He is absolutely fantastic in the role he is in at the moment. Sells the story between him and Ciampa perfectly and just someone who seems to get beaten up incredibly well. His matches have been incredible and while perhaps not world class on the mic, is by no means poor there either.
My only concern is whether there is enough mileage in his current character of lovable underdog and how well he'd be able to transition to something else. Couldn't imagine him heel or doing much differently. But could be wrong on that, maybe he'd be excellent there as well. Also, I hate RAW. |

I assume the people who voted for something else just didn't know that they could ALSO vote "I hate RAW"?

No.
Most people see him as a very talented wrestler. His numerous moty candidates legitimize this praise. He's the focal point of nxt, because A.) More than anything nxt is about great wrestling matches, and as stated above that's something he does very well. And B.) He's arguably the most over guy in nxt, with alleister black being the only challenger. Though black isn't involved with the best and most emotionally charged feud in nxt history. Come back and ask this when the majority is clamoring for him to be WWE champion. As of right now, he's everything people say he is. |

The thing that'll hold him back is the fact that he works best as an underdog face. In the fanbase of 2018, good guy wrestlers are already the redheaded stepchildren of the roster - you're not "cool" if you cheer the heroes, you're cool if you cheer the smug smarkfriendly douchebags.
Long story short - Gargano could go to some theatre classes to improve his facials + carb load himself 20lbs heavier (the 2 things keeping him from Breakout Star status IMO), and he'd still be considered below Ciampa by 95% of the IWC just because he's a babyface and everybody knows babyfaces totally suck. |

That's my biggest problem with WWE - if someone does something well once, they think they are like this ultimate craftsmen expert in that one thing, and it's what they do all the time. I WANT him to do well, and he has the tools to flourish, but when you're the face fighting from the bottom--the WWE doesn't know what to do w/you. |

All true. Doesn't mean he's overrated.

So there seems to be a consensus on his talent level, but just disagreement as to whether or not people rate him that highly. Would you agree that if he was considered a top guy that it would be overrating him?
I can see him going to 205 Live more than ever now. For a while I thought it was ludicrous because he was too good, but since it's now a Triple H show and the fanbase perceives it as having "great matches," and Gargano's gimmick seems to be "little guy that puts together these weird epics for main events," I can see him heading there and being "the guy." |
