As far as Mania is concerned though there are only about 2 or 3 matches that really pique my interest. Enough to go back and check them out the next day maybe but not enough to watch the full 7 hour show in one sitting. |

Win or Lose roman has to DESTORY the undertaker. Preferably after the match. Would mean more from him if he wins though, but if they are trying to do Cena/Taker next year he shouldn't.

Glad I turned this off when I did.
Vendor I deal with at work is going to flying down to Orlando to catch 'Mania. Going to see if I can talk him out of it since it's looking pretty bad. With a good match here and there. |

That's the spirit, think about the bright side. I did think they were teasing a ladder match. Although triple threat is no rules, so maybe they just incorporate ladders into the match at Mania.

Would absolutely love the tag match to be a ladder match. I feel like they would have made a "breaking announcement" on the show to make that official, though.
Match should be fun either way. |

The ladder match idea you all are floating around is a seg into Karl Anderson and Gallows falling off the ladder into a portal only to re-emerge as Chad 2 Badd and Tex Ferguson right???

Can't do that until the Hardys return and send Gallows and Anderson into the Lake of Reincarnation.

I dunno, maybe i am being harsh, it just feels like there is so much filler and you miss nothing by not watching anymore.
Gone are the days of genuine stars and must see TV I guess. Almost guaranteed match quality will be great as always on Sunday though, which wasn't always the case in the past. |

Why did this Raw suck? Braun did not destroy anyone. Case closed.

That too!
I watched a shoot with Nash about what booking Nitro was like when it was 3 hours and he said it was a nightmare and that they just struggled to fill 3 hours before Thunder. It made me think that this is the major problem. Smackdown seem to produce an, at least, competent show with 2 hours. It is tighter, there is no filler, and i find myself a bigger fan of a lot more guys on that show. Maybe 3 hours really does take a bigger toll than it should do on the face of it. |

With Raw I know nothing important will happen unless its around 8, 9, 10, or 11.

Only reason they'd keep it is because of money and WWE having nothing strong enough to cover the revenue gap. Like WCW, its pretty much a catch-22 since neither them nor USA Network are happy with it but at the same time, WWE can't afford to lose that extra revenue money. |

The fact that this was the go-home Raw for WrestleMania is crazy.
Raw was so incredibly shit that I actually felt really bad for the crowd. They paid money to be there live and all they got was promo after promo after promo and vignette after vignette after vignette with the occasional match here and there and even then, the matches were no more than ten minutes long. There were only four matches and together, they racked up around twenty-five minutes. That's twenty-five minutes of wrestling that was shown on a three hour long wrestling show. The rest of the time was taken up buy talking (promos & vignettes). That's insane. The only highlight for me from Raw was seeing that Curtis Axel actually made it to television. |

The FACT is, even with declining ratings, it's still a very profitable venture for both USA and WWE. It's not like they are in a marriage they can't get out of. |

Realistically tv does so poorly now ratings wise the 3rd hour drop is par for everyone's course.

As of now, tv deal hasn't been profitable at all for USA Network because they are paying for the extra hour, paying to make Smackdown a live show, and paying WWE more than they get back in ad revenues. Its a huge reason why them and NBC started to go after bigger name advertisers since they need to close as much of that revenue gap as possible. WWE benefits the most now but the lower their audience gets, the harder its going to be to keep those high paying advertisers to stay for the long term. |
