Who has really benefitted from the Authority angle so far?
Who, if anyone, has really benefited so far from the Authority angle?
I'd argue that Orton hasn't in regards to being the "Face of the WWE" nor as champion considering the title has been vacated just as long as he's held it. I'd also argue Big Show hasn't overall in regards to him being more like Bryan in having short term moments but got tossed aside once something new appeared. If its Triple H and Stephanie, have they benefited too much from the angle so far? |

At this point I'm honestly wondering if the WWE is purposely not paying off any Authority-related angles just to try and draw as much heat as possible to HHH and Steph. When people stop cheering HHH, he'll be able to "take his rightful place beside" Vince and they'll rule the Empire together.

I think Stephanie has actually gained the most here.

I was thinking about this the other day. The more this has storyline has been going, the more I think creative has zero direction or no clue how this is going to end.
It's like, who's really "the guy". First we thought it was going to be Bryan, then it shifted to Big Show, now we're on Cena. And what was being drawn up as a title reign for Bryan is now a title belt unification. I'm down for the insubordinate employee vs. management angle. (See Austin vs. McMahon, Orton vs. McMahon) where it's just built around 1 guy. But these past few months, I'm lost. So I guess to answer the question, Steph coming back on TV and looking good is the only one who's gotten something out of this. |

Surprising answer. Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Goldust was unemployed and Cody couldn't get over as either a Face or Heel for years. This angle comes along and they are in Main Events and putting on amazing matches every week.

I think once Big Show replaced Bryan as the focus, the whole thing started to suck. He was more fun as a stooge, mistreated worker.

As far as people benefiting, I'd agree with Corndad. The Rhodes' have ended up in a better position because of the Authority existing. Big Show was looking like a million bucks from it before he got rehired and was a guy the Authority really had to worry about but that only lasted until he got rehired and was no longer anything for them to be concerned with. |

I don't know what the heck they are doing with Orton either. At first I though, "yeah cool, Orton is going to be allied with Trips and Steph and they are all going to go on a corporate reign of terror together".
Instead, Orton keeps being distanced by The Authority, and went back to being "the viper" instead of "CorprOrton". |

Is Kane benefiting? No because he is just a man in a suit and does he even wrestle now? It would be awesome if he wrestled in the suit

Cena. It's all about John Cena. I have no doubt that the authority will have Cena on their side after TLC. The corporate champion, he fits the role perfectly, and will no doubt turn heel at the PPV.
I don't know what to think of Orton, he's been scheming behind the back of the authority, and saying he is bigger than the WWE itself. I see the authority turning Cena into their champion and Orton becoming the mega over star from all of this. |

On the other hand, it totally should. Because it would open up many options for them creatively. |

Not trying to be clever, but Motorhead has benefited the most from this. I find it odd that a suited HHH comes out to such heralded battle type music when he is a corporate figure. I guess it keeps Motorhead relevant and I think they need to write a more "suited" song to increase the role. I'm not totally immersing myself into the story when I'm singing Motorhead and supposed to be hating this guy, when the fact is that I look forward to his entrance.

Stephanie definitely got the most spotlight on her since this angle started. She would show up maybe once or twice a year for the last few years, and now she's on three segments a week.

It would rule if Jon turned heel. It would make a lot more sense lol.

Daniel Bryan is pretty fucking perpetually over from this entire thing. I mean, I disagree with certain creative decisions (Bryan just seems to be rolling over and kissing his shot at championship glory goodbye), and he was already fucking over before that, but Bryan is still probably the most over guy in the company and everybody knows it.

Definately HHH and Steph.
I don't think they want to set up a new McMahon-Helmsley era or Austin/McMahon style feud. I think they are setting them up to be like a typical boss. Everybody hates their boss, right, even though the boss is just trying to do the best thing for the company? The Orton thing (the title being vacated) convinced me of this, as he hasn't been constantly aligned with them. |

For a couple weeks when Show was fired and he was the big thorn in the side of the authority it was the best job WWE booking has done of making someone look like a million bucks in a REALLY long time. It fizzled out immediately once he got re-hired and was at the mercy of the Authorityand lead to one of the weakest hyped PPV main events in recent memory but for that short span, they got things fucking perfect.
