deals, expire on December 31st, 2019.

They are targeting a new U.S. deal and announcement sometime between May and September of 2018.
Right now its probably a safe bet the next US contract won't be a major increase and could probably include the removal of the 3rd hour if WWE can find a way to recoup the $20-$40 million it brings in annually.

The match is now being planned for WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. One reason the match has been pushed back until then is because there's a RAW vs. SmackDown theme at Survivor Series, where the match was once rumored to take place. Another reason they're waiting until 2018 to do the match is the feeling that the extra time will help them get Rousey, Duke and Shafir ready for the ring.

Baszler continues to train at the WWE Performance Center under her WWE NXT deal and Rousey was at the Performance Center this past week. No word yet on the rumored Rousey vs. Flair singles match happening in the future but it was once rumored for WrestleMania.

No word yet on talks with Rock or Austin but the issue would be if they want to work the match, and with The Rock the main issue would be if his schedule would allow it, and how much WWE would have to pay him. It's unlikely that a Lesnar vs. Rock or Lesnar vs. Austin match would come out of the special referee gig at Survivor Series. The Observer notes that while Austin is done as a wrestler, there is still the intrigue of he and Lesnar being in the ring together.

The belief is that Bushiroad, the New Japan parent company, found out about his UFC marijuana test positives and in Japan, marijuana has more of a stigma than in most places, and the deal fell apart and there is no start date ... Riddle twice failed tests in UFC and had wins overturned due to positive marijuana tests. This is a key reason why WWE has held up on ever making him an offer. Some time back at a conference call I was talking with Paul Levesque on this subject and Levesque said that everyone deserves a second chance, although I don’t know they’ve made him an offer even though it was WWE who originally hooked him up with Evolve after he did so well in a tryout shortly after he started in wrestling, but they wanted to test how he’d do before offering him a deal ... Usage of marijuana is prevalent in pro wrestling which is why this seems so weird from a WWE standpoint, since WWE does fine people $2,500 a shot for marijuana, but doesn’t suspend them for it, and it’s viewed in WWE as the pot tax

That’s the company that was interested in Vince Russo for creative, but I don’t know that the deal with him is in place or not

The last episode of Lucha Underground season three aired on 10/18 and the final graphic said “To Be Continued.” People are hoping that meant something but there is still no deal made going forward.

Christopher DeJoseph was on The Midweek War show teased the idea of Prince Puma continuing as a character, saying he’s got more in mind for the character. Obviously, if the character continues it would be somebody else playing the role. When asked about the future of Sexy Star, he said that decision will be made by people pay grades above him but they try and resolve every story. He did bring up being high on Rey Escorpion and Averno

Chris Roach, one of the writers, was on The MMM show and talked about how the reason they put the title on Sexy Star was a way to build heat for Mundo to cheat to have to beat her. The feeling is that if Pentagon was the guy who Mundo beat that his losing without coming back strong for revenge would have hurt him, and the idea for the season was to put as much heat on Mundo.

PW Insider wrote a story regarding the proposed U.K. television show and the basic gist behind the delays is as we had noted, they are looking to get a paid deal on TV in the U.K. for the show rather than have it be a WWE Network exclusive. The costs of the pilot shows where they did the U.K. tournament were very high and that’s why, after announcing they would be starting a weekly series, nothing has happened. It is still in the planning stages but it takes time to make TV deals. The PW Insider story said the working title for the show would be WWE King of the Ring. They noted the show was being pitched to ITV, which is the same thing we’ve heard, basically it’s being pitched everywhere. ITV would be the killer deal because of the reach of the station and because ITV itself was planning on doing its own weekly Saturday afternoon wrestling show.

