It's been a long time since the Slam Dunk contest made me jump out of my season. Then Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon started competing against each other.

Anybody remotely interested in the All-Star Game tonight?
I expect nobody to play defense, a total of more than 350 points combined, Kobe to score the most points, Kobe to be named MVP, and the West wins. |

Slow trade deadline day this year. Just a couple of trades with the biggest being the 3 way involving the Cavs, Blazers, and Magic.
Cavs-Blazers-Magic trade: Cavs got Channing Frye from the Magic. Blazers got Anderson Varejao and 2018 1st Round Pick from the Cavs. Magic got Jared Cunningham from the Cavs and 2018 2nd Round pick from the Blazers. |

Most of the experts are blaming the lack of trade deadline movement on the Warriors being so good that most of the teams didn't really see the point of improving for this year.

ESPN had a segment a few weeks ago about people blaming the Warriors for why ratings were down instead of the fact every year has way too few legit teams as contenders. |

The Phoenix Suns improved by trading whiny penis Markieff Morris to the Wizards for Kris Humphries, DeJuan Blair, and a first round pick.

That's pretty much precisely why I can't get into the NBA at all anymore. It's by far the most predictable of the major sports. Most years you can skip right past the regular season and even half of the playoffs and end up with the exact Conference Finals matchup you would have predicated the previous summer.
A lot of purists actually like that about the NBA, how there are so few playoff upsets and allows you to focus on the few contenders every year. But it does nothing for me. |

Apparently a bunch of teams are upset at the Miami Heat over the antics they pulled to get under the luxury tax penalty.
Involved fooling everyone about wanting to go under the tax penalty but finding a loophole to get both Joe Johnson and a tax payout check from the league. Majority of the anger is at the Heat getting another player to waive most of his salary without getting nothing back in return. Because of those antics, Heat guaranteed themselves a $2.6 million luxury check in the offseason and everyone else who followed the tax rules get lower checks as a result. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14...al-teams-upset |

Shelvin Mack! Been waiting for a decent point guard in Utah since Deron Williams. Jazz are one gane behind Dallas for the final spot.

Ugh, Utah are going to miss the playoffs by one fucking game. That's what happens when Raul Neto andTrey Burke are your two fucking point guards 3/4 of the season.

True. Who has the tie breaker? Jazz will go 2 and 2 at the worst. Houston can't win 4 games in a row.. Hell, they may lose to the Suns tonight.

Wow at the Cs game tonight. Down 62-38 at the half, then held Miami to just 5 points in the 3rd and end up winning by 10 points.
Had the Hawks won tonight, Cs would have taken the 4th seed and faced Miami but instead took 5th and face the Hawks because of tiebreakers. |
