Today's News:
1) Nintendo currently rumored to be releasing a "Year of Luigi" themed 2DS later this year. http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumo...nor-year-luigi 2) During an interview with Edge, EA stressed Titanfall will not be arriving for the PS3/PS4, they won't be completely favoring Microsoft for the next gen, and they fully expect the F2P and micro-transactions model to replace the current DLC model for the upcoming next gen. http://www.destructoid.com/console-w...--264158.phtml 3) According to Guerrilla Games, Killzone Shadow Fall requires a Day One 7.5 GB download before the game can be played and the game itself would have been a lot bigger than 40GB if they didn't have issues during development. It was hinted the game at one point was around 180 GB in size and would have come close to 300 GB if they included everything possible. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...can-be-played/ http://www.destructoid.com/40gb-soun...b-264194.phtml |

I wrote a blog recently about what 343i could do to help their population split issues with each DLC launch and I think the idea could be used in any other FPS shooter. I'm thinking Respawn already has something like this in mind.

Can't help laughing at anybody over the age of 11 playing Pokemon... seems judgmental and hypocritical, but seriously

I'd love a 3DS purely for Pokemon. I don't see anything bad about playing kiddie games, unless they're some Bratz game... I fucking loved Viva Pinata!

Hypocritical insomuch as people view video games as childish in general and I have no problem playing video games, Pokemon is just on another level

Pokemon is an age appropriate game for eight years olds... yeah I play video games and "the masses" view that as unacceptable, but as we know they can be a positive medium of entertainment and enrichment just like books and movies can be. Pokemon just seems silly to me, like you can say Mario and Yoshi are just as childish but those aren't alienating to people because they're recognized as icons. Pokemon is some obscure thing that only kids really know about, their parents know nothing about it, and it seems like it's made for and played by little kids. It's a shame too cause the game mechanics are actually pretty good, Shin Megami Tensei sort of ran with a similar concept and I liked it a lot.

It's acceptable for young adults to play pokemon because they were kids when it came out. I was too old for it when it came out. Anybody older than 30 (right now in 2013) playing pokemon is pathetic.

Even if that is true who cares? Yoshi isn't the main character/focus. I don't think it's true though.

Not a single decent argument for why the game is on 'another level' as far as being for kids. The competitive mechanics are deep, it's made well, the online features are sophisticated for a handheld, each iteration rises above the last (something never done for kids games unless longtime adopters are taken into account).
Your points boil down to the old 'core/mature vs casual/kiddie' tirade that's barely worth replying to so I'll just stop here. |

You're basically throwing aesthetics and core mechanics in one lump that's kinda saddening for a guy your age. Go figure.

I'm not saying my purchase isn't pathetic. Although I have balance issues and never learned to ride a bicycle. Needed something to get around to work instead of taking the bus, walking or taxi every day.
I don't have a problem with anybody here playing the game Pokemon. The game is made to be addictive and they were hooked at a young age. |

Finally got around to playing Mass Effect 3, and finished it tonight.
Just.....I don't even know. Gonna elaborate more tomorrow when it's not ungodly late, but for now, I'll say that despite the thousands of hours poured into fighting games, this is still my favorite series this console generation. And the margin isn't even close, hadukens be damned. |

The point is that it was a key point of his argument. Pikachu has had a shit ton more mainstream exposure than Yoshi over the past 15 years, and Pikachu isn't even the "main focus" either if you want to get pedantic.

Pikachu is Pokemon's Slimer. He's one of the main focus on the cartoon based on the original product. He might not be the main focus of the game but he is the face of Pokemon.

I rather hate Pikachu. He's by far one of my least favorite Pokemon. I'd put it up their with Magikarp, but at least Magikarp evolves into a fucking badass.
