I never notice picking them up, but I must be, as I have a full stock nearly at all times. This is a 180 from the betas, where finding one was the needle/haystack analogy.

Just hit 30 DZ. Can finally get decent shit in the way of mods now instead of *hoping* the post office vendor (s) have what I'm looking for.

Around level 26-27 is when the purple gear will start dropping from the PvE elites.

Also, someone discovered a super easy farm spot in PvE. Times Square elite boss is like 10 steps away from the safehouse there. Just keep doing fast travel trips.

Newest bug discovered for the game is causing players to get locked out of the game if they craft a high-end backpack and claims of Ubisoft being stubborn when asked for help until very recently.

Being rumored the recent patch (1.02) might be the root cause for the bug because of the certain changes made to the game.

Damn. People are right. Once you hit level 30, it's Dark Zone, mission replays or nothing. PvE is pretty much barren unless you're hunting down the intel......which I just finished.

Sucks that the district elite bosses don't respawn. Would have given people something to do outside of the Dark Zone. Pretty sure I'm missing 1 or 2 of those guys.

Easter eggs in The Division continue to be discovered in the weeks since its release. The latest, while small, is a pretty clear reference to one of the most iconic Saturday Night Live characters played by the late Chris Farley.

The secret is hiding in one of the game's Echoes, the holographic reconstructions of past events that you're able to discover around New York. As shown in the screenshot above (shared on Reddit by user Awes10), one of the people whose background you can examine in an Echo is listed as someone who "lives in a van down by the river." He's also unemployed.

That's an obvious tip of the hat to Matt Foley, a character played by Farley on SNL. Brought in as a motivational speaker to turn around the life of two kids, Foley proceeds to craft one of the most memorable characters the show has ever seen.

Took them about a week but Ubisoft recently managed to discover what was causing the backpack bug that was kicking people out from playing the game. Currently working on a patch but no date was revealed for its arrival.

Patch itself may or may not end up being included in the bigger April update for the game.

Quote:
Ubisoft was able to identify the source of the problem thanks in part to feedback from fans, who filled up 129 pages worth of comments about the issue.

A patch to fix the issue will be released "as soon as possible," the developer said, also providing a recommendation for how to avoid the issue in the meantime.

"It's our top priority in bug fixing," Ubisoft said. "In the meantime, we would like to advise you not to attach mods on items you are not using. We'd like to thank you again for your cooperation and patience."

Awesome to see the developers really working to keep the game running as intended unlike Bungie, who never even bothered to fix the amount of cheese in the Crota raid beyond one patch.

Oh believe me. Massive is quick on putting the kabosh on anything cheese or exploits.

Between the Russian Consulate, Madison Field Hospital, and district elite boss farms, getting a bit harder to get better gear fast.

Starting with next week's patch for the game, Ubisoft is going to enact new rules for punishing players who cheat with the PC version of the game.

Quote:
Ubisoft developers Massive Entertainment recently held a stream where some of the finer points of the April 12 patch were discussed. It was there that this new policy came to light. According to community developer Yannick Banchereau, the first offense will be a three-day suspension without warning, and the second offense will be a permanent ban from The Division.

"We are not going to pretend that we are 100 percent happy with the situation. It is something we're working on, and we should have some better solutions coming in the future. We are looking at improving it. We are catching a lot of people, so it's not as if there was nothing being done, but of course we can always improve on that," Banchereau commented.

Players will soon have a more effective method of reporting cheaters, too. One of the additions in the April 12 update on PC is a "/report [username]" command that automatically flags someone's account for review. Massive says that it'll look into each of those reports.

I like how Massive is really addressing these problems. Killing named NPCs will guarantee you a piece of high end loot. So most of us will be able to catch up to the 1%. Instead of going through this horrible grind.

Although, been hearing stories the dev team hasn't been able to beat the upcoming Incursion. From what I'm hearing, it's really hard.

Hm. Better hit the Police Academy up while I still can. This whole 1-3 phx creds for a named boss is brutal as it is. And that "High End guarantee" doesn't really seem to be a guarantee unless you finish a Challenging map, which is cheap the other way. (Like spamming shotgunners who are 1-2 shotting you from 50ft away while doing that super run, and 3 or 4 guys who throw grenades fasfer than the rate of an enemy with a grenade launcher ). Even with a high Scavenger rate (somewhere around 160 currently), I still get a lot of Superiors, and occasional blue drops off of named enemies. Making enemy faming the only viable route for PHOENIX CREDITS, then making that less worth doing, and then making those necessary for not only buying golds, but re-rolling them as well feels like a bit much.

