Raven was great. I think Bray is on another level though as a performer. Barring him being booked to shit again (which is a definite possibility) Bray should end up being a much bigger deal than Raven ever was.

Bray SHOULD end up being a bigger deal, but there are no guarantees.
I like this match up, because there are obvious influences in Bray's work and the families similarities to The Flock. Ravens stuff in ECW was so good though and I felt his character was more real and consistent. WWE is still a bit all over the place in terms of who/what Bray Wyatt actually is. I think, in time, a 29 year old Bray will go ahead, because he is great in the ring and has a unique character, but Raven was there first and has already had a storied career, years and years to perfect his character and a much larger body of work to appreciate. In 2017, it can only be Raven, but we may not even be saying that by 2020. 2017 still belongs to the veteran though |

Bray easily. Never a big Raven guy. I preferred him as Johnny Polo.

This was a tough one! Raven had a strong body of work, which may be looked at through rose-tinted eyes, especially seeing as I was a young early teens mark in his heyday.
Wyatt is a great character/promo guy and an excellent worker, but has suffered from, not only shitty booking in general, but specifically the fact that he's played the exact same character and pretty much been in the exact same feud over and over since his debut. Not a single feud of his really stands out from the others. With that said, I went with Raven simply because he was in this: And because he wore this: \m/ \m/ |

I agree with this. Which isnt to say Wyatt is particularly bad its just that everythimg he does was done first by Raven and really done just as well.
Which really highlights the state of their talent seeing as raven was never huge in any major company and wyatt is strapped going into a super show. |

Not a big Raven fan. Not the biggest Bray Wyatt fan either, but much more of a fan of his than Raven, I actually like Bray.

Bray was ruined for me quite a while ago. This current "push" seems like a step in the right direction, but after the years of nothing I just can't bring myself to care anymore. If I were to vote right now it'd be Raven without a second thought. That said when I did like Bray I liked him a lot. Gonna try and clear my head and really think about this one before I make my decision.

It was a little tough, Bray has suffered from bad booking, but Raven's last WWE run was pretty forgettable. I went with Bray simply because I felt he needed a "push"

I'm probably gonna sound like a bit of a mark with this, and I know things are different in the day and age and era we're in, but Bray Wyatt is a WWE Champion. Raven never got close to that. TBH I haven't seen his WCW stuff, but his ECW stuff wasn't impressive enough for me to pick him over a WWE champion. Like him or not, WWE put the belt on him, and he's about to go into WrestleMania holding it. He's made it in this business.

Bray is getting a supernatural gimmick over in 2017.

Is he though? I mean it's been talked about, rather confusingly and vaguely, but i haven't seen anything supernatural about him.
I personally think they should shy away from all the rubbish and just play up the cult leader/manipulator side. Raven did it first though and is still out in front for me for exactly that reason, the bray Wyatt character is still too vague and confusing. |

Sadly no contest Raven wins
I love Bray and based on his comments Raven was into the character as well however, at this point Wyatt has got to be the biggest waste of potential in a long long time. I'll say it again for a guy who is supposed to be a malevolent entity walking around in human skin Bray has been shown to be gullible to the point of stupidity and beatable to the point where its not even made to look like his opponents just barely survived. Everything about Bray should've put everyone on pins and needles form faces to heels and even management. But booking has left him a shell of what he couldve been not sure he can recover from that even with the belt. |

Both men cut creepy promos. The only difference is Raven's actually end up making sense as opposed to Bray who mostly just speaks in tongues.
Raven also had the benefit of not having his promo work be constantly undercut by being booked like a huge jobber. Can't say the same for Wyatt until only very recently. |

Gave the nod to Raven but feel Bray likely can pass him within another year or two assuming the WWE doesn't botch the work built up the past few months.
Both are pretty decent in terms of in-rings skills and great in terms of promo skills but Raven had the better character/gimmick of the two. Bray's problems in terms of character are mainly due to Creative making him be nothing more than a guy who can't back up his words during big feuds. |

Lol Raven got banished to wrestling exclusively on Sunday Night Heat. If that's isn't being booked as a jobber than I don't know what is

Johnny Polo fucking stank. Had a great match w/Marty Jannetty though. |

Obviously Raven was booked like a jobber in WWE. They didn't know what they had with him. Even forcing him into Heat, he made it interesting as Steph and the rest of the writing crew didn't realize he was writing his own storylines down there.
But at the height of his career, he was booked credibly. You gave a shit what Raven had to say because you actually thought he would win. With Bray the promos stopped meaning shit quite quickly when it was apparent he was a jobber to the stars. |

Nah. ECW Raven was booked pretty well. Even WCW Raven had credibility.

That's why he said "until very recently". Like... THAT may have actually been the moment when WWE started treating him like a big deal so that his promos could actually mean something. Until recently he's been fucking amazing at his job but because of how he'd been booked, his character had been a moron trying to sound intimidating while not actually being able to back anything up.

I mean Raven had a mania match with Kane and Big Show so it's not like he was never given a chance to do anything in the WWE

This was close for me but i went with Raven. Bray is good at what he does but he doesn't really have a true creative outlook that Raven had in ECW and WCW.

You mean outlet. And even without that creative outlet he's gone on to accomplish more than Raven and have many more good matches than Raven in a significantly shorter amount of time.

People aren't strictly judging WWF Raven against WWE Bray. ECW Raven definitely comes into play. Bray only has his WWE career to judge him on. So it's definitely fair to say Raven was booked well in his career while Bray wasn't.
