Raiden turned heel before the reboot, and he was an absolute disaster of a protagonist in MK9. He consistently failed to act, definitely one of the least heroic "good" characters.

Onaga was never resurrected in the current timeline and both Shang Tsung and Kahn are dead. As dead as Kung Lao and Kitana were at least.

Think Scorpion has been teased a few times as being the next "face" of MK after Lui Kang. Him becoming the elder gods champion or something similar that pops up in several endings he has in the series.


Laughed at how when someone finally calls out Raiden for all of his stuff backfiring in MK 9, Raiden ends up killing Lui Kang as part of another mistake he did in the game. In a bit of irony, Raiden's alt ending in Deception revealed he really hates people who screw up that badly since he flat out kills Shujinko for his major screwups.

That actually would make sense since Quan Chi and Havok are the two biggest heels in the game now if I understand correctly (now that Shang Tsung and Shao Khan are dead).


If I also understand correctly, Quan Chi was actually the guy that was responsible for destroying both Sub Zero and Scorpion's clan, and so both Sub-Zero and Scorpion have a common enemy now (and may align with one another as result?).


Cassie Cage looks interesting. If she was a real life person, I would stick my penis in her vagina for sure.

Well it does take place like 25 years later, so it's probably not a direct continuation of the mk9 story.

For me MK2 will always be on that pedestal. It took everything that made MK1 great and made it 100 times better, the music, the fighting style, the graphics, the violence, everything.

I have to admit I have been "out of it" with video-games in recent times but hope to rectify that soon. But in this culture of reboots and remakes, a digital/3d remake of Mortal Kombat 2 really wouldn't go amiss.

Mobile version of the game was revealed to be in development. Will be a free-to-play game and is more similar to WWE Immortals than the console version of MK X.

Arrives around the same time as the console and PC versions of MK X release.

So I started reading the weekly MKX comic which acts as a bridge between MK9 and MKX. It's not particularly good, but it does explain some things that had me confused in the story trailer.

Johnny Cage and Kenshi accidentally got announced earlier than planned as playable fighters for MK X.

Ended up happening during GDC when the senior producer at Netherrealm Studios started to blabber a little too much when talking about the game. Warner Bros has been active getting the GDC videos of his speech removed as quickly as possible from the internet.