I'm am not a huge proponent of exploitation and cheeze. However, them nerfing a lot of the loopholes isn't really doing anything but hampering people who aren't geared out yet and making more of an unneccessary grind just to keep people playing. . And DZ 30 is only getting more and more crowded, and people are using respawn loops. If other PCs beat you to it, you're kinda boned there. The "one and done" of the in-world bosses takes away that alternative.

Finally hit DZ 50, and without the severe punishment for dying (read: people being assholes and not even stealing your shit, just rouging for fun) I can buy some blueprints. Hoping the Tenebrae isn't absolute crap... named guns seem to be *worse* than their unnamed counterparts, and you can't even mod the color.

It's a'ight. But the generic (I think Cadeuceus is an ACR) with a decent roll could be better, pending play preferences.

But I say this as I'm trying to grind my way to the Tenebrae blueprint.

Haven't tested too much, though... I like my Sniper/LMG combo. I don't dig SMGs too much, but I see why people love them so much. Even with the broken talent neutered, the Midas is pretty letal with the default SMG crit bonus, and moreso with extra mods. Mine nearly has a 50/50 chance. Just isn't my cup of tea. And I'm not used to assault rifles anymore. Shotguns are garbage unless you're in a group and can afford to tank and have enough support on the reload times.

It's just about a month after launch. Ubisoft put together some stats about a few things.

I recently just dropped the coat in favor for the hoodie myself. Never used an AK-47 yet.

Recent Incursion update for the game ended up having a nasty side effect of deleting data for some players. Ubisoft revealed they managed to quickly fix the situation and will roll back affected players to previous states as a way to restore as much of the lost data as possible.

Quote:
Ubisoft says that this was caused by a failure in the data synchronization process that instead corrupted the data. The developer will revert player saves back to the last uncorrupted save before the update in order to restore accounts. Therefore, any play time between the original Incursion update and the impending fix will be lost. This only applies to players who were affected by the bug; all others won't see any change or reversion.
http://www.destructoid.com/people-ar...l-355148.phtml

New update also allows the ability to trade gear with other players but still has some restrictions in place.

Quote:
With the arrival of the Incursions update, Ubisoft relented ever-so-slightly. Players can now trade gear with one another. However, it's done in a way that still prevents re-sale on exterior websites like G2A.

Here's how it works: Division players can swap gear with one another under a tightly-controlled set of circumstances. Equipment can only be traded for up to an hour after it was initially picked up. Also, it's restricted to people who were in your group when the item was dropped, and to people who are in your group at the time of the trade.

Tom Clancy’s The Division may be getting a few wearable crossovers from other Ubisoft games, if you believe a set of images from a player who claims to have received the outfits due to a bug.

Three separate images show alternate Division outfits based on Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, and Watch Dogs. While Photoshop is a possible explanation, they all do look rather convincing. Reddit user Wooleyful claims that the outfits appeared in his inventory after the recent 1.1 update, which wouldn’t be too far-fetched considering some of the other glitches players encountered.

I sooooooooooooooo wanna run around as Sam Fisher. Goggles and all! I'll pay money just for that.

But yeah, noticed Ubisoft is sneaking in some product placement too. Picked up a pair of those Mechanix gloves in the Dark Zone yesterday. Had the Registered symbol next to them and everything.

They were green and were promptly scrapped for fabric.

This game is killing me with the Mechanix(R) Original(C) Covert Gloves dropping since the update Tuesday. Like, gee, I wonder what company inked a sponsorship deal with Ubisoft?

Addendum: Didn't even notice ClockShot just mentioned it. Meanwhile, I've had a screencap since my first pair hit on Tuesday. And I've been getting them often. Even a couple pair of golds.

Also, that "one hour to trade" seems to be timed according to your in-game login. If you still have 30 minutes on that item's timer, and you quit out and play again tomorrow, you can still give that item to one of the groupmates for what was left of that hour when you start the game up again.

Ubisoft considering punishing players who try to cheat or glitch their way past the current end boss of the game.

