I think saying "It's just a house show" is a cop out to the non IWC fans. If I went to a show, and thought I'd seen something cool like Rusev finally being beaten, and it wasn't acknowledged on TV, why would I bother going to shows again? They (house shows) obviously don't mater. And if it was just a casual fan who went, and watched the weekly shows, wouldn't you be confused as to why this guy is being billed as not being pinned when you'd sen it with your own eyes.

In saying that, I don't think anyone was getting upset about it, he was just saying it was stupid booking.

That's their whole gimmick. Everyone used to bitch about how indyriffic they were. So they pretty much perfected the art of it. He did miss on that move you're talking about (which they call "The Meltzer Driver.") But they are one of the crispest teams ever when it comes to the spotfest style they do.

Could see them getting signed as spotfest Hardy Boyz type team, they'd have to cut out half their move set, but they make a decent living in Japan/on the Indys.

I read that they recently turned down an NXT contract because of how much they make in Japan/Indys between booking and merch. But yeah you're right, I think they'd be able to be the new and improved Hardy Boyz. If WWE can take Tyler Black and make Seth Rollins then I'm sure The Young Bucks could fit into the WWE tag team scene.

There was more to the Hardyz than just the spots. Half of their importance was that high pitched squeal when they took their shirts off.

I'm not even saying that to diminish Matt and Jeff's importance. I'm saying that because that high pitched squeal paid money to go see them, and likely bought a t-shirt and a fishnet sleeve while they were there.

I am not familiar with the Bucks, but if they can generate that reaction, than more power to them.

There was alot to the hardy boyz.

They had a unique look at the time. They were brothers. they were young. Ladies loved them. They had high spots. they had a gimmick that was just FLIPS (Crazy to think "Its 1998 and we are young EXTREME kids" was a gimmick). They had a sexy girl with them.

Young Bucks are a poor mans Hardy boys at best.

I first saw the Young Bucks on the short lived NWA Wrestling Showcase on ColoursTV show. Back then they were spot monkeys that had no pacing at all. Since then I had just seen clips of them, until the other night when I saw the opening 4 team match from Wrestle Kingdom 9. Holy fuck they haven't improved one bit. I think they have gotten worse. And that Meltzer driver move has to be the stupidest finisher in 20 years.

It sucks that to lesser talents like the Bucks can make a decent living off wrestling when much better talent can't. Hell I have seen better tag teams on tiny indy shows here in the backwoods of MS.

I was way more impressed with Kushida than with anyone else in that match. All his movements chain together so well, and he executes everything with such smoothness.

Reminds of Mysterio circa 96

Due to live event reports online, there has been some confusion over whether or not WWE United States Champion Rusev was finally pinned by Roman Reigns in the non-title main event of Sunday's WWE live event from Beaumont, Texas. Reigns did win the match but he won by disqualification when Rusev hit a low blow. Rusev still has not been pinned.

The EXACT same thing happened when Steve Karel's Urban Wrestling Federation filmed their first PPV there and this is one of the reasons ROH didn't run Final Battle at the venue last month ...

Beyond the technical issues, there were also delays due to the show being "live to tape" so they had to wait for pre-tapes to run within the context of the broadcast, etc. before they could go to the next in-ring segment. If you saw the show, there were obviously issues with the direction missing shots as well. I don't know who directed the show, but it was not David Sahadi, who had been directing the shows. It was obvious there was a lot of "ring rust" production-wise, which considering the promotion hasn't produced a live to tape show since June of 2014, you almost have to expect. As I reported Monday in the Elite section, after last night's episode, TNA will be post-producing all of their episodes in Nashville as opposed to cutting the shows live at the tapings.

Del Rio signing with TNA may be a long shot because he's receiving so many offers and some would likely conflict with TNA, including Lucha Underground. People close to Del Rio have advised him that TNA is a sinking ship and does nothing but hurt the careers of talents who go there.

This also came on the show the week after Daniel Bryan (people didn't know he wouldn't be on the show) and with the return of The Authority, so the idea ratings were down because of The Authority being gone was blown up.
Being considered as really bad since the bump was around5% and usually the post-MNF week(s) has a 10% or more boost. Next week could be really bad depending on how the Oregon vs Ohio State title game goes.

Some other sheet news include NOLA's interview with Bryan included him wanting to face Lesnar at Mania this year and getting a stinger against Orton on a RAW episode was the reason why he needed surgery.

Also, house shows are selectively sometimes cannon. A lot of times, a title will change hands twice uncredited between two TV airings, and the original champ appers to have never lost... until they decide to do broadcast something like Kevin Nash's 9 second title win.

The rarity of something on a house show is so rare it's not selling point. Also why I rarley go to Smackdown when it comes around. If I go to Smackdown its a spur of the moment same-day plan.

I'd only go to Raw or a PPV under normal circumstances. (mostly PPV)

The defeat only happens if it was announced on Raw.

Or it wouldn't make sense to "fire" the IC champ so they had him lose the title.

they could do the punk storyline zigler says he is going to take the belt dawn to dixie, or even better leave in a nice car holding up the belt like aj styles did.

Or they do a tournament to crown a new champ. Have 8 guys cut little vignettes explaining why they want to be IC Champion, emphasising it's history, previous holders, and what winning the belt would mean to them. Even have the likes of Bret, Austin, Rock, Shawn, etc. talking about what it meant to their career. Basically restore a bit of it's history and prestige.

What I'd personally love to do here would be have Jericho return to break his own record as a 10-time IC Champion and work a Mania programme with Barrett. There's plenty of history there and I believe Jericho wanted to work a Mania programme with Barrett when he had the Fandango deal. Ziggler would then come back to work a programme with someone from The Authority.