A key point is that ITV earlier in the year was looking at doing a ten week run and then evaluating it from there. That was one of the reasons the deal with Impact fell through, although there were others regarding who would pay what costs. ITV has not dropped the idea of the show and was still looking at trying out wrestling at some point in 2018, so on the surface, WWE producing such a series makes sense for both sides. ITV gets a solid promotion which has top guys under contract and if they are on ITV, pretty much would be able to sign any U.K. talent except the guys with the New Japan or ROH deals. But one would think WWE would want more than a ten-week commitment
Some details regarding WWE's UK show plans and ITV's own wrestling show plans.

Well, I don't even know if the gaga in the main event was a good thing. They generate this interest for something and then they cut it down. Finn Balor has, by all accounts, a tremendous showing, and then he gets squished by Kane in 2017. How does one invest time into this?

Below are highlights from the interview.

On Ric Flair’s Health

Flair: “Oh, he’s doing really well...

On Her Brother Reid’s Drug Overdose

Flair: “I got so frustrated towards the end. He was in Japan doing well before he passed. He asked me to promote something for him, and I didn’t want to because I was just angry at him for making mistakes, and I have a lot of guilt - if I had done things differently. But that’s my thing about the book. I was getting to write my letter to him, letting him know that what he wanted to do and become, I’m making sure happens. And I still haven’t really accepted that he’s gone…And I know it’s hard on my mom, for sure, hard on my mom that the only thing the world sees is her son dying of an overdose, instead of what a beautiful soul he was… So I think getting to write about him and what he meant to me in the book, meant a lot.”

On Getting Out of an Abusive Relationship

Flair: “At that time, we were young, and he had family issues as well, and I was constantly trying to make up for those - but when, in reality, we were both in unhealthy situations. And I kept thinking, 'Well maybe if I looked a certain way or acted a certain way, or if I did this better he wouldn’t do xyz.' But it really had nothing to do with me, so I was continuing to make excuses. And when you’re in a codependent relationship like that, you’re listening to what the person says, but even though they do something else and say, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. It will never happen again,’ but that’s not really how it is if the behavior never changes.”

Along with Darren Young and Summer Rae, Emma was part of a round of WWE roster cuts that were announced on Sunday morning. Rush first referenced Emma losing to Asuka in Asuka's first two main roster matches at TLC and Raw last week. In a tweet that has since been deleted, he wrote: "I guess these are the things that happen when you're not TRULY ready for @WWEAsuka."

The joke received criticism pretty quickly, including Peyton Royce pointing out that Rush just got to NXT and telling him that professionalism goes a long way. Bray Wyatt was one of the wrestlers from the main roster to respond, saying that Rush "ain't gonna make it here with the wolves."

In response to the blowback, Rush issued a statement on Twitter (with paragraph breaks added by us) just a few hours after the original post:

"At the end of the day, there's a certain level of respect within professional wrestlers in the sports & ENTERTAINMENT industry that is noted within peers. With that being said, Emma I respect you and everything you've done for our business. It saddens me that the 'controversial tweet' got completely blown out of proportion and looked at in a very insensitive way.

As a family man with a 4 year [old] son and expecting another, I would never laugh or mock the fact of someone loosing there job because of how it can affect self person and there families. Whatever the situation may be regarding the release, You're an amazing performer and respected athlete by yours truly and I'm sure you will excel beyond [expectations].

To my fans who may have seen this as inappropriate as well as Emma's fans, I apologize and I love you ALL regardless of the responses. On Behalf of myself and the WWE Goodluck!"

While Jack Gallagher, Dash Wilder, and others weren't as accepting of Rush's apology, Scott Armstrong (who works as a producer for WWE) called Rush a class act and wrote that rookie mistakes are made to be learned from.

In addition, since the tour was built around The Shield reunion in matches with The Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro, and that Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose were instead announced as being switched to tag team title matches against Sheamus & Cesaro also seemed to confirm Reigns' absence.

The current projection is for Reigns to return on the November 13th Raw show in Atlanta.

Matches from both venues will air on the broadcast and will feature wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown, along with legends making "special appearances" at the Manhattan Center.

