And for the record, I'm totally cool with Cornette being in this poll. The floodgates have opened. Think of the possibilities.

By that standard, you could make the argument that Lawrence Taylor was a wrestler and Curtis Axel isn't a wrestler.

Vince could "work" somewhat because he understands storytelling, and he also has a good body so it made him slightly believable. His matches had fun car crash value, but he was fucking terrible since he is y'know, not a wrestler. He was just ballsy.
Shane is also a shit wrestler, but could take part in good matches because of the car crash value and his willingness to bump. I like Shane better now, shitty punches aside, because at least he's in shape and looks credible. Actually wish he'd do away with the baseball jersies and wrestle in jeans and shirtless or with a beater or something, so he'd look like less of a dink, since he's in good shape now. |

Austin vs. McMahon single handedly saved the wwe at the time. It was the hottest fued going until USA vs Canada

Yup, the Austin/McMahon feud won the Monday Night War, the highest rated era of wrestling. They were pulling like double what Cena has ever pulled.

Vince the character is a ratings draw, and people in those days would shell out scratch to see him get his comeuppance. But he is an AWFUL wrestler lol

He was certainly a great heel character, not a good wrestler.

Vince to Austin is what Bobby Heenan was to Hogan. If WWF had RAW and monthly ppvs in those days, Hogan and Heenan would have had a cage match or something ridiculous. And Heenan could work, probably better than Vince.

Henan wasmt much to hogan. Only for maybe 1 year or so.
Not sure why youre trying to discredit Vinces in ring career though. It happend. It was successful. Its weird lokking back on it. But your entire argumemt is essentially "lol wut" but vince has had a pretty respectable in ring career. And nearly never booked as a fish out of water but instead booked as special attraction. And his angles have done business with a myriad of workers as well as some of the biggest angles of all time. |

Those are just things that happened. Theres no opinion there. Him being better is another argument. But lumping in vince with managers is a bit dishonest to how he booked himself.

I mean fuck...when a top baby face gets a manager or a second in a match there isnt a heat. Hogam took heat from vince for 15 min at WRESTLE MANIA. Lets at least acknowledge the facts.

It's not "lolwut", he just wasn't a good wrestler, and even then, the "special attraction" was the fact that he wasn't really a wrestler by trade.

You can argue he wasnt good at it but the argument that he didnt do it is dishonest

I mean, they're owners playing wrestlers. Good on them for taking bumps, and you can call them wrestlers because they've worked, but they aren't good wrestlers. Shane and Vince can both be good characters and with heavy choreographing have decent matches. Stephanie is a blight on wrestling and is one of the main reasons I don't really watch anymore.

I mean I'm not arguing with you, more puzzled how anyone could vote for Cena over Brock and then vote for Vince over Cena.

He booked himself as a special attraction. And the attraction was that he wasn't a wrestler. That was always the attraction. He was a massively over guy who wasn't a wrestler wrestling massively over wrestlers.

Destor got what he wanted from this round though. An otherwise ho-hum round made interesting by a spirited debate. In the end, Destor has proven himself to be a better booker than anyone currently booking for Raw or Smackdown.

Vince McMahon has wrestled so you can judge him as a wrestler. But to say he's better than John Cena, particularly the same people that said Cena was better than Lesnar, is just fucking retarded.

You SAY he's a HoF level guy... but he got destroyed by Chris Jericho 33-4 last time apparently. Which is just insane.
