Nice. Always enjoyed De La Rocha's vocals and style. Travis Barker is a good drummer, but a huge toolbag :P

If you dont know Killer Mike is from Atlanta and used to be in The Dungeon Family with Outkast and Goodie Mob. He had an album out called Monster in like 2000 but hit it big when El-P produced his 2009 critically acclaimed "RAP MUSIC". He got really big with white kids at that time and then they formed Run the Jewels in 2013. I saw them live last fall and it was one of the best rap shows Ive ever been too.
You may remember Killer Mike from this hit from back in the day. |

they came out and did the whole first album first song to last. i knew that killer mike was full of charisma, but i had no idea that el-p was. he absolutely held it down last night. he came out with a big ol' bottle of grey goose that got polished off by the end of the set. killer mike lit up a joint and passed it into the crowd. everyone was just passing around joints and blunts. i got sooooooo high during sea legs (my favorite jam off that album). they stepped off for a minute or two after a christmas fucking miracle, and came back out to perform 2 new tracks (one of them being blockbuster night). it was funny because they were like "we don't know the words to this shit yet, but we're learning em. we'll still do this shit for you anyway." i don't go to a lot of hip hop shows so i don't have much to compare it to, but goddamn were they on. my buddy who came with used to be much more into the scene, but hadn't really listened to much run the jewels before the show. all he kept saying after was "that was raw as FUCK." it was, too.

yeah i wanted to get a shirt but they didn't have anything. i don't think i've ever been to a show that didn't have merch. hell, even the first group didn't have any merch. they (ratking) weren't very good, though, so no loss there.

i don't think they're on a tour right now (this was a lollapalooza afterparty), so maybe they just didn't plan to bring any with.

i saw a few of those in the crowd last night. that's probably my least favorite song on the album, but that may have changed after seeing it live last night. they fucking killed it, and had the whole crowd wild. honestly, it totally refreshed that entire album for me and i'm about 10x more hyped for the new shit.

Man, since I came into this thread a couple weeks ago, I can't stop listening to this shit. Started sharing with my wife too, she is way more into the genre than I. Good shit, got the CD in both cars.
Yea fuck you, I still use CD's. |

I should also give thanks to y'all for relocating me with Killer Mike. I thought he was dead like Karate Kid 2 when Sato was laying beneath a piece of wood and got abandoned by his nephew.