The Undertaker (who hasn't been on WWE television since losing to Roman Reigns and indicating that he's retiring at WrestleMania), Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash were the first three legends announced as being on the show. WWE has yet to reveal any other details about their scheduled appearances.

A one-night return to the Manhattan Center is WWE bringing Raw back to where the first episode of the show took place. The venue was home to Raw in the early parts of its run.

The episode will also be the go-home show for the 2018 Royal Rumble, with that pay-per-view set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28th.

Tickets for the 25th anniversary episode of Raw will go on sale this Friday via Ticketmaster.

But that's what I mean. Hunico has had the gimmick since 2013 now and they've done nothing with it. Four years and however many backstage fights later they decide they finally want to do something with it.

That's the type of person you want on your roster. Hopefully she can continue to grow as a talent and rebound.

Although the talk when this round of tapings was moved to Ottawa is that the company was pretty much done with taping at Universal Studios Orlando for awhile, all indications internally are that the January TV tapings will indeed be back in Orlando, Florida.

Talks of tapings in Chicago, by the way, have greatly lessened.

"I’m not really sure. I would expect to be. How could they talk about 25 years of Raw without including me in some sort of way?

I know I’m going to be a part of the Royal Rumble [show]. I don’t know about calling the match [like last year], but probably the kick-off show and all that sort of stuff. “

On early Raw shows at Manhattan Center:

"One of the things about was amazing about it, was the Manhattan Center wasn’t a very big venue. At the time, they didn’t know how successful this thing was going to become. It was in the very early stages. Just an infant being born at the Manhattan Center. And this place was small compared to the Barclays Center. It was a very small venue.

The main thing I remember is having to dress, get ready for the matches, and get ready for the show in the stairwells. There was just not enough dressing rooms. And guys were dressing every little nook and cranny and broom closets to get ready for the show.”

Being in the new WWE mobile game:

"Did a two-hour voiceover. It’s a mobile game. It is awesome. I had a chance to look at the graphics. And it is really good.

I’m on the commentary for this game. They wanted it to sound like the Attitude Era. I don’t know if they are going to use J.R. or who-else they are going to use. I just know I did a two-hour session and did almost 300 lines for it the other day. They are going to have me back to do some more.”

The match was to have Team Captain Enzo, Noam Dar, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari taking on Team Captain Kalisto, Sin Cara, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali and Rich Swann.

Emma reportedly created enemies on the WWE writing staff and made those issues worse with the way she spoke out on Twitter. Emma did have as much respect as an in-ring performer as any other female Superstars in the locker room but her release sent a message to the locker room.

The decision to release Emma, Young and Summer reportedly came on Friday during Vince McMahon's routine budget meeting. The Superstars were told on Sunday before they would have needed to fly out for work on Monday. WWE then made the announcements on their website and social media accounts.

Rush received strong tweets from Bray Wyatt, Jack Gallagher, Peyton Royce, Dash Wilder and others in response. NXT General Manager William Regal wrote a tweet somewhat defending Rush. Dash deleted his tweet but he wrote, "So busy trying to be a comedian, you forget you're a dumbass." Rush later posted an apology to Twitter but the damage had been done. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the heat on Rush was so bad that there was almost immediate talk of the former ROH star being fired from the company. It was also noted that Rush is going to have to put in work to get the heat off of him. It was speculated that Rush would have been released if it weren't for the apology coming soon after the original tweet, based on what sources were saying about the situation.

As part of his program with Mahal, Styles has defeated both Singh Brothers over the last two weeks. Mahal laid out Styles following Styles' match with Samir Singh on Tuesday.

Mahal vs. Styles was always the planned direction, likely for the final pay-per-view of the year on December 17th in Boston. Their program has already started as the main event on the

The current signs, as noted last week, look good. Even though the number that FOX offered UFC currently to renew was a disappointment, it still represented a significant increase over the terms of the last deal, and more than USA pays WWE, even though WWE brings in far more viewers.

