With Tyrus being #1 contender I'd say EC3 will win. Matt will probably go back to teaming with Jeff once they get done with the tournament, when ever that may be.

Can't wait to see Derrick Bateman vs. Brodus Clay for the TNA World Title.

I know your being silly but that's one thing I like about TNA is it give talent a placeto be in matches like that. Brodus Ckay was never going to be anything more than what he was but Tyrus has a chance to be World champ. If presented the right way it works ala EC3. They've done a real good job with EC3s push and he has backed it up, dudes grest on the mic and knows how to work the crowd.

Lol, TNA trolling James Storm. Pope labeled him the tournaments biggest disappointment on the green screen.

ROH was pretty good this week. Main event was The Addiction vs The Kindom. Both played heel and at one point Kaz and Taven tried to hit each other with the belt but then both layed down and acted as if the other hit him with the belt.

I am being silly. Derrick Bateman should have been something. Brodus Clay showed something as a bodyguard and briefly as a fun suplex machine -- but beyond that, I don't see much in the guy.

I'm now on the "just put the fucking belt back on EC3" train. You've got matches against Tyrus and Matt Hardy waiting. Now that they have a TV show they can plan for, I'd suggest they start doing it.

I really wish they'd scale things back to an hour, just to keep things feeling tighter and more fresh.

Be funny if WWE sees that Impacts moving to Tuesdays decide to go ahead and make Smack down live. TNA would benefit from doing more live shows but will probably tape a bunch of shows after the live premiere on Pop TV.

I think they should keep costs down. They need to build some good will and get people buzzing about their product being on the rise again. That will mean sensible booking and maybe even word of mouth coming out of the tapings about it being worth a watch. You can go live once you have momentum.

I'd personally drop the Impact Wrestling name at this point. It might be just an aesthetic thing, but I feel that brand has taken such a beating over the past few years that they might as well just abandon it. Time to create a new show and a fresh start.

I thought at one point they were going to cut the TNA out and just be Impact Wrestling. They really should, strange to me that a women owns the company and its still TNA in today's PC times.

You know, I never gave my "theory" on the whole DA and TNA/ ROH thing so here it is.
I think someone at Discovery heard there's a wrestling company looking for a new network. Considering most network executives probably aren't fans of professional wrestling, they didn't know the difference between TNA and WWE. So they probably thought, if we put wrestling on DA, it will get ratings like RAW gets. The realist truth is, Impact has not and probably will never do a 3 or 4 in the ratings. So when DA realized they won't get that high of ratings, they figured, if he get a cheaper wrestling show (ROH is already syndicated) we can get the same ratings at a cheaper cost.... They brought in ROH and it only does half the ratings Impact does. So at the end of the year, when it came time to renew both companies contracts, DA said fuck it and decided to do more cheap reality shows than to pay to put wrestling on tv

Wouldn't really need RAW or even the lower Samckdown ratings but DA probably thought they could pull in more ad money by having wrestling than what they currently had. Problem was the opposite happened and TNA agreeing to a clause in the contract that demanded a certain level of ratings which didn't happen either.

ROH might have always been in the plan since DA teased a few times about bringing more wrestling for the channel. Just the timing of it happening ended up being bad since the TNA cancellation rumors happened at the same time. ROH is also leaving is due to ad rates being horrible for the spot even though DA barely spent anything to get the show.

PWI had an article teasing TNA basically believes they are the victim of some sort of giant conspiracy to get them off the network.
Quote:
PWInsider added that there is also a feeling within TNA that ROH was used by Destination America. This could be a valid concern or just paranoia but some in TNA feel that Destination America used ROH to prevent TNA Impact Wrestling from being renewed. Apparently when TNA signed a multi-year deal with Destination America, they had to hit a certain viewership mark in a certain amount of time in order for their 2-3 year automatic renewal to kick in. The feeling is that when TNA started to get close to that mark, the stories about Impact being canceled started coming out and then ROH was brought onto the network. The concern is that the rumors led to a drop in Impact viewers as fans saw it as a lame-duck product. Then ROH was signed and some people in TNA believe ROH was brought on to detract from TNA and to dilute the viewers, essentially preventing TNA from hitting that viewership mark and getting renewed.

