Batista easily. He's still alive and he's been in better movies than Rude

Actually ognna have to think on this.I prefer watching Rude as a mark but Bats was a solid star for the company something Rude never was.

Love Rude, one of my favourites from childhood and starting to get into wrestling. He was original, had a great character and was always entertaining.
BUT, Batista is terribly underrated by wrestling fans. He came along in an era of multiple PPV's and constant television, where it is extremely difficult not to get stale, but he became a genuine star with a great look and a quiet charisma that elevated him above many of his peers. His return was handled abysmally and he was punished for WWE's inept and laughable booking, but he was a bigger star than Rude in an era in which that was becoming increasingly difficult. Vote going to Dave |

I really liked Batista in his feud with John Cena, however that is the only time I liked the character.
He really didn't do much on his return. |

Tough call. Rude by a hair. Not sure why, doubt he'll win.

I came in here all ready to vote for Rude, but I started thinking a second, and Batista was a pretty big part of some pretty big things. I remember marking the fuck out at his face turn. One of the "biggest" moments I can remember feeling any type of way as a wrestling fan. Gimme a bit on this.

On the other side of the coin, when I'm in Philly, I will definitely be calling everyone "Pennsylvania Piss Ants".

I hated how much TPWW loved Batista back when he had his face turn against HHH. The storyline was fine but people were acting like he was the next Rock or something.
I do think Batista is a cool guy, I just never really digged the character until he started acting like Kanye (but not the Kanye sketch they did at the slammys) |

The face TURN was cool. The face RUN, not so much. And yes, Kanye Westista was amazing.

Yeah... Bats initial face turn was awesome, but the run fell short. Moreorless due to cookie cutter babyface booking of a salty dude who wasn't a natural "kissing babies" babyface. Similar to Nash, the second he turned heel, the second he was interesting again.
Moral of the story? Vince may be the man, but in many instances, he is fucking clueless. |

Batista (blue gear aside) has proven that he's an awfully talented dude
Rick Rude simply never reached the level Dave is on |

Went with Bats. Its hard to argue against success. Especially at a time when there was very little that was over.

Also went with Bluetista. The success being one factor and he has that "it" factor.

Pretty ridiculous that he doesn't fit his team's color scheme ONE TIME in a six man tag, and it sticks with him.

Sure it stood out in that match, but we're still calling him Bluetista like he didn't do anything else in his career.

Rude by a mile. Rude had the complete package: physique, in ring ability, ring psychology, promo work, and Bobby Heenan as a manager.
Batista was only relevant because WWE made him relevant by putting him with Triple H. Another generic big man with a limited move set, no promo skills, limited work rate and ability, no longevity. The only thing he had going for him was and I will give him credit for was a phenomenal physique. He was to WWE what Scott Steiner tried to be and never could get over to be. If I had to rate them overall it would be: Rude= 8.75/10 Batista=6/10 |

I'd say it was probably one of the most progressive periods for WWE in the declining stages of the Attitude Era. To say very little was over at the time is kinda ridiculous and null. |

Funny though with a roster of 60+ at the time you think 10 over acts is a huge margin.

I think that having a roster of 60 plus shows that they had depth, the ability to elevate other wrestlers to the main event, and have progressive/fresh story lines Destor. But my point was making a blank statement that they didn't have anything over didn't make any sense. For the sake of progress or digress I will agree with you during that time they were coming out of a lengthy period of long stale feuds with the same talent over and over. But it was still a time post Attitude era where the talent was becoming progressive, new stars were in the making and early on you could see main event potential. I've always respected your opinions on here brother but to say that very little to nothing was over is a bit absurd.

Batista was a brand new star and personality on TV that broke through after the boom era, and you probably mentioned the 3 guys who were truly over as big stars in that whole 10 year period. He became a star when so many other big guys didn't, so to call him generic is wrong. If he had a good opponent, he was capable of great matches. I think the worst argument you have made though is longevity. Whilst Batista was a legit main event star in WWE for 8 years from 2003 and his inclusion in Evolution to 2010. The longest Rude lasted in any one big company was a little more than 3 years and he was never a top guy. I love Rude, but have to be fair to what Batista achieved and how over he was. |

I went with big Dave. But Rude definitely had the more legendary gimmick. He just didnt have the long term success to match it.

He probably more meant "size" wise. Rude wasn't huge. His legs were sticks. But he was certainly fucking ripped.

well IMO the contrast was just that jarring powder blue gear add in the sin cara arm sleeves he was rockin the long knee pads and sneakers while everyone else was in black and well its memorable. And the Shield Broke up the next night. |
