Come on man. You cant say " this will be remembered as the Clayton Kershaw game " Thats such a lame thing to say. Dodgers closer just gave them 51 pitches to get to Kershaw. Give respect where it's deserved. Dont sell Jansen out like that.

Great game. Third base coach killed it for Nationals. Alot of the late game shenanigans might not have happened if Werth is held at third....

Wow at the stat of Dusty Baker losing 9 straight elimination games.
He's like the baseball version of Bad News Barrett. |

I don't even pay attention to the hacks in the booth. They're just going to push narratives and hyperbole.
And before he brings himself in here, go away Droford. We're here to celebrate what great baseball we've been treated to. Not rip another team that's better than yours. |

It was cool that Kershaw closed it out, but Jansen was the true hero of that game. He pitched 51 pitches just to get to Kershaw. He pitched his ass off. It's so disingenuous to make this about Kershaw. That really bugs me.

Even if the scoring still happens, worst case scenario is Nats go into extra innings. Maybe even cause the Dodgers to hesitate putting Kershaw in leaving a gassed Jansen to bring it to extras. |

Thats one of them moments where you have to realize who you're trying to wave home there. Werth is not a fucking burner. You stop him. Like... that decision should have been made the moment he was rounding 2nd. So bad.

I didn't watch a minute of that and I loved it. The Dodgers pitching staff is so much shakier than the Nationals. I was so terrified of Max Scherzer and Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez.

This Dodgers Cubs series is going to be great. It wont be a Cubs walk over. I'm thinking Cubs in 6, but i'm worried. Dodgers have timely bats for sure. They've had them all year.

I'm not saying the Cubs are going to sweep or anything, but the matchup against the Dodgers staff is much less terrifying than the Nats.

True, but this Dodger team has been sneaky this year. No way its a sweep at all.

I think it'll go 7. The problem the Dodgers run into is they're shaky after Kershaw. Haven't been able to rely on Hill since they got him, and the middle of their rotation doesn't stack up against Chicago's.
It's gonna be a fun series tho |

Thank fuck the Nats are out. Now I can enjoy the remaining games stress free. Would love to see the Cubs win for the pandemonium of it but ultimately I'm okay with all of the remaining teams.

Dave Roberts managed his bullpen brilliantly, aside from Dayton crapping the bed but I thought it was the right move at the time.

Of the remaining teams, the most recent to even win a pennant was the Indians in 1997. Neat that we're guaranteed new teams in the mix this year.

28 different teams have made the playoffs since 2006 - the lone exceptions being the Marlins and Mariners.
However, only 6 teams have won the World Series in that span and only 11 teams have won a pennant. Those numbers will bump up to 7 and 13 this year. |

Not sure why he took out Hill so early. But beyond that I thought Roberts managed his pen just fine. Same for Baker.

I'll remind you I predicted them to sweep the Red Sox. I also correctly called the Nats choking even before they were up 2-1. I also didn't make any prediction about Toronto vs Texas..but I did think that series would have gone longer than a Jays sweep in 3. |

Cleveland is a better team, but they don't have their 2 top starters. Predicting the favoured team to win a series isn't exactly going out on a limb, Droford, you giant wang.
Texas was also the better team, and they probably played one of the softest series I've ever seen any team play. Anything can happen in the playoffs. It's going to be a fun series regardless, and I also favour Cleveland to win while obviously pulling strongly for the Jays. I just don't understand your need to repeat "Cleveland in 5" as though I don't think they have a strong chance to win. Contribute something worthy to the conversation, not just seething shit headery. |