That TNA article is just sad. It's always the network's fault that they fucking suck, isn't it? It was Spike's fault that they didn't "promote" TNA better, even though it was a jewel piece in its attempts to establish a combat sports block alongside Bellator, and that they used their own money to back the contracts of guys like Sting.

It's now Destination America's fault that they...what? Put more wrestling on their network? How insecure is TNA about their product that they think another wrestling show in a separate time-slot is affecting their ratings.

Yeah, this is what I've heard too. It's basically a philosophical move to remove wrestling from the network. I do think that they thought TNA would bring more eyeballs to their station than what they did, but it doesn't help that Dixie Carter and her clowns are pretty much an embarrassment in everything they do.

Honestly I hope POP TV gets behind TNA better than DA did. Although like Noid said Dixie does the company no favors. Should reach note homes on POP but really need to promote the show more. Hell if Lucha Underground can buy a commercial slot for Raw why can't TNA.

100% yes. They have a great talent and partnerships around the world. They're moving to COMET on Dec. 2, I don't get that channel but can still get them on syndication. COMET is owned by Sinclair and MGM so if that channel grows it could be good for ROH. Really feel they could do bigger arenas to but not 20,000 seat arenas though. More like a 5,000 seat arena would be great for them and make their TV product better.

They need to promote the show more, but how many people even realize that POP exists? They should promote what they have left, but the company has chased away all the talent that helped lend it an identity, and it's not like people were never aware of TNA. They've pissed away whatever good will existed for it on the internet and have squandered their word of mouth tools.

There's some talk that they want to bring in Goldberg or Rey Mysterio. Both would be big signings, but you have to know what to do with them. Does Goldberg go right after the title? If you put the belt back on EC3 and then have Goldberg come in, does he take the belt or do you stifle him right out the gate?

Rey Mysterio is the easier one to use, because the path with him is really simple -- put the X-Division Title on him and let him "make" Tigre Uno. At the same time, allow him to work AAA so that you can build that goodwill and maybe even be able to pinch talent when you need something fresh. AAA would surely like to get a few of their new crop of guys over too, so the occasional "AAA showcase" in TNA might be worth something to them.

Maybe you can even lock down guys like Johnny Mundo and cross-promote him with Lucha Underground and AAA? TNA might not have enough of a presence to get back on PPV, but maybe joint ventures with AAA in America might work? Okay, I have gone off on a weird tangent here, but I think they need something else, because the "TNA" brand is basically bad news at the moment.

The more I think about the TNA/AAA partnership, the more I think it would benefit both promotions. I mean, Konnan has heat with some personalities in TNA, but that sort of stuff dies down when it needs to. AAA just lost Alberto and Myzteziz. They've been using John Morrison and have done a great job with Brian Cage, but bringing in guys like The American Wolves for a heel stint, or The Hardys to pad out a big show would be so valuable to them right now. I imagine, anyway. I don't really understand the world of lucha. It seems Konnan is pretty open about wanting to "evolve" it though.

Goldberg? Hadn't heard that but with Kurt leaving soon they could use a big name signing about the time of the debut on Pop. Goldburgs return to wrestling could be something worth promoting across different channels and get the word out about Impact on Pop TV.

Goldberg himself has come out and said that TNA made him an offer. I'd say chances of him coming in are higher now that there is a confirmed television deal in place with TNA. I could see him taking a schedule that coincides with the TNA/Pop TV deal. At first I was like "Ugh, what are they even going to do with him?", but the more I think about it, the more options I see for him. A team with Bobby Lashley against EC3 and Tyrus; a cat and mouse program with Bobby Roode; a big singles match against Lashley.

At the end of the day, if the WWE don't say "fuck it" and sign Angle to some sort of deal, then it's very likely Kurt will end up working for TNA again after taking some time off. And truth be told, I could see the bloom being off The Dudleys in WWE and them ending up back in TNA. If Christian isn't satisfied with how his WWE run went and still feels he has some matches left, it's not like he left TNA on bad terms either.

I wouldn't say I am "optimistic" about TNA's future. Most of their problems come internally from not really understanding how professional wrestling should work; but I feel a sort of "rebound" effect about them at the moment. Like they've hit rock bottom and that any direction they go really has to be up, and that could create the illusion of progress.

