Prichard reminds me of the guy at school who thought he was really funny, but people never actually laughed at his jokes, but he had to have something.

Voted for Jericho.
Mainly for feeling he was the better overall package and the personal connection watching his career over the years being stronger than Andre and his legacy for big men wrestlers. |

I can't argue with the personal connection, but Andre was more than just a legacy for big men wrestlers. The dude left a legacy for wrestling. He is so, so important. Jericho is someone you could probably pluck from history, and sure, you lose quality, but nothing really changes. Well, maybe we don't have the Money in the Bank gimmick, which might be a blessing.

Actually find it crazy Jericho is going to win this, when arguably he has never even been a top 5 guy in any major company, ever.
While Andre is a global icon and was drawing more as an invalid than Y2J drew in his entire career. |

I honestly don't know how anyone could consider Jericho a Rushmore wrestler. Like, your personal fandom of the guy aside, what metrics are you using that he is the top 4 in ANY category? I can understand if he's your favorite or in your four favorites (FAV 5!), but anyone can surely rattle off a list of better or comparable promos off the top of their head. Surely anyone can list four better in-ring performers off the top of their head. Surely someone can rattle off a list of four more significant performers off the top of their head. Surely someone can rattle off a list of four who did ALL of that better than Jericho.
Again, that's not a knock on the guy's legendary talent. But I'm sure even the dude himself would not legitimately put him up there. |

Jericho is a workrate guy and he's current. That's huge IWC advantage. I'm actually pleasantly surprised Andre performed this well. I wanted him in just because I felt like he deserved a shot but I was surprised to see him make it past Cena, let alone take Jericho to the limit.

Realize thats not what you were talking about but thought it worth a mention. Sure Cena is a proven top guy but as Noid and I have talked about he is the top guy in one of the most stagnant decades pkus in wrestling history. Jericho was a player in the hottest era and nipping at the main event in mid 2000 in the shark tank. Cena was given the ball and literally was put over an entire roster in one match and was booed for years by crowds he should have been cheered by. Yeah its the act now, but that was never the intent. Jericho didnt have attributes to be the top guy yet by sheer force of will he has stuck aeound and can work what has become his own schedule and has remained relevant for 20 years. Yeah hes had a couple of stale times but then he would reinvent himself. Now i dont know if that makes him better than Andre... But i stated my reasons for mt Jericho vote there. But its why id rank him wayyyyy ahead of big match john. |

I chose Jericho because while I accept Andre is the bigger name, Jericho has entertained me way more than Andre The Giant has.

No way it's that much of a blowout if it were to happen again. As far as the "Cena not evolving" thing goes, I don't fault him for that. As the face of the company during a dark period, he gets too much of the blame. He was the clear choice for the future of the company when he was a midcarder and his faults as a character came as soon as WWE decided to revolve around him. I honestly think if Jericho were ever put in the position to be face of the company, he would have suffered in a very similar fashion and become stale immediately. If you're running the show and you're looking for a guy to be the face of the company, I think Cena's got that mainstream appeal "it factor" in droves. |

I loved him as a midcarder and he got over in his own. Was super psyched for him to end hhhs reign of terror. But Vince doesnt know how to book babyfaces after Austin. As youve pointed out he even had rock job all the time.

Vince doesn't know how to book heart throb babyfaces. Looks through history. He's never had one outside of Shawn

doesn't really know how to book any babyfaces. Caught fire with Hogan. Austin seems like he wouldn't let Vince do anything dumb with him. I guess he was good between 1998-2000 with the likes of Foley/Rock etc but really I dunno. Other than Hogan, Austin, and Rock he hasn't had anyone who can carry wrestling further than a niche product.

It's tough with Cena. I'd actually say he has evolved as a performer, in that we've seen him get really good in front of our eyes. Keep in mind he was made the top guy six years into his career. We've seen him develop in the spotlight over a 15-year period. It's not just that we've turned a corner on Cena, but he's actually progressed to the point where I believe he could now be a top guy and a real draw. Back when he was pushed, he was still a mid-carder who had the main event look and was just jammed, jammed, jammed as people walked away.
Some of it is on Cena, in the sense that he just wasn't up to scratch for it. A lot of it falls onto Vince and the WWE though. They should have known better and had other guys that they could have run with while Cena was still cooking in order to not sour everyone on him as early as they did. |

I was talking about him more as a well-rounded persona in general. He's a lot more polished in almost every sense. The character itself? It's harder to say. I find it a lot more interesting now than I ever did, because he's the old lion. I don't particularly want any massive sort of changes with him.

I fucking hate the jorts. Always have and always will. I mean, they missed the mark on putting out some stylized John Cena shorts for kids to wear by not giving him specialized attire.

Even coloured basketball shorts would be better and have felt in tune with his character.
Jorts aren't even optimal attire for an athlete. It's weird |