It is believed the value of UFC will serve as a benchmark for the value of WWE, and WWE is no longer losing viewers at a high rate as in the past, so the fear of it being yesterday’s news and wrestling as a declining industry really isn’t there now. I mean, it’s not increasing unless you use fake stats like social media, but the fan base is more willing to spend more money and the fan base is steady, with the mature total fan base numbers (TV ratings and attendance) declining some, and the newer parts of the business (WWE Network) increasing at a slow level. But last year at this time they were in double-digit declines, and that’s been steadied.

Chief Strategy and Financial Officer George Barrios noted that the current contract with USA for Raw and Smackdown ends on September 30, 2019, while the U.K. contract with Sky (which has seen drastic drops in audience in recent years) expires on December 31, 2019, the same date as the other of the big three deals, with Sony Pictures in India.

He said to expect an announcement of a new U.S. deal between May and September of next year, or more than a full year before the current deal expires. That would seem to indicate a renewal with USA if a new deal is being announced that far in advance, and that they are in talks and happy enough with how the talks are going and probably in the ballpark from a money standpoint. Losing Raw would be a huge blow to USA because they have nothing they can put on that would generate the kind of numbers WWE gives them for five prime-time hours weekly.

Toni Storm will end up there. She's only 22, so they might just want her to get a few years. Piper Niven is harder to say. I didn't see her work in the tournament. Is she good? They have a few "atypical" women already, so she might be brushed over for those reasons.

That news was announced towards the end of last night's show before Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose lost their tag titles to Cesaro & Sheamus. What Reigns will be doing next week or if he'll be wrestling at Survivor Series wasn't made clear, with Jason Jordan having been announced as the final member of Raw's men's division team.

Reigns was supposed to return on Raw in Atlanta, Georgia next week and be announced as the fifth member of the team. An angle could be shot to have Reigns replace Jordan, though another possibility for Survivor Series was opened up with The New Day costing Reigns' Shield stablemates their tag title match last night.

Brock Lesnar will also be on Raw next Monday, which will be the Survivor Series go-home show. Raw still needs to confirm the final participant for their women's team, with the storyline being that Alicia Fox wouldn't pick Bayley for it last night.
Rumor right now leans towards a Shield vs New Day match at Survivor Series with Reigns on team Shield to make it 3v3.

Omega retained his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Trent Barreta at today's Power Struggle show and called out his next challenger after. It was teased that no one was left to challenge him, but Jericho then appeared in a video ...

After Power Struggle, the other matches that appear to be set for Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome are Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Jay White (who returned to NJPW as Switchblade today) for the IWGP Intercontinental title, Marty Scurll vs. Will Ospreay vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi for the Junior title, and Sho & Yoh vs. The Young Bucks for the Junior tag titles.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reported talks between Jericho and NJPW had been on-going since August and Jericho's upcoming boat cruise likely played a role in why he signed a deal with NJPW. Supposedly he asked WWE first to partner and lend NXT talent for his cruise but they said no. Then asked ROH and NJPW with both saying yes.

Toni Storm is very young. They might want her to get more experience. Piper Niven is different, but they've got girls who are a different. It surprises me that they weren't offered contracts, because they love to sign almost everyone, but I'm not shocked.

SmackDown finished eighth for the night in total viewers on cable and was third in the 18-49 demo with a 0.82 rating. The show trailed American Horror Story in that demo, as it usually does, but also the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on the life of Ric Flair, which did a 0.91 rating and 1.831 million viewers.

That the show was taped did not hurt the SmackDown rating at all, and it may have even helped as WWE itself and several other websites had posted news about a title change before the show aired. AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Championship in last night's main event.

Multiple sources tell us Sami and Kevin were supposed to “feed” for New Day following Zayn vs. Kofi Kingston yesterday, but for some reason they didn’t follow directions and left the ring.

