Who still plays WWF No Mercy for N64?
This still is a time to time tradition with me and my friends, but got me thinking if anyone else still regularly plays this game. Was considering trying to start up an online federation for the game if it's still popular enough.

Not regularly, but if I get bored with the games I have on my current console, then I may bust out the 64 for a match or two.

I'm hoping No Mercy makes it way to online purchase on the wii.

Well, the fact that you play it once a week 7 years after it was released says something.
But no, I don't. |

I can't get a bug free version of the game for my N64 off ebay. Bought two copies and they both have the bug where it wipes all your created wrestlers and title challenges out.

I'd love for them to release it on the VC but unless THQ is willing to go back and make it current (especially because of the WWF stuff in it) I couldn't see it coming out.

Its not a bug its a problem with the battery backup. Those batteries are only meant to last 5 years or so anyway so theyre probably just expired.
I play the game now and again, its still amusing to see hand animated moves that are better than some of the shit in the smackdowen series. For example the jacknife powerbomb in smackdown 07..kinda looks like hes almost falling over while delivering it,(also looks fuck all like a jacknife) in no mercy and all those games it looks perfect. |

I don't know what gerad is talking about.
but I remember sending my first copy back and getting an unbugged version, was a pretty annoying bug really. Last edited by Mr Regal; 10-14-2007 at 05:58 PM. |

n64 games used battery backup like snes games to save info to the cartridge. Memory cards were also used but a lot of carts came with the battery backup system. What caused no mercy to be faulty was a batch of bad batteries in the cartridge. Over time though they just die off themselves like any other kind of battery. |

After No Mercy, I found it hard going back to the other versions because of limited move lists. When me and my friends play, we go hardcore and take advantage of every move.
Usually we have matches that last around 20-30 minutes, and a few Triple Threats that have gone 45-60 minutes. Also the most offensive move is usually gettings if when he runs at you...will he hit you or grapple you? |

I would love a rehashed version of No Mercy. Exact same engine just with updated shit and tonsssssssssssssssssssss more moves and stuff. I'll prolly just play No Mercy anyway.

Man I loved that game, the season modewas the best thing about it, as you could lose a match and it wouldn’t matter, you’d just follow a different path, so to see all the possible stories you’d have to lose a few. I did love that engine, I don’t really like the smackdown vs raw games in comparison, they just seem too much like an arcade game in comparison. Do you think there’s any chance of us ever getting a game like that again? Same engine, just with better graphics would be great |

I remember playing this game against my freinds and they would get so mad because they just couldn't beat me. We even went as far as to have a handicap match with the ref in their corner just so they could get a win. 45 minutes later my refferee freind decided there was no hope and counted to my sweet victory.

I wish I knew back when this game was new of the recall of the bad cartridges.
I never really bothered unlocking everything due to losing all the data every 2 months or so. |

I always preferred the Wrestlemania game to No Mercy; I was a savage on the former, and WCW Nitro for that matter.

I still play WM 2000. I always thought WM 2000 was better than No Way Out. No Mercy. No Mercy felt too laggy.

I never had wm2000 or no mercy on n64. Had nwo world tour and the other one, revenge? Which was my favourite. Didnt they have the same game engine?

I sometimes use my old N64 to play WM2k or Revenge (tbf I only bought that console to have that game).
Sadly, No Mercy was never realesed in Europe, so I only played it using an emulator and shit's just not the same. |