They should really put someone sane in charge of booking. Or insane in a good way. I know Gertner and I used to share the same idea that Raven being given the book would be interesting. I'd be on board with Kevin Sullivan getting to pick a team of guys to form a creative team, possibly even on rotations so as to keep the ideas fresh (obviously you need a grand vision, but the conclusion of an arc ending with Sullivan taking a few months off in order for Jim Cornette to come back and book a "season", if you will, could keep things energetic).

But given a new creative direction, and in my opinion, allowing a lot of their talent to work shows for PWG, AAA, New Japan or wherever they want to go, might lead to more guys seeing TNA as a viable place to earn some coin. I don't know if AJ Styles would ever consider returning there, but with a different direction and a renewed focus on what he brings to the table, he could be their #1 guy very easily.

I dunno -- I don't see TNA growing too much within their own bubble. I looked over the card for one of Tommy Dreamer's "House of Hardcore" shows recently -- and it used a lot of TNA guys and actually looked really fucking good on paper. There's stuff TNA can do if they stay sensible, but I'd strongly suggest trying to wash off the TNA stink by being the "good guys," and giving independent talent more shine, but at the same time letting them work in their homebase to keep themselves growing. TNA aren't big league enough to survive as a big league. But that's just my opinion.

And sign Chris Hero. Don't know why, but I feel like he'd be awesome in TNA. Let him bring in some guys to work matches with ("Speedball" Mike Bailey) and let him carve out an association with TNA Wrestling.

TNA have kicked Paragon Pro Wrestling off Pop. They could use that as an angle to bring some fresh blood in. No, not a "major" invasion angle, but having the current champions attack a few guys in the carpark could build to something. Jesse Sorsensen is their current Heavyweight Champion, a guy named Darin Corbin (ha) is their American Champion, and their Tag Champs are a really good looking team of a guy that looks like a norse god and a Russian guy that looks like a supermodel.

I don't know how well he works, but I'd be giving him a look if I were starting up a wrestling company.

GFW was apparently looking for a spot on Pop TV too. I would kind of like it if Pop got behind wrestling and gave Amped a spot on their line-up too. Could they afford it? I'm not sure, but the current run is basically paid for anyway, so they might be able to just line up something where they press play and use TNA to advertise GFW and GFW to advertise TNA.

Yeah I checked out PPW when they first came on POP but they were on at like 6 am on Saturdays and didn't set the DVR to record it. Their last episode on POP is tomorrow at 8 am.

That'd be alright, I'm really hoping GFW finds an home before long. I seen where Sonjay Dutt said they already had about 15 episodes recorded so they got something to sell. Could go to WGN after TNA has snubbed them twice.

That's if WGN is interested in them. They do need a spot, but I'm not exactly *enthused* by the product (on paper, of course) that GFW has put out. It feels like a lot of guys randomly out there wrestling. I mean, I love wrestling, and I like the old-school presentation of shows (recently I've been checking out Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and NXT actually falls into that style of booking and formatting), but GFW really feels like a slapped together "If you enjoyed early days TNA" knockoff.

Jarrett was on Jim Cornette's Experience podcast and he was proud of crowning four champions from four different continents. Okay. Cool. But your headline acts are still Magnus and Chris Masters. I'm not knocking those guys, but it just feels like there's no "traction" there. It's a very gentrified and round product at the moment -- there's not enough that's sharp and that clicks.

Yeah I get what your saying and I'll have to actually see the product to judge it but I feel Magnus is a good young talent to build a global company around. I'm not sold on the NEX GEN title name but it is what it is. Just feel like if WGN is willing to give TNA a chance and keep getting rejected why not take a chance on something new and fresh with GFW. Had big hopes when they started signing all those talent agreements but things have been slow since then.

It's getting to the stage where I think Jarrett should just start putting Amped up on a video sharing site so people can get a feel for the product, they can get the views and use that to point towards any success there when it comes to shopping for a network. I mean, it's pissing away those first shows, but at some point they're going to lose their relevant edge and GFW is going to need to tape more and keep doing shows anyway.

Yeah, should have done Internet PPVs like he did with TNA to start for the first couple of shows. Agree he needs to do something before the years up. If 2016 starts and he still doesn't have a network GFW may be a lost cause by then to fans.
