Is Jonathan Coachman's addition to the RAW commentary team a detriment to the product?
It goes without saying that The Coach's return to Monday Night RAW as a color commentator hasn't been well received by fans or critics. While I don't have an opinion on his previous run with the company, his current run hasn't been very inspiring. His constant bickering with Cole and Graves and asking mundane questions on a regular basis is definitely cringe-worthy.
How do you feel about The Coach's return thus far? |

Coach has sucked so far
Cole is really awful these days Wish it was just Graves and Tom Phillips calling both shows |

I wish the brand split was enforced strictly with separate in-ring talent, announce team, hosts, backstage interviewers, and referees. I recently listened to an interview where Graves stated that he prefered the 3-hour format as it allowed him to put over the story over more effectively. Having him commentate on Smackdown also (somewhat) risks the possibility of him being overexposed. Also, do we really need 3-man commentary teams?

No Coach give the product instant credibility from being on ESPN and real sports broadcasting.

Coach has been amazing and actually injects useful insights and a fresh perspective on commentary. I enjoy Booker, but it seemed like 20% of his commentary was his dumb catchphrases. I can't imagine how many times while he was on RAW commentary he said "It's gonna be GOOD!", "AWWWWWWW MANNNN!" or "WHAT THE HELL?!".

Coach seems like someone who went to class with out doing his HW. I feel he can get better with time.
But yeah they bicker way too much. |

Wrestling critics are nerds and what fans haven't found him well received? Michael Cole is garbage, you can put Bobby Heenan with Cole and will find the announce team uninspired.

Rather have Coach and Booker T and JBL announce Raw. That would be amusing. Michael Cole sucks

Feel mixed or neutral about him.
He doesn't really add anything special to the RAW team nor would removing suddenly make RAW's commentary a lot better. There would be a lot less bickering by Cole and Graves but then again, its their fault for constantly doing it whenever possible. Its the biggest negative I have for Graves' commentary since he goes overboard with it. WWE messed up big time by not letting Coachman learn more about the current product first and then put him in the booth once he felt comfortable. |

WWE commentary is such a problem. It all sounds very inauthentic and like no one really believes what they are saying. You can't trust them. It makes no difference who is there or not. Performance-wise, I think Coach is the best babyface third wheel they've ever had. I don't think that means much.