The PWTorch glossary of insider wrestling terms defines “feeding” as: “The heel’s role during a babyface comeback where he runs at the babyface only to be repeatedly fended off, with the hope that the series of bumps by the heel will generate positive fan heat for the babyface.”

Owens hit the ring as soon as the match ended and attacked Kofi as planned. However, he and Sami quickly bailed from the ring. New Day then stood waiting, same for the sound crew who didn’t play anyone’s music, and the segment ended awkwardly when the two wrestlers seemingly went off script by not taking their planned beating afterward.

Since publishing the story on Owens/Zayn being sent home, multiple sources reached out saying the duo have been slightly difficult to work with lately and seem unhappy backstage.

It’s worth noting that they were both close with recently fired writer Jimmy Jacobs and Neville (who hasn’t been heard from since walking out).

Shane made the announcement about Cena joining the team on Twitter: "Further proving #SDLive is the superior brand, I'm happy to announce @JohnCena will be the 5th member of Team Smackdown at #SurvivorSeries."

Raw's team for the match is currently scheduled to be Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and Jason Jordan.

Cena hasn't appeared on WWE television since losing to Roman Reigns at Raw's No Mercy pay-per-view in September. Reigns will return on next week's episode of Raw, possibly setting up his direction for Survivor Series.

In storyline, Cena is currently a "free agent" and can wrestle for both Raw and SmackDown. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the match finish went down as planned but the problem came during the post-match segment. Owens ran in and attacked Kofi as he was supposed to, and The New Day chased him away. Owens and Sami then left together. Apparently Sami and Owens were not supposed to leave right away as they were supposed to stay and get beat up, according to multiple sources. Other sources indicate that this was a complete miscommunication, and it's not like Owens and Sami refused to get beat up by The New Day. There are reportedly no issues related to Owens and Sami being mad about putting The New Day over. The issues were related to the two being expected to get beat up after the match, which was supposed to build their feud to a tag team match next week at SmackDown in Charlotte, NC.

Sami and Owens were told to leave the arena, go back to the hotel and fly home. They are off the current tour but everything else is up in the air. They could be back for Tuesday's SmackDown but nothing is official other than their status for the current tour.

On a related note, the pre-match segment went as it was supposed to but SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon did mess up, which forced officials to make an edit. Shane was booed when he mentioned SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan returning next week, which flustered him a bit. He then realized that fans were booing because they wanted Bryan there that night, not because they don't like him. There was an awkward edit made during that segment and this is why. There was also a mention of "men of honor" and some fans believed that was a reference to Ring of Honor but that was not the case.

There have been quite a few talents that have privately remarked over the course of the week that it's yet another changing of the guard with Scott D'Amore taking the reigns as the lead creative force. There was some grumbling about the amount of attention being paid to Canadian talents at the show and a fear among those from the Nashville days that they are in the process of being shifted out. There was absolutely talk with some talents about taking lesser deals, which didn't help matters. There is a belief some higher paid talents will be the next to exit if they turn down attempts to get them to take less money.

D'Amore was the sole producer for the main event for the Impact championship at the Bound for Glory PPV. Sonjay Dutt and Abyss worked on producing other matches, some in concert with D'Amore, while Gail Kim helped produce the Knockouts championship bout.

Jimmy Jacobs was also working as a Producer this week. At the PPV, he helped set up the Team Impact vs. Team AAA bout.

The Alberto el Patron promo was cut from the UK airing of Bound for Glory. There were some in the locker room unhappy that Patron has his own private locker room (trailer) while the lion's share of the male talent this week has to share one locker room. Apparently, it's part of Patron's deal that he has a private locker room.

We are told Patron left Ottawa this morning, so he will not be at tonight's final TV taping.

All eyes have specifically been on James Storm given that his deal expires in January and the company isn't running again before that, so tonight could be his swan song with Impact. Storm has been with the company since the debut event in June 2002, with the exception of a short exodus to feel the waters out in NXT before returning.

