Big Bully Busick passes away at 63
http://www.wwe.com/article/big-bully-busick-passes
"Former WWE Superstar Nick “Big Bully” Busick has passed away at the age of 63, WWE is saddened to learn. A notorious in-ring villain known for his signature derby and mustache, Busick battled Superstars like Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Sid Justice and The British Bulldog in the early ’90s. WWE extends its condolences to Busick’s family, friends and fans." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I caught sight of the Bully in the GWF, we would get it on one of the higher UHF stations. It blew my mind whenever I saw him come to the WWF jobbing to British Bulldog and Sid Justice, feuding with the Brooklyn Brawler, I was so used to seeing him as an absolute monster knocking out Global guys left and right with his Heart Punch He didn't have much luck health-wise in later years, he had a heart attack, then was diagnosed with throat cancer, beat that, then was diagnosed most recently with a brain tumor. |

Light work! Always loved Sid's one-handed chokeslam and powerslam. Funny that Wippleman ended up being his manager later. But how sad is it that I'm glad that Busick was at least over 50?

It's amazing to me that Busick could take that variation, as large a man as he was.
And his stump puller was solid. |

Here he was in Global Wrestling Federation, using the Bully Blaster, one of the best Heart Punches in the business. One of the reasons why he wasn't as big a star in WWF was because he had a very short stint, as he was on vacation from his job as an Atlanta Police Officer. I think the other reason is that Vince didn't know what Super Mario Brothers was. Otherwise, some babyface would have called Busick "Mario" and it would have stuck, like it did in Texas. |
