Weekend News Edition
One version of the Steam Machines revealed to be a handheld and will be called the SteamBoy. Its being developed by a company called SteamBoy Machine studio.

The device will feature both WiFi and 3G network models, but no additional information was given at the time.

“SteamBoy is the first device that allows to play Steam games on the go,” the team mentioned in a press release. “You will keep playing your favorite games at the bus, the office, the school or the doctor's waiting room.”

The device looks similar to a Steam Controller and a PlayStation Vita combined in a strange-yet-comforting hybrid. It features Steam Controller’s two touchpads, eight action buttons, four triggers and two additional buttons on the back. According to The Escapist, the device will likely feature an APU setup with quad-core CPU, 4GB REM, 32GB built-in memory and a 5” 16:9 touchscreen.

“SteamBoy won't be as powerful as other announced Steam Machines in the same way [the] Nintendo 3DS or PS Vita performance is not comparable to Wii U or PlayStation 4,” a SteamBoy Machine team rep told The Escapist. “However, it will be possible to play the majority of current games in Steam.”

If they were to buy Capcom and back it with some great funding, I believe MS could do great things with the name - especially Megaman.

There's very little to convince me Microsoft knows how to operate Japanese developers. They'd have the franchises and put out Westernized games under their banner - AKA what got Capcom in the shithole to begin with.

I much rather Sony or Nintendo.

I'd rather none of the console manufacturers buy Capcom. Don't want to see their library of IPs forced to a single console. Not good for consumers, not good for their IPs.

According to Game Informer, your likely better off on average just buying select games from PSN or retail stores than renting them using the upcoming Playstation Now service based on the beta.

In an email sent, Sony deflected blame for the pricing saying it was left entirely in the hands of developers and publishers.

GI's chart comparing around half the games available shows the 4 Hour option and 90 Day option as the source of pricing problems.

It might be that or THQ's fate, dude. Where franchises are scattered to the wind and at the whim of other studios who may or may not get it.

It won't matter if they're not build right. There's already solid replacements coming for their own stuff. Mighty #9 looks more than worthy. Evil Within is the true successor to RE4 before things got weird. And Bayonetta is just a better action game than DMC. All of them done by ex Capcom staff.

I wasn't a HUGE Halo mark from the beginning, but I do enjoy the game quite a bit. It was my first online shooter on X Box. Spartan Assault is so-so, but leaves more to be desired. I would like for someone to do a modern Smash TV remake, that would be hellafun.

I am on 6-2 on Max, Mustachio's Lair or something, I assume I am close to finishing the game.

Yea you are def getting there. I honestly wouldn't mind another game using the same mechanics as Max. But with more brutal difficulty like a lot of the new age puzzle/platformers.

1) Riot Games states they are disabling League of Legends public chat rooms with the official reason related to too much spam and scammers constantly flooding the chats.

2) Airtight Games, developer of Murdered: Soul Suspect, has recently shut down according to a report from Game Informer and later confirmed by GeekWire.

3) A new indie studio formed by former EA and Rockstar employees called Variable State revealed their first game will be called Virginia and is a first person interactive drama. As a hint to how the game might end up, the studio mentioned tv dramas like Twin Peaks, X-Files, and Outer Limits are the big sources of inspiration for the project.
