Enjoyed both Rumbles.
Only thing I really hated was how the women kept rolling out of the ring and chilling on the outside. I literally kept having to ask and wonder if people were still in the match or not. I don't know why they couldn't just book it like the men and just have them all laying around the mat in the ring. Part of a Rumble's charm is seeing the ring full of people. |

Damn. Saw Black Widow posted and expected a wonderfully racist rant. What a disappointment.

Let's be honest... Chris Kreski has been dead for years and was essentially mocked by Vince and co. Which is a damn shame. The guy was the best writer the WWE ever had. |

Rumbles were pretty good, Men's was pretty much what I expected, nice surprise with Rey & Hurricane and giving a couple NXT stars a chance to shine. Women's rumble was pretty good too, could have gone without all the stalling and resting at ringside though, it was hard to keep track of who was still around and not eliminated. Also would have had a bit bigger impact if most of the "surprises" had not appeared to Raw the previous Monday.....
Also wasn't a huge fan of women's rumble going on last, I get why they did it, but it seemed like it would have done better if it opened the show and benefited from a super hot crowd, no doubt in my mind the crowd would have been much hotter for the returns and Rousey's appearance afterwards. |

The crowd I was with HATED the Men's Rumble. I am glad that Nakamura won, and the Heath Slater bit was awesome. You can tell they are trying to have Sheamus do as little as possible. I don't get the pancakes thing with the New Day.
The Women's Rumble had a lot of rolling out and what not, the Men's Rumble had a lot of guys laying in the ring and doing nothing, which pisses me off even more. |

It was literally the first thing I thought of. Like when you make a CAW and can put any pattern on anyone's gear.
"Seth Rollins, we commin' for YOU, nigga!" I wonder if he licensed the rights to wear the flames from Stevie Ray, or if he is going to face litigation and end up having to use the Leave It To Beaver theme for his entrance like Booker did. |

I was one of Rey's biggest detractors towards the end of his WWE run. Looked a lot slower than he used to. Generally looked like he didn't care, and was just going through the motions, putting in formulaic matches.
He looked fucking amazing here. I mean, just looking at him, you could tell he was in amazing shape, but his speed was faster than I remember seeing him since early into his original WWE run. Really hope this isn't a one off and he's back for good, because as great as he looked, there are some amazing dream matches we could get with the current roster. |

I also forgot to say earlier in the thread, how impressive is Ember Moon? Based on that little sample of work I am excited to see her on the main roster sometime soon.

He was a big influence on her. It's why she goes by "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. It helped her a lot when she broke into MMA as she adopted a heelish, outspoken persona a la Roddy Piper.
Obviously not as nuanced/charismatic as Piper, but in the MMA world if you add some theatrics to arm barring the shit out of people, it tends to draw. IMO what also helped her draw is she had a distinct "finishing move"--in MMA it's almost impossible to have a lights out move, just by its nature. But her Armbar was the most feared move in the world at one point. |

Maybe next year they can reduce this women's "rumble" match to 20 participants and actually keep them in the fucking ring as opposed to people vanishing for upto 10 minutes only to reappear after they had taken their breather. Constantly wondering if "x" person was eliminated because of that shit was the running theme.

Won $270 in our Rumble lottery for Nakamura winning. Didn't do one for the Women's Rumble since we weren't sure who all was going to be in it. Maybe next year.

Numbers didn't no, but having to bring in a load of people who hadn't done anything in wwe in years to pad out the numbers was a dumb decision. Its ok doing fan service but there was a lot more than expected getting trotted out to this match. A 20 person battle royal would have been a better way to go imo, less part time brigade and more emphasis on the current roster.

Given that they were trying to put over the "HISTORIC" aspect of the women's Rumble, having all of those returnees in there made sense to me, even if it was slightly underwhelming considering how many of them made cameos on Raw 25.
For future years though, it's gonna be tough to fill 30 spots I think. |

A lot more fun than a lot of recent Rumbles. Not sure why they decided to do the weird awkward silent ending. But hey.

From what I saw, I'd give the show an A. Esp for WWE standards.
In saying that, Steph was horrific on commentary. |

Was honestly expecting more NXT women to pad the numbers instead of old stars.
Was great to see Molly Holly, though. Everyone else's impact was slightly lessened by "oh, I just saw them on RAW" |

The next three Rumbles will look a lot like this one did I'm sure, for the women.
Really good show from WWE. I'd say the men's Rumble was MOTN. Really fun match, great final four finish. Women did a good job, some of them were horrible (Kelly Kelly and Mrs. Taker) and I actually thought they may go with Trish to win it at one point. Auska killed it, shes a star. Really cool to have two Japanese Rumble winners as well. |

Were Sheamus, Cesaro, and Rollins the first people to ever be in a Rumble and then wrestle again later in the card? They have to be, right? It's normally always closed and on the rare occasion it hasn't it's been followed by a World Title match or something.
Wasn't a big deal or anything, it was just the weirdest part of the show for me. That tag match was doomed going after the emotional high of that Rumble and the crowd didn't even make a peep for Rollins' entrance since they'd only just seen him. If I had my druthers I'd have kept them out of the Rumble and put in Cedric Alexander (who got shafted out of a payday thanks to Enzo), Zack Ryder (who would be attacked and replaced by Owens), and Curt Hawkins (to take the Sheamus comedy elimination spot, because of course). |

I think we need a new gesture, like pelvic thrusting towards a sign, or grabbing a balloon that has Wrestlemania, or pointing to Michael Cole's ass that has WRESTLEMANIA tattooed on it.

Yeah, would have preferred Cross, Peyton and Billie over Kelly, Torrie, and McCool, since the latter represented the piss break era.

Dunno, if he can work out a deal where he gets a lighter schedule, I could see him keeping up. Pays it back by putting over new stars.

That or they'll dip into the Mae Young Classic pool and bring in people like Toni Storm and Piper Niven who even if unsigned will probably get a good pop from the smark-heavy crowd that knows who they are. |

Bringing in unknowns comes with the expectation of following up with that talent...theres a commitment there and the roster space is so damn small...
