Yep. And other movies that drew less were better movies. Other wrestlers who drew less were better wrestlers.

You coullllld go as far to call Hogan the Marvel franchise to be a little more fair to his far reaching success
.. Or Star Wars. Then the parallels get interesting. |

Analogy is bad though. Paying customers paid to see hogan for 25 years. Thats what good wrestlers do, they convince you theyre worth your money.
I love Chris Benoits work. Could watch him forever. He isnt better than john cena, cena convinced more people that he was worth money. Thats the business. Michaels convinced you, and you voted for him based off that...thay means youre getting worked even now. Hogan was better, he worked more people...he just hasnt aged well. I can say that...because its an objective opinion...ive never seen a hogan match i liked post...88...ish. lesnar killing him was great. He's still easily better than the much more entertaining HBM. But we will have the WHATS A RASSLER argument for 10 pages...every 3 days ornso... |

Im familiar with the drawing power argument. It holds weight but not enough for me to say Hogan is better than Michaels.

Hogan was really good before 88 though. Was pretty damn mobile for a big lug.

Tough choice but gave the slight nod to HBK.
Give HBK the nod in terms of in-ring skills and Hogan the nod in terms of promo skills and character/gimmick. Hogan was the bigger star in terms of drawing power but felt HBK's career longevity was better albeit with the years long break. Both did some damage to their respective companies although HBK's damage to the WWF was fixable compared to Hogan playing a major role in WCW's demise and Impact's damaging downward spiral. |

Also HBK vs Hogan is not the same as Cena vs Benoit
Benoit's weaknesses are way too glaring as much as I love him in ring. HBK brought much more to the table. |

Nah, in ring is then only place HBM put shines hogan so the comparison is perfect.

Every other measurable Cena trumps Benoit and the answer would be clear to anyone being objective....should be the same here

I'm pretty sure I have voted on who I like more in the past, but since Hogan is so far behind I will let myself be convinced and vote for him. |

Michaels was still good on the mic and had the character element nailed. not as good as Hogan but still good.
Benoit was great in the ring but utterly bland in every other way. |

of course, but since hes not as good those aspects dont matter, the winner is hogan. So HBM is winning because his matches were a billion times better...hence benoit v cena makes perfect sense. |

Well Cena is still a pretty damned good worker. Not a technician a la Benoit but unlike Hogan (circa 1988 and beyond) he actually tries in the ring and has good matches.

I like Benoit better than Cena but I'd vote Cena over Benoit.
IMO Michaels is an all time great and while Hogan drew more, HBK IS THE SHOWSTOPPA |

I dunno about that logic. I don't think it's wise to go trait to trait. You have to look at the whole performer. HBK was entertaining as an all round personality too and had a cool gimmick and character. He was charismatic (just look at his entrance)
He was a fantastic package in his own rite. Just cause Hogan was more over and has more charisma, doesn't take away from what HBK was. His charisma doesn't go to zero, just because Hogan had more. |

I don't. I'm not about to go back and watch Hogan/Andre, but I might fucks with more than a few Cena matches. Punk/Michaels/Umaga/Styles...just to name a few that just popped into my head.
Basically this argument is the same as before though. Better draw versus better wrestler. I voted for the wrestler. |

To me, a wrestler is a wrestler who makes wrestlings in a wrestle ring. And Shawn Michaels is clearly that.

But it's not illogical. We are simply grading on a different metric.
It's not "Most monetarily successful wrestler", it's "Best wrestler". Of course, being a draw plays its part, but it's not the be all and end all. |

Not at all. Love me some Deano Machino, and he had his place on the card to be dynamite, but HBK was captivating.
