• Match of the Night has to be Usos/New Day. I was growing really tired of The New Day but that match seems to have got me interested in them again and The Usos were yet again top-notch.

Before their heel turn just over a year ago, I was growing tired of them just like I was with The New Day but since then, I've loved The Usos and everything they've done has been nothing short of golden.

I'm so glad they're Tag Team Champions. They should never lose those championships.

• Rusev loses again. I didn't see that one coming.

SPOILER: show
I actually did.

• Fuck Baron Corbin.

• Not much to say about the Charlotte/Natalya match other than I get the feeling that we'll eventually see them fight over the title in a Submission Match. Most likely at Survivor Series.

Also, I may be wrong, but it does certainly feel like that Charlotte has done nothing but cry since turning face in May. She's reminding me of The Big Show back between 2011 and 2013.

• I still can't get into Nakamura. I've tried and I just can't. Sorry.

Mahal retaining and in the manner he did it is all good with me. I'm just trying to think who his next opponent will be. My first thought is Orton but he's not long had a shot but this is the WWE we're talking about so it probably will be Orton.

• There wasn't really anything special with Roode/Ziggler if I'm honest. I knew Ziggler's entrance would be nothing and I do like the idea of Ziggler being no flash and all business. Hopefully we won't even get the beginning of his theme when he makes his way to the ring. It'll just be Ziggler, no music, no flashiness and just a spotlight until he gets to the mats.

As for Roode, he's going the way of Nakamura for me as I'm struggling to find him interesting. I find myself agreeing with Ziggler's claim that Roode is "just an entrance" because to me, at the moment, he is just an entrance and it seems like I'm not the only one that agrees, judging by the crowds during his matches.

His entrance pretty much blows the roof off with everyone on their feet and joining in with saying "glorious" and singing along and sticking their arms out, but during his match, the crowd goes pretty silent and in the case of last night, they start chanting the name of the arena sponsor.

• I skipped most of Owens/Shane mostly because I really don't care about the angle and especially about Owens himself.

I did watch the last few minutes of it however and even though I was a little surprised at Zayn's involvement at the end, I did sigh at the thought of more Owens/Zayn.

Seriously, I sick of both of them. Be it together or against each other (mostly the latter), I'm just sick of them.

• Overall, the event was a bit underwhelming for me with the only positives being the opening match and The Fashion Files, if I'm honest.

One of two things.

Either A) leading to the debut of a new team for them to feud with (seemed to be the plan for a while, but they've clearly backed away from it.....they've been teasing it since June.)

or

B) The Usos wind up in the story and Breezango end up as their next challengers. But I think the New Day feud will carry on through Survivor Series which is still a ways away.

Don't get me wrong, I love the segments and think they're hilarious. I'd much rather have this than not see them at all. But I don't get the impression that WWE actually have any real plans for them when it looked like they did when the segments first started. Case in point how many times have they teased the case being closed on a PPV only for it to continue with no resolution? They even seem to be poking fun at it themselves by saying "this would be a huge waste of time if it's The Ascension again"

Yeah, if they were at TLC, maybe maybe get a TLC match out of it.

They'll probably have the contractual rematch on Smackdown and then I reckon they'll tease a break-up, even if they don't pull the trigger on it yet.

Just finished the main, enjoyed the story it told but it felt like they took too long to hit each beat.

Samis facials are incredible though. I fucking love the way he looks like he can't believe what he just dead and looked at Shanes kids with that face.

He's always been so good at that though. I loved just before the final Helluva Kick against Neville he just did that one look as he gets ready like he knows he's about to win the title, save his career and he's thinking about all the people that told him he couldn't do it.



Weird how someone who spent most of his career in a mask picked up that aspect so quickly.

Didn't like the idea of Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin just being American Alpha Beta, but I actually liked them together. There's something about how...just two guys they are. I dunno, I find it charming. But I've always had a soft spot for Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable is pretty great.

I think there's money in Gable as a singles dude, but I definitely don't hate this team at the moment.

I have been preaching it for months, and now I think much of TPDub is behind me on this:

Jinder Mahall needs to feud with the New Day.

The logic is actually simple: Jinder always has his underlings helping him out. With the New Day, the odds are even. Fans will get into that. And you can stretch the program out until Wrestlemania. Jinder vs. Xavier for Survivor Series. Jinder vs. Kofi at Royal Rumble. Jinder finally dropping the belt to Big E at Wrestlemania.

One of the other ideas I had was, during the feud, Jinder fires the Singh brothers before his match with Kofi. So, the New Day lets Kofi go alone... only to get dismantled by Jinder's new charges... the Authors of Pain.

Oddly enough, I was actually uncomfortable watching all the baseball bat swings with the kendo sticks; and the fighting on top of the cell. I kept thinking someone was going to fall through the cage and/or trip over a beam and fall off. When Shane climbed up and fought with KO to get up, as well when they fought while climbing down I thought someone was going to slip and fall to the floor. Legit, felt uncomfortable.

On a match note, why does Shane constantly jump off the cage? He has never hit anyone while doing so othe than the big Show off the titan tron, so there is no drama to me in him jumping. It's just an ego spot.

And that's a fair point, as well. But Steen is in fact a guy who has gone over John Cena and held several singles titles. He's a guy who is in a wrestling ring on a regular basis.