We've heard from several wrestlers that there was a funny back and forth at catering before the Bound for Glory PPV where a X-Division star complained about the food, leading to Bobby Lashley sharply reminding him that he shouldn't even be commenting given his short time in the business before telling him to go buy food if he wasn't happy. Lashley popped a few of the veterans with his blunt response.

Santino Marella was pitched the idea of doing a pre-tape with Grado at Bound for Glory, but declined, instead doing an cameo where he sat in the first row.

The announcing line that Grado was wearing a shirt that Mick Foley gave him was a legitimate story. For those wondering why the match didn't go as well as hoped, we are told Abyss was back way too early from a knee issue. Grado was said to have been really beside himself backstage after the match over it not going well and Abyss was about the same. Despite the storyline stipulation, it's expected that Grado will be back next year.

There’s more than that to the whole situation. Jericho was watching how much attention the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight got, and came to the conclusion that the reason it was going to be such a success (and it ended up grossing more revenue than any combat sports event in history) was because it was two top guys in a match people thought they would never get a chance to see, because they were from different sports and different companies that don’t work together. But they did.

He tried to figure out how he could use what happened there and worked so big in his own world. So he came up with the idea of doing a singles match with Omega, who had become the biggest star in the U.S. with a non-WWE pedigree coming off his win of last year’s G-1 tournament and his Tokyo Dome and Osaka main events with Kazuchika Okada.

Jericho pitched the idea to Callis over the summer, who spoke with Omega about it. Omega was likely going to wrestle Kota Ibushi at the Tokyo Dome, which also figures into why Ibushi will be challenging Cody for the ROH title at the Dome show.

Jericho’s last WWE contract was set to expire with WrestleMania this past April. When he signed the contract, the plan was for Jericho to go into WrestleMania as the Universal champion, and then lose the title at WrestleMania to Kevin Owens. Plans changed, as the decision was made to have Bill Goldberg, rather than Jericho, win the title from Owens, and then lose it to Brock Lesnar. That’s why Jericho vs. Owens turned into a program for the U.S. title. The angle was going to well that he ended up signing a one-month extension to last through early May, and then dropped the title and left, so he’s been a free agent for the past six months, contrary to a lot of reports published this past week.

That said, those close to the situation expect him back in WWE in 2018, with one person saying that they don’t know the date but it could be as early as the Raw 25th anniversary special with the idea he’d have just come from making news and then would return as a bigger deal than before, citing how big the crowds reacted everywhere to A.J. Styles when he made his WWE debut coming from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

No word yet on why Vince McMahon changed plans but lack of interest in Jinder vs. Lesnar may have been a factor. Jinder's WWE Title reign was done to help with their long-term expansion in India and it was widely believed that if Jinder were to drop the title, it would be after the India live events on December 8th and December 9th.

Cena was set to be the special referee for Mahal vs. Lesnar and that decision was actually finalized late last week, after the Styles vs. Mahal match was announced for SmackDown. There was speculation on Cena costing Mahal the match at Survivor Series, leading to a Cena vs. Mahal feud that could end with Cena winning the WWE Title again. The change in direction included removing Cena from the match as there was no reason for him to be there since his role was originally done to set up a future match. WWE is not planning on doing Cena vs. Lesnar or Cena vs. Styles.

For what it's worth, Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that as of last Thursday, Styles vs. Mahal was not to end in a title change but Vince reportedly changed his mind on Saturday.

WWE workers who needed to be aware of the title change were not told until around Monday, one day before the match. Those same people were not clear about whether Jinder would get the title back before Survivor Series as Lesnar's feuds are all booked in advance and Lesnar was told he would be facing Jinder all along. It's possible they have Jinder win the title back before the live events in India or Styles could be added to the India tour to do the change there, then the rematch at Clash of Champions. Styles is currently scheduled to work SmackDown live events while the RAW brand is in India but he could be added to the tour. Jinder Mahal & The Singh Brothers are the only blue brand talents currently booked for the India live events.