Quote:
This week's Incursions update to The Division brought many changes to the game, including Falcon Lost -- the most difficult mission to date. It's considered end-game content, and Ubisoft won't even let people play it unless their entire group has achieved a minimum gear score. The boss is level 34, something that's found nowhere else in the game.

While many people have already beaten Falcon Lost, a good handful of them haven't done it legitimately. Shortly after the update, players figured out a way to glitch the end encounter. The process involves using the mobile cover skill to clip through a wall. Doing so prevents the game from registering that you're in the room, meaning your group can fire on the boss without it firing back.

How about they just fix the glitch?

And it seems "difficulty" is relative. I'd say more time consuming than hard (maybe on challenging, but likely more in the "everything can take more damage/deal more damage than you are even capable of dealing/taking). Falcon Lost feels more like a battle of goddamn attrition. I got to wave 5 of 15 after the APC appears and stopped playing because I wasn't feeling wave after wave of bullet sponges where I can only take out one at a time between dodging fucking missiles.

For a game that focuses on and emphasizes using cover, it makes you get out of it a hell of a lot (places with no significant cover/surfaces that don't count as cover that look like they should, flamethrowers going around corners, grenades/grenade launchers/APC turret pinpointing you while in cover, etc.), and punishes you for doing so.

Nah. They can't keep hotfixing left and right. Massive must have some bad testers because if they can't figure out all these bugs and glitches during their tests, and we the gamers can figure them out within a matter of hours after launch, something's wrong.

Between the race to 30 at launch, nerfing Phoenix credits, Bullet King, Russian Consulate glitch, Madison Square Garden boss, and now the Incursion cheese. The first 5 problems should have been discovered by launch.

Now IF Massive is smart, they'll go over the next big update with a fine tooth comb and make sure everything is right. No problem is they have to push it back a bit. Better safe than sorry.

And you'd think that the mobile cover trick would be corrected from jump, as they JUST patched that in to prevent the Police Station shortcut, if not others. Aside from the endpoint of the Refugee Camp mission, clipping walls is about the only useful application for the mobile cover.

Just dipped my toes into the Dark Zone, it's pretty interesting. Only mucked around for about 30 minutes in there but it was an enjoyable experience on the lower levels. Came to the rescue of these two random guys and stuck with them for a bit.

I can see how people could be dicks later on.

Gotten comfortable with playing with matchmaking groups doing the Daily Missions. The tricky part now is trying to work my way North in the Dark Zone. It's just such a huge jump in difficulty from zone 2 to zone 3. Really gotta start grouping at that time.

Massive sending out Phoenix Credits compensation for those who were affected by the recent bugs. If you got the high-end backpack glitch or lost your character on XBone, 500 credits for you and 10 high end materials of each type.

Everybody will be getting 150 credits for the lost daily missions before the update launch. You just gotta log in this weekend.

New game breaking bug was discovered although pretty useful for players at the moment. Also a portion of the community at the moment is holding a contest to find the biggest game breaking bug in the game considering the amount that have been discovered so far.

Quote:
Bugs in Tom Clancy’s The Division continue to stack up, with the most recent exploit allowing players to illegitimately increase their gun’s damage through the simple process of switching weapons.

This glitch is a little more technical than some of the others plaguing the game recently and it requires a primary weapon with the Competent talent equipped to it. This talent grants the weapon increased damage for a few seconds after using a Skill.
Quote:
With the appropriate weapon equipped, players can go into their inventory and rapidly switch between the weapon and any other primary firearm. Once this has been performed for an extended time, leave the inventory and activate a skill to temporarily boost up the original weapon’s damage. Every time the glitch is used, it boosts up the gun’s post-skill damage to an even greater number, allowing committed players to deal obscene amounts of damage if used repeatedly.

One video that would appear to make use of the glitch reveals that it can be particularly potent against the boss of the Falcon Lost Incursion, with the player in the clip dealing over 142,000,000 points of damage with one shot.

A lead programmer at Sony who's been looking at Ubisoft's netcode for the game recently implied Ubisoft did a very lousy job with programming the game as the main reason why constant big glitches and issues with hackers are running rampant.

Believes its impossible for Ubisoft to fix the situation without a drastic code rehaul which he doubts is something the company would bother to do at least for the PC version. Console versions are more fixable but also would take a good amount of work.
